  • Apologies for how long it took to get this out. I’ve been experimenting with different ways to showcase the sound a little better. This is the best way I could find to show any difference in sound. Thank you for watching!

Witt Machine has not paid you for this.
But we are watching your channel with great interest, and we appreciate your honesty.

I wish there was a science based way to test this. I understand the equipment is expensive but I’d love to see the numbers

There’s a video out there, it’s done by Tactical Shit I believe if you’d want to check it out

I've been using this for a few years now and it does help. To the shooter it makes the 5.56 sound more like a shotgun. It's more airy and less high pitch if that makes sense.

That’s a great way to explain the sound. I never thought about it like that!

In the video, it doesn't seem to reduce the dB level, but instead, the sound impulse seems shortened. Like the secondary reverb from the shot goes away, compared to the unsuppressed shots.

So at the shooters ear, it is a bit easier to take. It’s not as sharp and painful but more of a pop. Idk if that makes sense. It’s something you really need to hear in person to go “ohhhh ok”😂

@PewTube24 I can imagine that would be correct, based off of what I'm hearing in the video. Great job!

I’m not 100% sure, haven’t tested that yet since I don’t have a safe way to do so. I will guess that it probably won’t be the best option, I would lean you towards a suppressor for that purpose

@@PewTube24 silencer isnt an option for me. Thats why im doing the research to find out if these would do any good on a home defense set up.

Well I’ll try to test it out with a short and let you know!

@@Brykk I'm looking for the same purpose. As far as I can tell, even a suppressor, in close quarters is gonna be loud. Really loud. I'm not doing the whole NFA bs so I'll probably go with one of these. I guess a reduction of ~ 11db, which I've seen them rated at, is better than nothing. 🤷🏻‍♂️
