  • A guide on how to use and abuse frametraps to open people up with counter-hit combos! These aren't all the frametraps Cammy can use, just some examples of solid ones.

    One of the best guides for anything SFV I've seen so far, was having fun freestyling pressure before but now I have some great strings to commit to muscle memory, looking forward to more guides :D

    Overwhelming amount of information, which is exactly what I needed. I haven't gotten to working with shimmys and counter hits yet in my gameplay and this will help a lot. Awesome vid

    I was curious as to why I couldn't play Cammy before. I relied on punishes and rushdown offense. Now I know. Cammy's all about being patient and capitalizing on your opponent's mistakes.

    The title sounded like the one for a book about stretching. "Becoming a supple leopard."
    Which would've been a pretty great title for a cammy vid alternatively.

    Btw the stuff is how big the gap is inbetween the moves.

    • @ade1806
      @ade1806 9 років тому +1

      And you calculated this by taking the frame advantage on block and subtracting it from the start up frames of the next move? Sorry for so many questions 🙈

    • @PAN--
      @PAN--  9 років тому +1

      +A CLK Yup, exactly! Don't worry about asking questions :P

    • @ade1806
      @ade1806 9 років тому

      +PAN OK so for the string st.mp cr.mp cr.mk - I get out the " because st.mp is +2 on guard and the startup for cr.mp is 5 (therefore 5-2=3). But for for the second half of the combo I am not getting out the even when I consider that maybe you added 2f for the critical hit
      Also I was wondering if let's say Bison has been in corner and he is fishing for counter hits with frame traps what are my options ?...the best one I can think about is an ex version of a move for invincibility

    • @PAN--
      @PAN--  9 років тому +1

      +A CLK I'm not quite sure what you mean at the start. st.mp to cr.mp has a 3 frame gap on block, which means if they throw out any move 3 frames or higher (every move except invincible reversal), it will get counterhit. Cr.mp to cr.mk has a 6 frame gap which means its riskier to press cr.mk if they block both st.mp to cr.mp. The reason cr.mp to cr.mk combos is because counterhit, they got hit inbetween the 3 frame gap of st.mp > cr.mp.
      Bison has some really nasty frame traps. st.lp and st.hk are +3 on block. Alot of the time you can get away with doing st.hk twice and crush counter them. A safer option is st.hk > cr.mp. His target combo is also good @ catching people and will combo on counterhit and crush counter if they block the st.mp but not the psycho axe. Psycho axe itself is a good button to press as you are +1 and can pressure from there.

    I find that a lot of Ryu and Ken players throw out a YOLO DP/throw the moment you land and that usually takes care of the EX Divekick frametrap...

    • @PAN--
      @PAN--  8 років тому +1

      +British Tea That means the next time you EX dive, you just block and late tech. They bascially did 100~ dmg through their DP to let you hit a crush counter combo of 300~ the next time it happens :D

    • @BritishTeaFGC
      @BritishTeaFGC 8 років тому

      PAN How do I late tech? What's the timing on that?

    This vid is great but nothing blows up Cammys offense more than a character with an DP. When fighting an opponent that is brave enough to DP play a little cautious between your frame traps and you can try to bait one for a big crush counter combo.

    never thought to follow up cr,mp w/ cr.mk on block when confirming a spin knuckle. That's really smart, I get a counterhit on that cr.mp like 90% of the time when my opponent blocks spin knuckle, lmao

    • @ownagemunky
      @ownagemunky 9 років тому

      +ownagemunky double confirm combos in general are something I never really considered. After hitting the lab with them they seem really practical though. I'm loving the st.mp, cr.mp st.hp xx double confirm too.

    • @PAN--
      @PAN--  9 років тому +1

      +ownagemunky You'd be surprised how practical they are! I land tons of them every game and they are really easy to confirm.

    @1:25 what do you mean by using walkspeed to catch throw techs?

    • @PAN--
      @PAN--  9 років тому +1

      +celcius If you walk up to throw them after cr.lp > st.mp, they will want to tech the next time you do cr.lp > st.mp and walk forward. Then instead of throwing, you do another st.mp and catch them trying to tech the throw.

    I dunno why but I can't seem to connect the cr,mp to cr.mk, did they change it so it couldn't be combo anymore? If not how do you get the timing for it?

    • @PAN--

      only on counterhit

    When you get a counter hit with cr.MP what is a better to do cr.MK and then spiral arrow rather than just going cr.MP right into spiral arrow. Is it to get more damage?

    • @PAN--
      @PAN--  9 років тому

      +A CLK cr.mp does more damage and have more frame advantage on block so I would stick to that. Its also easier to do cr.mp cr.mp and confirm.
