Every time I'd hear the Sega genesis theme as a kid I'd rush into the living room and hook up the second controller and me and my older brother would recreate the bulls-knicks matchups (sans Jordan)
Sega CD theme is still the best. I was one of the rare kids who had a Sega CD back in those days and that’s the version I had. I see the envy and jealousy in your eyes...
Not gonna lie but I really like the On Fire Edition one as it really gets the blood pumping. I can't stand EA as a company but that song is probably the best thing they did with the game.
Arcade came out first (this list is super wrong w/ order) and the music wasn't a priority, it was just a background theme. Apparently for the home console ports, the company doing the conversions (Acclaim) didn't have good audio people and approached some professional music guy / team they met a trade show and hired them to make new music for the consoles. And rather than the background basketball hit sound effect beat, they went full on memorable/catchy/in your face 90s sports TV theme... love it.
I don’t like the backing horns on the sega cd version. It added nothing but annoyance. If the producer had kept it out, I think it would’ve been the superior version. I think the SNES version was the best. Again, the CD version sounds awesome because it actually sounded like instruments but the backing horn is ugly.
SNES version is the best one by far, it's not even funny. I don't even understand how some people can say the Genesis sounds better. It's complete garbage.
Good effort man, great video. But you should cut the predictably lame & obnoxious On Fire music and add 32X T.E. instead. SNes apologists...get real, Mega Drive wins this one all day, F*ck Acclaim but Western developers like Midway & EA before they were Satan got the best out of SEGA's sound chip. Super High Impact & Road Rash ftw..

Sega cd main theme seems more epic and closer to something we’d hear during a mid 90’s nba playoff game.

ON FIRE FTW
😎✌️🔥🏀💯
9:30 you thought that nba jam T.E. title screen for snes isn't the same theme as the arcade, i think you're wrong. It is on the team select screen.

I Love The Tournament Edition Arcade Music the best
this montage makes me want to drop 45 points with chris mullin on 15/15 shooting
It's gotta be a montage!!!
Playing this on the job site rn, fucking bangers
Rare when console versions have far better music than the arcade. Sega CD and Super Nintendo are my favs for this track.

@@lamelama22 thank you, top knowledge
What happened to the 32x NBA Jam T.E.
12:01 and beyond > Listen to that soulless, modern trash from EA 🙉
Lmao FACTS
Ppl forget about the 32x
Had it's very own intro and halftime music
genesis is closer to arcade and snes is closer to sega cd
Sega CD FTW

+ravenlondon ROAD RASH 2 music is Amazing!
Well said, friend.
Road Rash III, and Skitchin' are just two great examples of EA's best work on Genesis. They're plenty more hits, especially by Rob Hubbard.
SEGA Genesis, game made after 92', Michael Jackson had a deal with SEGA, game being called Jam, didn't include Michael Jackson's Jam
