Amazing that it’s her first scene ever, as both actors have to conjure up the look of love. Eleanor’s singing is beautiful but Aidan’s look of pure adoration and the realization that he loves her is just so achingly beautiful. It really is the pinnacle. What a tragic error it was to repeat the scene later on with Hugh in Ross’s place. Who that watched “Love Is Long” didn’t think of this scene?
The best part is that the gossip Teag was trying to embarass Demelza by asking her to perform something thinking she had no talent - serious backfire moment brought forth by someone who is the gossip's polar opposite - the sweet-to-the-heart Demelza.
Binge watched all 5 seasons of Poldark recently and this was my favorite scene of the whole series. Incredible that it was her first scene to film. Beautiful voice.
Omgosh!!!! This makes me so made because aidens voice is so beautiful!! The Irish lilt (and so much happier than gruff deep Ross voice lol). I’m possessed he never gets to use his actual VOICE!!! Damn the UK and US predjudice against scotch Irish and worship accents!!!

Their accents are totally different to how they are in the series. Really respect that. Astounding work. Francis's actor is American, Elizabeth's is Danish (I think).

It shows that Elizabeth and Francis aren't very discerning of other people's characters and are quite vain themselves - at least, that's what I thought when they let them stay for what was clearly supposed to be an intimate Christmas with Ross and his new wife. No worries though - Demelza rises up to the challenge and puts those awful people in their place.

If you ask me, Demelza was the one that raised Ross up. I love Demelza and the way Eleanor plays her.
I'll never forget that scene. It was stunning! In fact, that whole episode is my favorite of the whole series.

yes, but that's why it's so impactful and you ache seeing it. You see exactly what Ross saw too. Some other person in his place.
