I did with this one! The story behind Ruth's made me want it to win. Regardless, I live in Norway so there is about a 0% chance that I will eat at either place.
@@theorycraft531I've actually heard of Ruth's Chris' before but I've never eaten there. I just remembered seeing it as a kid whilst driving by it with my parents lol
lol it wouldn’t go well for Fleming. Even with hating working at one, RC has a pretty good sweet potato casserole. It’s also highly flammable, so in a pinch would work as a Molotov 😂😂😂 If they had done apps, mmmm lobster bites with sriracha mayo? 😂😂
I'm aware of Link's history with knives... but I still can't believe how he basically shredded those steaks and made it look like it had been macerated.
Link not finishing his steaks is one of the least surprising revelations of 2023. Just give the man a dino nugget and stop making him suffer through steak please.
I have worked at both restaurants, and I definitely prefer the sides at Fleming's over Ruth's. Their spicy creamed corn is a side I make several times a year at home.
It was most likely a compound butter that Ruth's used on the steak at the end of the preparation just before serving with parsley and possibly other herbs.
@@wakemiamigreatagain it's just regular butter and parsley, they put it on right as the steak is plated so that it melts and sizzles all the way to the table. Some of the sides and appetizers at Ruth's use compound butter, but aside from the occasional seasonal item the steaks do not.
Speaking of the mythical cork board. If you collect all 12 pins, you could put a clock mechanism in the middle and then have a mythical clock. 🤷♀️ "It's myth-o-clock!"
I don't think there is a better person to explain the Ruth's Chris' origin story than the one and only Charlie Neal. His way with words is truly maturing with age.
The captions are not synced during the Unhaunted House promo - the episode captions keep going during it, so when it returns to the episode the captions are ahead. Ty for always captioning the vids!! 🙌
The one time I was lucky enough to eat at Ruth’s Chris, it was easily the best steak I’d ever eaten in my life, but for a 3-person meal was $315 - I doubt I’ll ever be going again in my life, but it was a very memorable experience, and that 500 degree plate really makes an amazing difference
My favorite Ruth's Chris meal is lobster bisque, porterhouse for two, crimini mushrooms, veal Osso Buco ravioli, and chocolate sin cake. Porterhouse is by far their best steak.
Interestingly, the Fleming of Fleming's got his start in the restaurant industry as a Ruth's Chris franchisee. [Then started PF Chang's, among other places.]
As a steak house girlie who LOVES a seared filet mignon with accoutrements, this was a fun episode! I only wish they had done a classic shrimp cocktail, loaded potato and wedge salad too 🐮
Why? They have Josh, Nicole and the rest of the crew that are very capable of making aged steaks. Guga doesn't do anything so special that the Mythical Kitchen can't do the same. In fact, I would say that the mythical kitchen crew makes much more complex dishes than Guga on a regular basis.
@@reggeckmann3993 Josh is the man Guga wishes he could be. But alas, Guga will never be able to feed Link a bile cheesecake and watch him suffer in glee. Such is life.

I don't know if it was just me, but at around 12:26 when it changed to R&L promoting their new video, the subtitles continued as if they were showing them eating the dessert round. Even refreshed my browser to make sure I wasn't crazy.
Went to Flemings over in Charlotte and they messed up my food so bad. They mistook “medium rare” for well done. Then wanted to give me a gift card after he already knew we were on vacation and never seen a flemings before. Was such a bad experience for such an expensive steakhouse.
I wanted you guys to know that your show, the wonderful GMM, completely makes my day worth something. I'm at probably the lowest point in my life ever. I watch your videos almost all day everyday. Thank you all so much.

It’s funny at 11:35 link scrapes the plate and apologizes, then while Rhett is chastising link, Rhett scrapes the plate and doesn’t acknowledge it 😂😂 Then right afterwards when they’re rating the Flemings petite filet Rhett scraped again 😂
The crazy thing about this episode is, I've had the lobster bisque from Flemings and it's unbelievable 🙌 Probably the best I've had. And I try that soup all over when it's available. It's literally so good! Maybe because they didn't have it fresh?
Definitely feeling Link this episode. I just don't care for steaks. Even if they were the same price as other dishes, I prefer many other things, but especially when they're 2-3x the price.

Best thing at Ruth’s are the apps as someone who worked there. The newer crab stack is incredible
