    The things hands were the most difficult. Good looking figure, and the colors are awesome!
    Great tutorial as well. Easy to follow, excellent tips, and the great presenter really knows her stuff!

    We will be having our Boneclaw paint night tomorrow and we have only 1 kit left. We are a bit behind schedule but I'm really excited for the next one as well the Chimera they are my favorite so far.

    Just discovered this channel. I am very impressed -- you should have many more subscribers! Great explanations as you paint -- it helps to know why you are doing each step. Mostly, thank you for choosing the larger scale models and showing what can be accomplished with brush work alone.

    I chose to make mine a bit more gory with hot glue and more blood splatter. Thanks for the help

    What is a good water to paint ratio when having to mix?

    • @denofimagination
      @denofimagination  2 роки тому

      You have to "feel it". The ratio is different when airbrushing and when painting. Try to find your own recipe. If making a base coat it should be the most liquid you can get but still not translucent.

    This might be a bit beyond my skill level. Can't get a decent base coat to save my life

    • @denofimagination
      @denofimagination  2 роки тому +1

      If making a base coat is difficult you should thin your paint with water. It is more effective to put more thin layers of paint than to put one thick, messy one. Also, try to work with the paint consistency on the back of your hand. It should be the most liquid you can get but still saturated and vibrant. Not recommending trying to test the paint on the white paper bc you won't get the fair results.

    my skin wash was more yellowish brown than the one in the video sadly :( I did poorly

    • @denofimagination
      @denofimagination  2 роки тому

      nahhh, don't worry! Maybe you should put a little glaze on hands with the brightest color to achieve more satisfying effect?

    This thing was a nightmare for me to paint...flesh?bone?

  • @andyrobin7196
    @andyrobin7196 2 роки тому +1

    this is ridiculously complicated, 4 steps just for the skin?

    • @denofimagination
      @denofimagination  2 роки тому

      Not that complicated tho - most of it are fast techniques such as drybrush. The skin is 40% of the whole miniature so making it look good is the biggest principle in painting the mini. With all those steps you can achieve biggest contrast and the figurine looks better.

      @@denofimagination i guess im just annoyed that my drybrushing didnt work and his skin is still brown even after all those steps

      @@andyrobin7196 what type of brush did you use? Wide or round? Did you dip the whole tip in the paint? Maybe the amount of the paint on the brush wasn't enough? Or maybe you wiped the brush too much right before starting to paint? I would really like to help you with solving the problem.

    • @andyrobin7196
      @andyrobin7196 2 роки тому

      @@denofimagination its just the thin brush that came with the paint kit, i just cant understand the drybrush part. the person in the video seemingly wipes off all the paint on a paper towel and then somehow still paints the whole thing white, when i wipe off my brush theres no paint left so i tried doing it with more paint and it looked like it was turning grey but after it dried its all still brown but now its shiny.

    • @denofimagination
      @denofimagination  2 роки тому +1

      @@andyrobin7196 I think it's mostly the brush that is the problem here. Out painter used wide brush that is made for the drybrush technique. Yes, the painter wipes off almost most of the paint (it shouldn't be leaving any or a little trace on the paper) but if you use that thin brush from the box the effect won't be the same. The model is shiny because you "glossed it" with lots of brush strokes. But dont worry, even a thin layer of the brush will cover it. I recommend you changing the brush or trying to glaze the color - it will be more difficult tho. Hope that helps!
