Really enjoyed this one! I'm a sucker for back story and what motivates people to do what they do. This was a wonderful peek into the window of how the Caldera came to be. I'm newer to ZMF than many, but am rapidly becoming a fan of what you all are doing and how you do it. The Caldera isn't in the budget for me just yet, but I've slowly been working my way through the ZMF family tree and feel like I've found my happy headphone place!
I find all the elements inspiring - your journey, the filming, shots of headphones, and the excitement of Caldera. Makes me really want to get a Caldera, even though I already own a LTD Atrium and a LTD VC. Thank for what you do, Zach.
zmf auteur with dark wood and bronze plate was the absolute best looking phone ever. Any brand, any model ever produced, that particular combination of material, colors and design was the best looking headphone ever.
Wow, I've always been in love with planars. Ever since I got my first planar, the LCD-2C, I've just fallen for the distinct sound that it provides. Nothing can quite match the punch that planar technology can provide. I've always admired the ZMF headphones but I couldn't go for anything but planar. But this is most definitely one set I have to get on my hands on! And these are truly a work of art, you have really outdone yourself Zach!!
Amazing story of passion and determination, really inspiring. Haven't yet got a chance to try out any of your products (living in Italy) but sure hope to be able one day to afford one. Even tho I'm usually a fan of more industrial/modern looking designs (like hd800 or dca aeon) I really think that your stabilized headphones are straight up a work of pure art, by far the most beatiful headphones out there. Wish you the best, keep on going, keep on experimenting and mostly hope you're still enjoying your job.
Nice. I have your Aeolus, and Auteur (B stock); original owner of each. I'll eventually spring for your Atrium. But those Caldera grills look awesome, I really like the design.
I'm torn on the what pads to get with the Caldera. I have protruding ears, so I'm afraid if I get the thin pads then my ears will touch. That's sort of a problem I have with the Verite Closed. I really enjoy the sound of the Auteurs and Verite pads, but I stick with the Eikon Lambskin (which sound great in their own right) because they're thick enough to give my dumbo ears room. I'd like to try the thin, but will probably just go with the Suede as the secondary.
The thick pads are really deep, but the thin pads do have a larger diameter opening which may help too. None of them are that thin, as the thin pad is still around the thickness of a BE2 which is approx. 23mm deep.
Bro, start doing wresting/bjj and get your ears smashed into the mat. After a while you'll develop calcium deposits(cauliflower ear) and you can just say your ears stick out and look funny because you're a fighter. You'll be just like Frankie Edgar or Demetrius Johnson. Good luck, young buck.

Caldera open is the best headphone i have ever heard and owned, the closed is very close and has its own Very strong points too ... Thanks Zach
Been really loving the increased presence on UA-cam. Great stuff!
Thanks Scott! Thanks for checking it out!
Congratulations on launch of a new planar headphone. I hope to try it soon!
Congrats on your journey, Zach! You've made a lot of people very happy, including myself, with the evolution of your works of art!
I can’t keep up with your headphones releases 😭

Looks great, can't wait to hear it!
I love the history here. Your headphones have always been special and continue to be so. And I love the shot of you with short hair.
Hey thanks Assaf! Appreciate you very much sir =)

Price of these is completely justified!
What wood is that desk? Looks sick!
Walnut!
Nice.

Is the silver grille available for the Oak Wood Caldera or is it only for the Kingwood?
Just for Kingwood right now.
