    Tom Hiddleston's acting in this scene is uncomparable. The way he goes from a smirky cocky look to a sad sullen lonely Loki is just absolutely phenomenal. This spoke volumes just from a look. Tom Hiddleston is the perfect Loki and this was a great end to this season. Can't wait to see how they intertwine him with Secret Wars.

    I just had a thought, maybe THAT'S why TVA is pruning Lokis because HWR knows he can take over Timeline..

    Loki living for centuries is completely believable, because he's a god thats born to live thousands of years much like his father, he wouldn't go crazy. The whole time he had a goal and knew he had to spend all that time to save Everyone in the timeline, after ALL THAT his plan failed, so it was so easy for him to give himself up to save everyone.

    Seeing as loki is already thousands of years old pre tva its not that big of a stretch that he'd be able to not go crazy with a mere (to him) 100 years. to him it was the equivalent to a really long class session

      @JustGavinBennett  10 місяців тому +3

      I guess thats somewhat true, maybe I just more than anything feel bad for him lol. I just don't see how anyone could go through that but he is a god after all

    The quantum realm is a separate universe (a secret universe within the 616 universe) which would make it 616 adjacent. So yeah, they were referring to that Kang variant.

    Tom Hiddelson desires an award. He might not get an Academy Award but he definitely desires a sci-fi award for best actor in a sci-fi series.
    That said, Cosmic Doom will have a hard time winning in Secret Wars if Loki shows up to the party. Loki is now beyond a cosmic power Captain Marvel or a chaos power Wanda, or even the power of any Celestials. It took Tom more than 12 years playing this character to finally reach this point, to finally became Loki "The God of Stories," ruler of realities within the multiverse. This last scene felt like an opera piece with the music playing as Loki ascended to his throne.

    He's not creating new branches whenever he time travel, he's simply rewinding it that specific timeline.

    • @JustGavinBennett
      @JustGavinBennett  10 місяців тому +4

      Yeah I know it was explained that way but I was expecting a twist where maybe they were wrong and he was accidentally making a ton of new branches but that didn’t end up happening. Some media does time travel that way especially since he’s changing things, even Endgame explains it that way. I guess since it’s the TVA it doesn’t work with Endgames logic

    The “616 adjacent realm” is not a different timeline, it is a realm that follows the 616 timeline, hence the quantum realm. There are multiple realms on one timeline, so there are adjacent realms to a singular timeline.

      Oh true that makes a lot more sense then the TVA changing the name of timelines and branches lmao

    I hope we see God of Stories Loki again in the future, but I think this was a perfect finale for the series, I don't want a season 3.

      Agreed. If they made a season 3, I'd be pissed.
      We'll see Loki at some point in the future, but way in the future.

      Same, I want Loki to appear elsewhere and for them to leave the show. Maybe start a TVA series starring Owen Wilson. Would love it. 😂

    as far as I can tell, the branches die if nothing holds them together. Under 'He Who Remains' the branches were held together by the power of the temporal loom. Once the loom was destroyed the branches began to die off, and so Loki used his own power to keep them alive.

    Here's something that's really gonna bake your noodle: Loki isn't just holding together a singular multiverse... he's holding together multiple multiverses. I've got a theory: as the God of Stories, he could easily rewrite the narrative. He chooses not to do it because he knows the person above him might not like that. Whoever is at the next step in the hierarchy of gods, Loki is not at the top. Loki understands that. He's not sitting on the throne to hold it together. He's sitting on the throne in order to protect those multiverses from the next big bad.

    33:02 For me there was no mistake and there is nobody to blame here. Sylvie literally gave them all "free will" (or tried to give them free will, in the end Loki did oc). You wanna stay as a puppet for HWR? Even if Loki takes his place there would be only one timeline. I rather die and take on all the Kangs and have my free will.
    The multiverse should have a chance to exist and Loki knew that, thats why he sacraficed himself, for a chance. For his friends and everyone else. Remember at the end of ep 2 when they blew up all the branches, B-15 said with a sad voice "those are lifes". Its just wrong to prune timelines in general.

    green timelines loki was holding are where deadpool, wolverine, and tobey maguire are. the purple above is where b level avengers will lose to kangs in kang dynasty. mobius eventually recruits secret wars team and they fight at the terrain loki built at the end of time

    If he allowed he who remains. Killing Silvi wasn't the real problem. That would have meant that no one had free will.

    The way I see it, this is how they explain why the MCU calls itself "616" internally (as in, the characters inside of it says it's "Earth-616"), while other parts of Marvel (comics, animated movies, etc.) calls it "199999" externally (as in, characters viewing the MCU from the outside as part of their larger multiverse calls it "Earth-199999"). It's a "616-adjacent" timeline, because it's the main-canon live-action timeline adjacent to the main-canon comic timeline. Not sure, if I'm right about that or explaining it well either, but that's what I got.
    Got no real words besides that I enjoyed this season and show immensely, and I'm happy Tom Hiddleston and the team got to give his favorite trickster the standalone story he deserved. Hopefully we get to see God of Stories Loki back someday - he's still owed a hug from Thor and a moment to breathe with all his friends, as far as I'm concerned, even if this is it for the show itself. Real glad the Loki fanbase can finally calm their tits and stop arguing as much about who's going to be canonically his love interest. That got very toxic, very fast, holy shit.
