  • Liam’s Tiny Guitar is being problematic. In the instructional live video from the manufacturer it states to tune the strings up an octave. This has allowed me to set the intonation (roughly) and have the strings fee much left floppy but there is one HUGE problem: it keeps breaking the high (bottom) E string. I have tried 8 9 10 and 11 gauge and they have all snapped…Steve times.
I have made sure the string tree, tuning post, and nut are smooth without any sharp edges. The string breaks in between the tuning peg and the 3rd fret (hard to tell exactly where). The ball end is intact in all instances. I fear the strings just can’t hold the tension of E5?
Any ideas would be eagerly received by me.

There is no solution, other than a normal guitar.

What is the scale length? I know people who build 17-inch scale instruments tune to ADGCEA with standard guitar strings.

@@RattlecanGuitarRestorations That’s definitely ukulele scale. There are some string gauge calculators online you can use to find the right gauge for the tension you need.
