The only option really is to run more perimeter but the edges were playing outstanding as well. They took away the two biggest pieces for an offense to have success

They had the numbers advantage, but Michigan STILL did everything Urban said here. You're still correct because they should have gone uptempo and adjusted, but they DID attempt to do what you said in limited amounts and Michigan was all over it. It was a combination of Michigan's defense dominating and Ohio State's hubris and not exploiting their advantages enough. The reason Smith and others got no targets was because Michigan could play safe zone coverages and two-deep safeties and their front-7 still won all their battles AND pressured Howard. Ohio State should have abandoned the inside run point blank period. Needed more screens, sweeps, etc. even though the quick passes they did attempt were easily read by Michigan, they needed to keep trying it because it probably would have worked eventually.

Setting the edges opens up the passing game, which they did not even try to exploit except in 3rd and long--easy to predict and stop because you can't waste resources setting the edge in that situation. Hit a few passes on early downs and it costs too much to set the edge. Everyone in the stadium knew what was coming; hence the boos. BTW, I heard UM's looking for a new OC. Chip Kelly would be a good fit....
It’s not, arguably the last 3 years all the OSU teams were more talented offensively than this team, CJ Stroud and Kyle McCord were both more talented passers than Will Howard, the receivers were definitely more talented and deeper than this team especially the 2021 team where MHJ was the 4th receiver behind Olave, Garrett Wilson and JSN. The defense is definitely better but I think last season’s defense was better against the run, this year the secondary and linebacker play was better

while it's true that they rushing leader wins the game, that doesn't mean that you have to run into the strength of the Xichigan defense to get it. If thry would have played their game 1st, and specifically a perimeter uptempo offense, I think that thry would have gained a sizable lead and then ended up getting those rushing yards as a result of wearing down the defense, but not because of running 1st right into the D line.
Anyone losing to Michigan should be embarrassed but OSU losing to them is almost criminal. Hard to get your guys to play this bad but Ryan Day managed to do so.
Who wins the run game may not have mattered if Ohio State doesn't miss two 34 yard field goals or throw an interception in the red zone. Ohio State had other significant miscues that contrinuted to them not winning the game. The winner of the run game scenario doesn't make sense with the way the game played out.
OSU line injuries exposed. Especially center. OSU should have thrown to the backs more and rolled the QB more. Also they should have run more trap plays and counters with double tights. They should throw first run second. Should not be 50 50. More like 60 pass 40 run. Kicker needs replaced. May need to work on center snap. 5 bad long snaps.
