  • Jeb is back at it, this time piloting an aircraft to hypersonic speeds and blasting out of the atmosphere to deliver a communications and resource scanning satellite into a polar orbit of Kerbin. It's the start of something big, and there's a surprise at the end.

    Interesting choice of jetliner!!

It's modeled on the B1 Lancer in swept wing mode. I think it turned out pretty good.

I love your videos and your craft. You have a very different building style than I. While I edit the craft file to make it extra cheaty, you actually build stock functioning cheat-free jets, SSTOs, rockets, and (best of al) Starfighters. Keep up the amazing work, and keep the craft coming!

Supposedly, Britain wants to build a jet spaceplane similar to this (for satellite deployments). Interesting to see if they succeed.

Can you put a comment or something with the music credits? Even if it’s copyright free, I would still like to know what it’s called. Also, amazingly realistic craft!

I get pretty much all of my music from the UA-cam creator studio library. Look up "epic cinematic" and that's where the best stuff is.

Hello ! What is the graphic mod that you are using ? I really need, because my PC is not so strong and I want something slight and beautiful for my KSP.

The only problem is that those aren’t strictly jet engines

Well, I didn't see any closed cycle plumes, and the RAPIER engines are able to burn the highest in the atmosphere out of all the jets

Why those type of engines if you're only using air breathing mode? I'm building something similar but for super heavy payloads (Giant fuel pods I use to supply my space station, supplying some thirsty spacecraft)
To save money I wanted a mega SSTO but that seems impractical, instead I'm making a mega aircraft that can punch out of atmo high enough to have enough time to put the fuel pod into orbit. Problem I'm having is I need to modify the fuel pod to have a much higher TWR than it has{Easy fix}, because it can't put it's self into an orbit fast enough. The bigger problem is I crashed a million dollar's worth of mega aircraft in unmanned R&D flight tests. XD

Glad you asked. I tried similar designs with jet engines instead of Rapiers and they flamed out much lower in the atmosphere. Basically the Rapiers in open-cycle mode are the only engine that can blast high enough out into space to launch anything.
