A good video. It's clear that you did your research on the topic. I honestly didn't know that these places exist. Most of the other abandoned places videos have the same subjects, you did something different. I can only applaud that. Thanks and keep on the good work!

Another great video. So many interesting places have been abandoned. I'm sure some of them could be rejuvenated, although some are probably best left abandoned.
The Assy-turgen observatory sound the most interesting. I certainly think there is more to it than is readily apparent.

The Castle Merle looked familiar to me - and then it hit me. It's been used as the basis for a lot of ruined castles in Mike Mignola's 'Hellboy' and 'B.P.R.D.' comic books. It's a very good idea to avoid any castles in Hellboy's world.

Fort Carroll had wild weed plants growing on it from where someone planted them to harvest, or maybe just dropped some seeds. They may still be growing there if DNR has not found out yet. It's hard to get on, and has tunnels underneath. I live on Stoney Creek not far from there.

I know a cool abandoned place in my state.
Because my shovel dug open the entry. Its
inside Church Mountain in Washington. I'd
dug a 1.5 meter square meter hole amid an
unusual rain forest surface feature. A slab
of stone was revealed and when lifted a dark
entry was found. To a room inside bedrock.
One of several beside an underground water
drainage. I never saw the end of it. Logging
crews asked me to not use the access road
until their tree harvest ended. When I returned
I found the dug entry had been used as their
toilet. 30 adults doing day jobs on that road
for 15 months left me a lot of stink.

Enjoyed your video and naration of some cool places plus their histories.
I agree that the observatory at number one is most likely military, who knows what they are "observing".
It's a shame the castle in number nine is being/was demolished, a lot of unique architecture and history bulldozed.

Suggestion: Fisher's Island, Long Island Sound. At the southern end is a former fort of sorts. When I was stationed on the Coast Guard station there was a bunker at the fort with a collection of 30's and 40's automobiles. It would be interesting to see it once again. One year Renee' Dupont and some friends hired a band called "The Mustangs", (I think this must have been 1965 or 6), and we had a rock and roll blast well into the night.

@World Unearthed I hear there's an abandoned military base here in Minnesota. It was used for ammunition manufacturing. While there is still an operating military base nearby that owns it... Aaaand getting inside is very unlikely, it still sits there being unused. I wonder what other Abandoned or unused locations there are here?

Just an observatory. If you want more interesting domes associated with classified programs, look for imagery of the Terra-3 site at Shary Sagan, Kazakhstan. ;) But I don't think much remains. The programs were abandoned in the 1980s.

Billed as the ultimate reuse story, the Satsop Business Park has successfully transformed from an almost-finished nuclear power plant to an industrial center, technology campus, and workforce training center.
In the 1970s, Satsop was part of one of the most ambitious nuclear power plant construction projects in the U.S., at least until the Washington Public Power Supply System (WPPSS), or as some say “Whoops,” defaulted on 2.25 billion dollars in bonds. The project was plagued with cost overruns, and construction stopped in early 1982 leaving the plant unfinished but more than half complete, with monstrous cooling towers and mostly-complete reactor containment domes. The much-publicized Three Mile Island nuclear accident in 1979 didn’t help public relations efforts either. As the decade drew to a close, the project was mired in lawsuits that would last for years. To shed its bad image, WPPSS changed its name to Energy Northwest in 1998.
The plant, which had been built to withstand a massive earthquake, was left standing. Seeing the potential of the unfinished site, area leaders formed the Grays Harbor Public Development Authority to transition the plant into a business park. In 2013, it handed over ownership to the Port of Grays Harbor, which now manages the community-owned facility. Reuse has brought an eclectic mix of business and activity to the campus, ranging from a world-class acoustical lab to film shoots to an impressive tunnel training site used by the City of Seattle Fire Department.
