The Spellshop was a fluffy book that cleared my dark fantasy corruption fog. Loved Caz and Meep so much...iykyk.

I keep thinking about trying Spellshop! BUT I usually end up disappointed with witch books...so I am hesistant to try it. Would you mind telling me if there is any LGBTQ representation in the book? Any trigger warnings? Any info would be greatly appreciated

I had a few of these as ARCs - The Spellshop and Phoenix Keeper were super sweet and easily enjoyable, and the T. Kingfisher is a typical enjoyable T. Kingfisher story so I’d recommend them all! And I’m going to put Ghost Cat on my TBR!

I read Ryan Graudin's Wolf by Wolf duolgy two years ago and really liked it. Didn't know that she had a new release coming up, thanks for the heads up! Also, I'm so excited for Ghostsmith, can't wait for the 13th!

I want to add one to keep on some's radar.
Ami, the sequel to Zhara, is part of a series that's what they describe as Sailor Moon meets Cinder.

I got to read Long Live Evil early and had fun with it! It is campy and silly at times but I enjoyed it.

I've enjoyed other books by Sarah Rees Brennan so I'm looking forward to Long Live Evil. I'm currently reading Emily Wilde's Map of the Otherlands and I'm thinking about reading Spellshop next. It seems like a good book to bridge the summer and autumn. I've been over summer since mid-June when I came home from vacation to Phoenix's record breaking temps. I've been reading cozy books to try to pretend the heat is over. 😂 I recently said goodbye to my 19 year old kitty, so I don't think I can read ghost cat. I'm excited for the new T. Kingfisher book and Wisteria.

I'm hoping Long Live Evil delivers; it sounds really amusing, kind of ala Hench.

I am excited for "The Blackheart Man" by Nalo Hopkinson, published on the 20th of August and "The Dollmakers"by Lynn Buchanan, inspired by Fullmetal Alchemist, published on the 13th of August.
Unfortunatelly they will only arrive in September here in UK.

As far as for something in the lane of The Pheonix Keeper, I'm pretty sure I've seen somewhere that there is an anime about a pet shop for mythical creatures and that there is a book about being a vet for supernatural creatures. I can't find them, though. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

oh hey the reincarnated/transmigrated villainess trope is already making its way to the west (i know there's a bunch in RR but i haven't tried any of them yet). this trope saturates the korean webcomic/novel market, they're basically all the same story but i still eat that shit up
