If by vancouver, you mean in Washington state, then there is a store I go to all the time here in Seattle about 3 hours north of Vancouver. It's called International Model Toys and its all gunpla, paint, and supplies! The owner Tom is a good friend of mine at this point and he is such a kind man. You should definitely check it out!

I liked every entry simply because I really miss events like this one especially because of the pandemic. This brings back memories.

WFM is an easy skip. The MC has what can only be identified as Asperger's until she gets into a mobile suite that resembles a mecha Pokémon more than a Gundam, to then becomes a Mary sue. In addition to the other MC queer bait pandering and taking advantage of a mentally ill girl, the few male characters are reduced to low iQ misogynists or if intelligent, villainous and unlikable while where one would think the very intentional girl-boss roster would provide a bit more inspiration actually translates to squawking, insufferable, immature brats. Aside from characters the plot, setting and narrative are actually quite stupid also. WFM is an absolute embarrassment to the universe.
While I definitely think WFM is heavily overrated, it's not like the rest of the gundam franchise is known for having good plot or likeable characters so saying it's pretty par for the course in that aspect.
@@OGGangstaT There clearly are bad iterations, not just WFM. But to say the franchise as whole doesn't deliver is delusional. The ones that are good, are some of the best not just within Gundam but rather all of animated entertainment. Like Stardust Memory, War in the Pocket and 08th MS Team. These are the benchmark. And compared to them WFM utter trash.
@@Sepheryx I won't lie, I haven't watched any of the ones you listed. But the popular "mainstream" ones that churn out a lot of kits like the original, wing, seed/seed destiny, g gundam (lol), 00, and wfm have all been subpar at best. I'm still making my way through all of them but from everything I've watched up to this point, I wouldn't classify a single one of them as good never mind great. And worse of all almost all of them just copy past the exact same plot point with a new coat of paint. I can always count on there being some super secret gundam project at the beginning to hook viewers in, edgy/angsty main character, some psychic magic pilot bullshit, some mediocre char clone, and of course the big space laser wmd to finish the arcs. So as far as I'm concerned, the franchise as a whole is completely mediocre and the animated series are there to push kit sales (which is appropriate considering gunpla literally saved the franchise from its original cancellation status). I'd consider actual good spinoffs/storylines within the franchise to be outliers at this point.
@@OGGangstaT Again, because Good Gundam iteration do exist, generalizing the franchise as a whole is irrational and unfair. it sounds as if your not even qualified to criticize based off of your little understating of what the franchise has to offer. There are many more than the ones I mentioned. Turn A Gundam, Gundam Thunderbolt and Hathaway's Flash are all masterpieces. Then is F91 and The Origin which are top notch. You're welcome
@@Sepheryx Lol this elitist perspective is the exact reason why gundam is so off-putting to casual viewers. The series I listed alone are already almost 400 episodes worth of gundam and you're telling me that I'm still not qualified to make any amount of judgement and that it's "unfair" and "irrational" to make a generalization about the franchise based on that amount of content? No, a few good outliers don't make up for the dozens of misses and recycled storylines. I've never seen a franchise that so blatantly repeats the exact same story. And the reason why it's like that is because the series are just a way to introduce the actual breadwinners of the franchise: the model kits
