great vid ! many thanks.. Awnings are what are holding is back.. seeing that car mounted Darche awning on some poles was a great idea!! be keen to have a simple rundown on how you did that
Great vid folks, being a Bigfoot owner , i certainly picked up a few different ways to try things, i think removing the table makes things much easier. Gibbo
Yeah certainly does, we have a small fold up table to use inside or outside if needed & I’ll make a plan when we need to turn the couch into a second bed.
G'day Graham & Jess, this was a great video for people with a similar or thinking of getting this style of camper, well done. This is just a tongue in cheek joke, But, with our 4X4 Overland Exp Truck from the time we pull into our remote campsite to fully setup with a cold one in hand - 0.30 seconds. LOL Safe Travels to You Both, Steve.
@@great_offroad_adventures No Worries Mate it was written & intended as a friendly joke only, your setup is spot-on for what you & Jess do, hats off to you both Mate.
Every camper is different, I’m actually able to make some modifications to mine, which will remove the need for the 2 short poles near our heads and replace them with a hoop (like the rear of the trailer) and if we want to make it quicker still we can drop down to just using 1x spreader bar front and rear instead of 2x front and rear.
Just got a new ff. Going to give you way ago as it’s been a struggle so far. But I can see what we’re doing wrong on the inside so thanks guys regards Googs
Great video, well done, we have had an old soft floor camper for 10 years plus and learnt some great stuff, thanks again! You mentioned a checklist / Idiot Guide any chance of sharing? Going to do one for our new camper.
Thanks. Checklist is like: Ensuring hitch is locked, ensuring stabiliser legs are up, ensuring all hatches are closed & latched, ensuring dust caps are on gas points & diesel heater, ensuring electrics are off (water pump, lights, etc), ensuring trailer plug & Anderson are connected & working & charging, ensuring all latches & safety pins are in for boat rack & camper lid…..AND ensuring handbrake is off, forgotten that once or twice 🤣.
Great setup I'm thinking of getter the same awning setup I'm trying to find the slide up mounts that you have on the side of the trailer are they home made or is there somewhere I can purchase them from. Thanks
We have put in a thicker mattress - that’s why it’s more difficult….sadly it hasn’t proven to be particularly comfortable…..so on the hunt for another replacement.
Great video, super helpful! Just purchased our first camper trailer and these tips will be super useful!

Awning bracket was designed by Bigfoot Campers not me, hence I won’t go into detail about how to make it for everyone else as it’s not fair to them.
Very good guys, that's a big help as I've just bought a forward fold and had no experience with them at all. Thankyou.

Thanks for taking time to make this great video and posting it. Very helpful to decide on whether to invest in one or not.
Got amendments to make to this to make it even quicker now. Still
loving the camper and space & freedom it gives us.
Thank you i am in the market to buy a camper this really helped me to make my decision on type of camper I need.

Ohh yeah we know that some setups are quicker and easier….but this suits us for now 👍🏻.

I wish my camper was that easy to fold over when packing up!!!
Helpfully video thanks its better than every other manufacturers
Thank goodness I have Bluewater Camper, the work involved in getting the inside sorted on your camper would do my head in.

I don’t have a camper, but I’ll give you a 👍 and a comment anyway…
Hi guys, really interested in how the brackets for the 180 awning are made and mounted. Looks like a great mod
Bump
Yeah I second this. Literally only clicked on this video because I saw the darche 270
Well Done..l appreciate your efforts
Excellent guys thank you so much 🐨🌻🕊️💖
Happy to help 👌🏻
That makes a swag look simple😂 na looks good guys👍🍻🤘🇦🇺🍺
Hahaha - sure makes the rooftop look simple 🤣, but neither swag or RTT have the same level of comfort as the camper.
@@great_offroad_adventures Ain’t that the truth👍😂😂

Could you please take a few photos of the awning, or a short video.thanks
The Darche quick awning or the standard camper awning?
@@great_offroad_adventures the Darche awning please
Great vid. . . . but it would also be helpful to do the same for your parent's rear fold . . . . For those like myself that owns one
Well on the next camp trip I do with them, I’ll see if we can organise something.
Shouldn’t be that tight to latch the roof down on pack up

Even the pros struggle with these things, now do that again in the rain and not to mention the wind. These are not the best idea👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
How did you mount the poles for your awning
