I enjoyed the added pictures with player types. Although you many times describe the player type, the pictures were a nice addition and reminder of who you are dealing with. Thank you for another great blog.
Thanks, but after some thought I decided it’s not the greatest of ideas. Some might be offended or play differently by knowing my perceived opinion on their style. So consider everyone as unknowns unless specified from now on.
I see some improvements in the video editing this week. The higher resolution pics, the bink screen cap, slow walking the action to better align with the commentary, and sound effects. It's all pretty slick! I always enjoy the vlogs, but I hope you know some of us appreciate the component efforts that make the vlog.
Great as always! Out of all the poker vloggers, you mention physical tells the most. You should write a book on it; the current ones are all quite old now. :)
It wouldn't be in his best interests as a player to do this, I'm sure people who play with him also watch his videos. Once you spot someone's tell you don't say a word. If you want to learn these watch people when they bet, see how they act when putting chips in. Some people react differently when bluffing/semi-bluffing, versus when they have it. I know one person at my game who always raises his chin up before betting when he has it.
There are many tells out there, I’ve have read just about every book on the subject. Things haven’t changed much over the years. I have found tells not mentioned in any of my readings, I am sure there are many more out there. Observation is the key, watch people while they play, you will discover things if you look for them.
Normally I would do exactly that, out of the corner of my eye I picked up that he liked the turn. Thought he made a straight or 2 pair. Either way, I expected him to bet river.
9:37 I like your play here on flop (A9d). Raise with all those outs makes only sense. Laggy does not have much, neither the flatter. So, get them now while they're little. And huge draw would do its work, once in a while.
Wondering if you ever consider implementing the over bet? It seems that there are various spots in most of your vlogs where it could be a profitable option. Thanks.
My experience in 20 years of playing is that it becomes more distracting than anything else. Thers plenty to do just tracking the betting and position and following thru with your line regardless of you holding. It always, no matter what comes down to the question 'does he have it?"
There are several theories of betting. I believe blind aggression works well in many circumstances, but when it doesn’t it is very costly. I try to pick my spots and be selectively aggressive. I’ve had fairly good success at lower limit games. Only time will tell if it works in larger games.
77: I think I would have x-raised instead of betting out on a 653 flop. After making that assertion, I checked solver. It checks this hand 93% (check-calls 73% and check-raises 27%) and entire range 96% vs a loose calling range. The loose LJ can have all the sets; I am not sure you can from UTG. Loose villain might even have 74s or 42s. Assuming a range wide enough to have the straights, and updating solver to reflect that assumption, interestingly, the solver checks an even higher percentage of hands (this hand: 99%, range: 98%), but check-raises this hand slightly more (30%).
When calling the lag all in with KK, you’re actually behind in equity 45-55. I realize you were going on a read, but that was a lot of chips to avoid so many outs on turn and river. I’m folding KK in that spot but just one omc’s opinion.
Without the read I have to fold. Most of his jams are beating me or have tons of equity. He flopped the biggest draw possible and we were flipping. He would do the same with a lesser draw to. That’s why lags are so tough to play against.
@@dougmccuskerpokerfunny, love playing vs LAGs, easiest for me to take chips from. I find that you have to adjust your style. ie you’re more of TAG/shark, likewise for me too. But going vs LAGs, I adjust to loose passive and range is wider. Let him lead the way while I set the trap. On KK vs J8 ♣️, would’ve been easy fold for me. He could’ve had easily A-rag in that spot. Find a better spot, if board didn’t have over card, I’m fine w calling w over pair vs straight/flush draws. Have LAG at home game, I’ve stacked him so many times now I’ve converted to him to OMC 😂 he does from time to time revert back to LAG but I can sense when. BTW 77 hand, that’s either check-raise/fold for me, calling wouldn’t have been option.
@@dougmccuskerpoker I’m thinking of making another visit. I really need to find a game that has a rake, or if it charges by time doesn’t play lots of bomb pots
Poker god 1- let’s give Doug an overpair vs a lags top pair so he can earn bank Poker god 2- let’s do it. Oh shit he misplayed it perhaps and didn’t raise? Hmmm f it let’s just give him set over set on a non-flush or straight board. Poker god 1- done.

