    Hi Desiree, can you give an update on where you are now in your progress? Also, given what you know now would you recommend getting a four year aviation degree and then applying to the cadet program or is it truly for beginners. Thank you for being an inspiration and responding to comments. It is so helpful.

      Hey Michelle 😃🤗 thank you for your kindness! It makes me happy to know my videos help and inspire others because that is the reason why I made them. Training in an accelerated program like the cadet academy is intense! Is non stop studying and getting everything done ✅ on time. I’m currently a little bit more than half way through the Commercial License, after that I’ll do CFI, CFII and Multiengine rating and done 🙌🤩. For me the hardest thing has been being a new mother and starting the academy with a 6 months old baby hasn’t been easy at all. He’s 15months now, but if I can do it, others without that huge responsibility can do it too! 💯 🙌. You don’t have to do your aviation degree to apply, so I think is better if you apply and do that already and then you can start your degree 🤗, that way as you fly you can continue to accumulate hours throughout the process of getting your degree as well. I will share everything when I’m done with school, anything that can help! 🙌

      Martin Berezowski Martin Berezowski Hi Martin! 😃 thank you so much! it makes me happy to know that sharing my experience while applying to this program can help. Regarding your questions, once I got accepted, I was sent all the information to apply for a student loan. I was originally applying with a scholarship, but since I didn’t get it, I’ll have to ask the bank for the student loan. The AA partner school that you choose to study with will help with that, and I believe that the loan will cover all the training expenses and supplies. The cost of the program varies depending on the partner school you choose, and if you’ll be adding housing the cost can be higher:
      www.aacadetacademy.com/CadetAcademy/program_costs/1
      Also, regarding previous experience, no, I didn’t have any previous flight certification like the PP, I only did my Discovery Flight ✈️ with a local instructor to make sure flying was for me, and about 7 hours in a Learjet 45 flight simulator with my dad who works as a flight instructor for CAE.
      The program doesn’t require any previous experience 😊 that’s the cool part, that they can train you from zero to Hero, but it would be nice to at least do the discovery flight to make sure flying is something you really want to do. 😃

      Desiree Cortez Again thank you so much for your information and time!! I am hispanic and I feel so good to know your story and motivates me to give it a chance, I am afraid of applying for the AA cadet program and fail getting into it. But I will try. Tomorrow I will schedule my Admission Flight with ATP to see how I feel behind the commands. Thank you again. Have a nice one!!

    • @desireercortez
      @desireercortez  4 роки тому +3

      Martin Berezowski if this is your true passion and a true desire of your heart, don’t let fear of failure stop you from pursuing what you want. It is better to try and fail than not trying at all and then wonder for the rest of your life “what if”.... I was afraid to fail too, but I also thought, if I fail, I’ll be one step closer because I’ll know more about the recruiting process and prepare better to apply again somewhere else, like with other airlines as Southwest, Delta, United, etc... 😊 there are so many opportunities within aviation right now that it is worth it to give it a try.
      I was also afraid for the fact of being Hispanic, specially because is an industry mainly white dominated in the U.S, but if you’re confident and you know you’re going to do great no matter where you come from there’s no need to be afraid because of that either. If your English is good, and you’re willing to pay the price to study and learn whatever is necessary you’ll succeed 😃👏🙌💫. Good luck! Let me know how it goes.

      green Caulfield it is not a disadvantage at all. This program is designed to train you from Zero to Hero. They’ll teach you absolutely everything you need to know to become a successful and well skilled pilot. I saw the first Cadet who graduated and is working for Envoy, and he has a MBA, so the type of degree background doesn’t matter. I don’t know everything and I haven’t start the program yet until July 10th this year, so what I’m doing is just reading basic Private Pilot theory to have an idea already about the topics I’ll be learning the first couple of weeks but even I wrote the school and they told me they’ll teach everything during the course. 😊

Does a college education on top of a AA cadetship program helpful to land a job? And is the AA Cadet academy enough to become a pilot? High school junior over here trying to have my parents be proud of me while they are still alive hope to get an answer thanks in advance.

    • @desireercortez
      @desireercortez  4 роки тому

      Hi 😃. You need a high school diploma to apply. That’s the minimum. The AACA is enough to become a pilot and complete all the required ratings, however, according to interviews and conversations I’ve had with other pilots, if you only have a high school diploma and you complete all your pilot ratings to work for an airline, you can land a job with a regional airline, but get stuck in there because you can only eventually become captain and apply to work for a major airline if you hold both your ATP ratings and a bachelors degree. But don’t take only my word for it, if you know pilots or people in aviation ask around and I’m sure they’ll give you more details 😃👍

      @@fleeswervinn7111 Hi! I also got accepted into the AACA. I had my interview back in August and even the interviewer clarified in the interview that you do not need a college degree to work at American Airlines or United Airlines. Delta is the only one that still requires one. It is nice to have one as a backup but not required to go to those major airlines. Don't lose hope and I hope knowing this helps you go forward if college is simply not for you or you don't have to money to dedicate towards it. I do want to point out though that since you will not have a college degree on your AACA application work towards putting good high school grades on your application. Good Luck!

      @desireercortez  4 роки тому +1

      AkanSHA SinHA hi 😃 that’s a very good question. This is the website of the academy where they describe the qualities they’re looking for in a pilot:
      www.aacadetacademy.com/CadetAcademy/Index
      When I went to the in person interview in Dallas, I met applicants with different backgrounds, but we all had something in common:
      ✅Love and passion for Aviation, specially flying
      ✅Age 18 and up +
      ✅The ability to study and work in the U.S without restrictions
      ✅A valid Passport
      Regarding background, the minimum is to have a high school diploma, there were some guys there with only that and they did great. Other applicants had bachelor’s degrees, or a private pilot license already as well. I think the ones who only have a high school diploma can start in the academy and along the way start a bachelors degree of their choice to be able to eventually work for major airlines or be elegible to become captains.
      Hope that helps 😃👍
