Thats interesting 😅 most of the retro fit b vent through roof installs I've seen are hack, same with electric masts, it's funny that these guys who think they know so much about a trade can't even figure out how to tie into a shingle roof 🤦♂️ a jack of all trades, master of none, still better than a master of one. Fits perfect for that 👌
My house was built in '86. This is the exact same B-vent used for my furnace & water heater. One exhaust pipe for both. I don't believe that is done anymore because of code & high-efficiency equipment.
It's called vent sizing, b vent is common for natural draft and induced draft equipment
we are getting water in between the 2 pipes, leaking down onto the top of the hot water heater. Went onto the roof but all looks good. Storm collar is down and caulked, etc. It was a hard storm so maybe it was wind-blown rain that got under the cap and traveled down the outside of the inside pipe? Maybe add some sheet metal to keep rain from getting up underneath the cap?
Can you get a picture and send it to me on Facebook, Grand Roofing Inc. of the section of pipe between the storm caller and the roof.

Did one a few weeks ago, it needed a split boot, it had a sideways regular boot caulked to the top of the shingles lol homeowners said the electrical company did it and they thought it didn’t look right

What about when a roofer tears down a masonry chimney that has a chimney liner and stubs it into a turtle vent.....
What is the big chimney looking steel box behind the boojie vent called? I have to fix mine because it has a few holes now and it’s made out of steel. What is the actual name? Thank you.
