Todd, where does one get this Navionic Relief Shading. I'm getting a Garmin 8612xsv with my new boat. I asked at West Marine in Bradenton, and they said they had nothing.
I had a question I have a Simrad go nine and currently have the strike lines for Tampa Bay which shows a ton of detail the only thing that sucks is it kind of only works in Tampa Bay and doesn’t work too well offshore. I’ve been considering the Navionics platinum i’m wondering if you’ve used both at what your thoughts are.
I got the Navionics Platinum + and cannot get the relief shading on my Hummingbird Helix gen4, what am I doing wrong? I check out all the views available and can't find it.
You might have to update the sd card or contact Humminbird to find out what the issue you might be. If you have not picked the land and sea view on the chart settings you might need to go and do that.
Which navionics chip are you using. I just purchased the 632p+ chip for my simrad go9sxe & it is missing the bottom detail for anywhere further than the end of the ship channel. I reported the problem to navionics & they confirmed there is a problem when they tested it on a lowrance & are looking into the reason why. Its been over a week & have not heard back from them. Pretty crappy response for paying $199 for a chip that only gets updates for a year. The android app shows all relief shading but my simrad does not.. You are better off using your phone & the navionocs app as you get the same relief shading at much cheaper cost per year.
I will admit on the Simrad it looks totally different than on the lowrance or Humminbird that I have used the Navionics on. When you zoom in on the lowrance or Humminbird it zooms all the way in but not on the Simrad
Great Video! thanks for explaining the fishing strategy
Thank you for watching!
Great tips! Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
damn you gave my secret out Todd 😝

The Navionics is not compatible with any Garmin machines according to the compatibility chart on the Navionics website.
Is relief shading only good for saltwater?
Can this work in the Caribbean as well?

Yes I have used both. Strikelines has some good things about it as does the Navionics.
