Amazing talk by Ken Wilber one of the leading integral Sages of our time. Religion shames people for being authentically proud. False pride is thinking you are better than others and basing your self esteem on others. Authentic pride comes from the Center...from the Pearl of Great Price. Here, Ken teaches us to include yet transcend pride and humility, which are co-emergent opposites that become unified at the integral stage.

Often when I listen to Ken Wilber talking about the evolution that lies in front of us, I really feel fear. When I am listening to him I recognize that I am very close to a life that is just "bigger" than I could imagine just a few years ago.
But my experience has shown that my "lower" parts (my first tier parts) and my "network around me" is not stable enough to let me get into integral or higher worldviews as intense as I want to. So I am afraid of never really realize what i got to touch!

In this context I define light as knowing who you are and darkness with confusion and all the ego games.

Continue to be follower. Look inside of yourself and be as happy as possible, the rest doesnt exist. All of this unstoppable search for happiness will drive you insane, just like this answer.

Does this tribe of the 'leading edge' extend to those of us who are here... motivated to watch (and understand and be fascinated by!) this video, or is he referring to those who are more hardcore studiers of his integral work and go to Wilber's seminar?

Isn't it a wonderful proof of what he is saying the fact that this video has only 5,600 views in almost two years?

Having millions of Hits on Y/T does not neccessarily mean that what you see or hear has any real value.
      Just sayin'

"Wondrous" is the best word to describe what is emergent. Language is flawed of course but 'time will tell where wisdom lies."
Ken Wilber really has the very pulse of this grand transcendent-transforming salient. The Aeon of Horus????

the network around you , they are doing what there doing, Be cause in the matter and choose the path that is calling you. Take a stand and some may want to come along and some will leave, but your freedom and autonomy will soar because your True Self is leading.

...do any of Mr.Wilbers myriad followers ever question the human ability to spout-off about other-worldy and be completely wrong ?

Devine pride only works when the ego is sacrificed to the collective. The ego cannot see the bigger picture because it is limited to the object and cause and effect. It has to have a set of universal principles to become objective. One can have pride that one is trying to make the world a better place, enlighten others etc. It's o.k. to want to be a great sage, guru etc. but being famous does not make one intelligent. One has to be able to help the common man not just the gifted group.

Because most of the world is asleep and doesn't connect to this kind of stuff....Be lucky if you do. Awakening to something greater than the illusion we live in has been my greatest gift of all....These are definitely incredible times to be living in.

6:20 "When foraging went into hunting, when hunting went into horticulture, from horticulture to agrarian, from agrarian into the Enlightenment/rational era." Not sure about the fifth haha!

(LOL) I regularly find it useful to remind myself . . . that I'm not Ken Wilber.
Maybe he's capable of taking full responsibility for what he says in this video . . . and maybe not. I really don't know.
But I DO know . . . that I myself wouldn't be at all inclined to advocate the perspective he does in this video. Seems to ME . . . that it has way too much potential for abuse.
But there you are: I'm not Ken Wilber . . . and he is. Have to leave it at that, I guess.

but I know that this fear arises out of my lack of realization of nonduality. Knowing that I have this part in me that IS already and will always be free is soothing.

Stuff like this can be very compelling to the ego mind. The more I listen to Ken Wilber I feel that he is the opposite of guru. Hes not showing the light, just spreading more darkness. Common new age teacher.

Sorry folks, reality check. Many people thought they were the "one". Many people thought that they were going to be the enlightened ones. The world is what it is, and so is humanity. The only thing that needs to change is those factors which shall outright destroy us. Everything else, simply existence, and ACCEPTANCE is the highest form of enlightenment we can have as a species.
Many of today's youth will be severely disappointed, when they grow old and recognize that it is what it is.

You do not have it just because you are seeking it. You have to transform, and this is where he drops the ball. He tells you nothing about how to do it. He does not know or he would explain other than say then you can be. Total Frad

What the hell are you talking about? Just because nobody answered his question yet doesn't mean it didn't have an answer. The five stages he's talking about are probably the five stages of cultural development as laid out by Jean Gebser: Archaic, Magic, Mythic, Rational, and Integral. For a little insight, read some Joseph Campbell and Gebser. And U.G. Krishnamurti was an old crank.