@Doug McCusker Poker So I love you emojis! But what do you with a player like me who reps all of those those styles depending on as u know many factors. Most people loose unless they get really lucky.
I like how your intro shows a bunch of poker books but then in your play you never use any of the vocabulary and use terms like "i put him on" and "dont think he has too much".
I was at the local Sonic fast food joint while watching this and they have no restroom. So I went behind the joint and took a huge, nasty and smelly one while sitting on a random Home Depot bucket they had out back and enjoyed this atrocious display of how NOT to play poker.
I enjoyed the added pictures with player types. Although you many times describe the player type, the pictures were a nice addition and reminder of who you are dealing with. Thank you for another great blog.

@@dougmccuskerpoker Sounds like a wise move to me. I’ll be watching regardless, sir.
Good vlog, another nice session. On the first hand I think you are missing a bet on the river. You are likely getting called by a Q
If he had a queen, I think he was betting. But firing river is fine, hard to put me on a hand. May get called light.
Great session!! The cash register sound bite was epic!!
Lucky catch and that’s the sound I heard in my head when I saw it. 😀
set over set, that will work bro, nice, when that happens its always a lovely feeling, yum yum, regards
Got lucky and got paid. 😀
Another great vlog! You must have made no mistakes as Zeus had no instructions for you when you went over the hands with him.
Nice win especially after bing out-drawn on that big hand to put you in the hole.
Thanks Mike, been a while since I’ve seen you in the comments.
Def tough facing a combo draw. I’ll gladly take the combo draw any day. Good stuff on your sesh’s
I do enjoy watching the velox you produce they have good content as always good luck to you at the table
Thank you for watching and the comment. 😀
Good tight vlog, Doug!
Cool sunset
It was amazing!

People don't change that much, so tells don't either, although I know a couple of tells that aren't in Mike Caro's book...
It wouldn't be in his best interests as a player to do this, I'm sure people who play with him also watch his videos.

Really enjoy your VLOGs.
In that first hand, I shifted to value betting rather than letting V bet. Get called a lot more than them betting.
Normally I would do exactly that, out of the corner of my eye I picked up that he liked the turn. Thought he made a straight or 2 pair. Either way, I expected him to bet river.
Wow, first comment!! Great Vlog once again!!!!

I do use it occasionally, playing against stronger opponents with a polar range.

Interesting, I would think giving a free card with a small over pair would not be a good idea against 2 opponents.
Great play 🎉🎉
Thanks. 😀
Oops missed with the post flop down bet.
Gotta go at least pot there?
Lag player was fav with j 8 clubs but with $ in pot right call
He could have many draws, he just happened to have the best one. Still we were flipping.

Is it becoming like some of the bloggers. Mostly just winning and winning with showing mostly just the good hands or low beats ? Just asking
My results are posted every year and anyone can see the results. I can not speak for others, but I show an accurate depiction of my play.

At least the poker gods didn’t give him 42 for a straight on the A35 flop!

Most people loose unless they get really lucky.
You would be a shark by adjusting and adapting to your opponents.
Yup.....thats the goal!
If he's such a LAG why not punish him pre flop with the kings.
By over calling who knows what he has?
If you made the pre flop action.... he goes away with that J8s?
He would have definitely have called with J8s, I raised small to keep his whole range in. Im willing to gamble with KK vs his range any day.
@@bbuzek1 he calls all day
I always add up the blinds the limps or over calls and with your hand in position I add 3.x Biggs to all of that.
J8 folds!
I'd consider not bluffing 77 on K64ss into 4 people. Pretty big leak imo
Probably not the best idea
No your wrong he won the pot if he does not bet he loses
