    Great review. You experienced virtually the same issues I did with the Eagle LE. I still have problems connecting by WiFi, always takes two or three goes whether I use my mobile, tablet or laptop, also when I used my old windows 8.1 laptop it used to drop out a bit but since replacing that laptop I have never had a problem with that. The power supply is expensive but it does supply over 10A of power. All PLL gear is expensive but it is quality. The Eagle controlers seem to have dropped in price recently, they are still expensive but personally I think they're worth it for the versatility of the hard and software you can use with them. I also like the heavy duty construction not the least the power connectors. I haven't fitted the optional dew heater control module to mine as the inbuilt presentable variable voltage output sockets seem to do the job well enough. My set up is a bit simpler than yours so the LE is perfectly capable of running it and comes in at just over half the price. If I had a full observatiry setbup I would probably go with the Eagle 5 though.
    I do have an ASIAir mini for use with my grab and go DSLR set up and it works great too. But the fact that you can only use ZWO soft and hardware ( except the mount and some dslrs) with it limits its appeal to me.

      Thanks for the comment, sounds like you have a great setup. I finally sorted my connection issue I plugged my main pc into the lan which has worked well. I think it’s a security issue from what I’ve read but as I have the power internet there was a free lan slot I thought I’d try that and it stayed connected for hours without any disconnecting issues 😅 it is a lovely piece of kit, the craftsmanship is second to none 😊 thanks for watching my channel I really appreciate it 🙏

      thanks for the comment 😁yeah i was super happy with it. it was a bit frustrating setting it all up at times but, as we all know it never goes smooth with new kit. i'm looking forward to making the next few videos, i will be actually imaging in the night on the next video, i just need to make more time for the editing. i had a crazy week at work last week and then needed to cram 14 hrs of footage into 20 minutes 🤣

    Great video, and some nice new kit, 😮dont worry about the dust, we all have that, that’s what flat frames are for, also canned air it not good as it contains moisture…so beware with that…
    With your set up 5 min long subs would be fine, no need to go any longer
    But you have some great kit there…i use a Remote Desktop app on my iPad to connect to my mini PC on the mount, and works well

Once your first images come through you will love it 😁I have just received a delivery of a new toy again so I’ll post this weekend. Where in the world are you? Hopefully somewhere with no clouds.

    Hey Tom. Great setup. I am glad to see that your SSAG is working so good. Mine has been junk right out of the box. I cant even get a 15 second exposer without all the star streaking about an inch. I have been back and forth with Celestron. They finally agreed to take it back under warranty as defective and send me a new one. Could you tell me what imaging software that you are using. It looks rather easy to use. I am using NINA and for me it is a bit tricky. Thanks!

    • @Learn_astrophotography
      @Learn_astrophotography  10 місяців тому

      Thanks for your comment, so what I have found with the SSAG is if you live view at the same time as guiding it will stop your guid which causes problems, I just guide and don’t bother with the live view. I use the ASI studio deep sky imaging, I was running 3 programmes which were PHD2, CPWI and ASI for imaging. And Stellarium for deciding what targets to go for. I have t tried NINA just yet but I will use it just to make a video for the channel, I hope your SSAG works for you once you get it back 🤞

    • @darbycarpenter3032
      @darbycarpenter3032 10 місяців тому

      I have never used live view so there is no reason that it should not guide. I am just waiting for Celestron to send me a RMA number so I can send the SSAG back to them for a diagnosis. Hopefully I can get 10/20 minute exposers also when I get it back. I am going to take a look at the ASI software. It looks relatively simple to use.@@Learn_astrophotography

    Hello and thank you for such an instructive and interesting video. I inyend to buy one Eagle at the end of this year. I was wondering whether it can be managed with an android app with WIFI? Does it have a dedicated android app? In case you managed to run it with a tab, let me know how.

    • @Learn_astrophotography
      @Learn_astrophotography  9 місяців тому +1

      Thank you for your comment, yes you can run it through all systems you just need to download a remote access point, here is the site to link to android www.primalucelab.com/blog/support/eagle-remote-control-android-controllo-remoto/ I hope this helps, it’s a great system, I have the Zwo ASIair plus which runs the AM5 but it wouldn’t work on my CGX mount hence getting the Eagle which I absolutely love. I hope it you enjoy when you get one. 👍

      @@Learn_astrophotography I didn't expect such a prompt reply. It's highly appreciated 😃😃! The pricetag dissuades me from buying for now. There are three systems and this one is the most expensive, compared to an ASIAIR and a Stellarmate Pro. Thanks a lot for the link

      Your welcome, I was on here when your message came through I’m not always that quick 😀 the ASIair is a cracking system, and really very reasonable on price, you certainly get a lot for your money when it comes to Zwo

    • @No_no83
      @No_no83 9 місяців тому +1

      @@Learn_astrophotography Definitely when it comes to the ASIAIR. The only downside is certainly the restriction to other astronomy related brands. I'm also considering a mini pc with a Pegasus PPBA V2. It's a good match too and I think that they have a combined weight ,less than that of an Eagle device

    • @Learn_astrophotography
      @Learn_astrophotography  10 місяців тому +1

      The ASI is an independent unit, works well with ZWO items but you are limited to its capabilities, the Eagle is ultimately a powerful windows pc packed into a tiny box. The ASI didn’t work with my setup so I use the eagle on the C11 and I can run any Astro program with ease, weather that be NINA, CPWI, ASI Studio, PHD or any other program, I also run DSS to calculate star numbers to confirm everything will stack, the ASI air plus I have on my AM5 but I haven’t been able to use this setup just yet, this makes me slightly biased as I love the Eagle so far. I hope this helps 👍

    • @Learn_astrophotography

      thanks for the comment. I know right, it is an expensive hobby, my wife's a gem, as long as she gets her wages she don't mind to much what i buy 😅 Yeah i wanted to push the new system and see the limits, it worked out really well. i want to make a video using the magic eye as a dark reference, one night imaging 10 minute frames and another night with 5 minute frames and compare the difference, i'm thinking the 10 mins will be easier to process on PS but the end result might be the same, i shall where my lab coat for that experiment 🤣
