Stand My Ground got me into Within Temptation. Angels, Iron, Memories, Jillian, And We Run, Paradise, Shot In The Dark, Stairway To The Skies, Ice Queen, Faster, Sinead, Fire and Ice, All I Need, A Demon's Fate, Our Solemn Hour, Let Us Burn and Hand of Sorrow got them into my top five all time favorite artists.
I'm new to Within Temptation but I'm blown away by their music. I've listened to Nightwish for many years but now opened up to this band and cant stop playing their songs.
I found them about 2 years ago... isn't it mind blowing they are not more famous???

I’m almost 38 and I discovered maybe only 2 years ago and I found out about slot of other bands that have been around just as long and I love it all evanescence Tarja Lindsey stirling Epica never was really aware that there was such great music under the industrial garbage pop but this is great there is a newer band blackbriar and they are a band that deserves more attention to they are awesome and I hope they come out with more albums

Within Temptation has killer vibes!! Like a punch in the nose and kick in the gut. Sharon's voice with the symphonic background and heavy guitars just seems to wring the emotions out of me every time. And the lyrics seem to tell my story and touch my heart. For me, its best listened to while alone, in the dark, volume way up!!
This is the best of the best of any and every f**kin' thing. Thank you for putting it all together!

I saw them live in 2008 in a 3 days festival, electric weekend Getafe, in Spain. I discovered them there, I was amazed by their force and quality live performance, and of course by the songs, back then they were in the heart of everything tour. I can't stop hearing them since then.

This is an amazing list of WT! I've been a Loyal fan (almost 15 years now) and as a Dutchie I'm so proud of how far they've gotten! Their music is timeless and they've got so many amazing songs! Even if you don't like this kind of music, there's gotta be at least one song you do like from them! They're thát good!
Only discovered them recently (I know, my loss :-)). I can listen to them for hours. I love all the songs, I don't think I will have a favourite.
I love Sharon her voice there is no other woman that can tip on her voice . I was 16 when I saw them for the first time on a festival and stile now thy are amazing. And the songs are timeles.

Lucky you. I'm 52. I was 47 when I found out about them because a little Russian film about a dragon someone used to make an unofficial video. I was too deep into Nightwish and Mylene Farmer to check something new.
This is such a good compilation, I've been listening to it every week or so, for the last year.

Within Temptation and Evanescence should do a world tour this year, but skipped due corona, maybe next year. Starts in Amsterdam.

Epica, Xandria, We are the Fallen, Trees of Eternity(they are depressing if you are in a bad state don't). Aleah is the solo project of the woman from Trees of Eternity, unfortunatelly she died from cancer so there is no much from her 2 albums one for TOE and the other is a Solo that will drop this year i think.
Within Temptation is slowly becoming my favorite symphonic metal band!
Still a slight edge to Nightwish.
Sharon and Floor are symphonic metal goddesses!!

Wonderful list from one of my favorite bands, but I missed the two master pieces and great collaborations, Paradise and We run. BTW maybe it’s not possible due the rights, but please ad the and all the other great collaborations. BTW great mix and it’s always difficult to make a selection to make everyone happy. Maybe a new mix with all the great collaborations of the band? (Former 70’s DJ)

Awesome compilation, for an awesome band!
I was introduced to this band by Maestro Michael Urbaniak's brilliant 20 Greatest Symphonic Metal series of playlists (40 and counting as of July 2023).
So many amazing bands I'd never heard of but totally love. I live in a place where music like this gets 0 airplay on commercial radio. I don't even turn my radio on anymore. Not since finding this in November 2020.

Definitely the silence force and The heart of every thing were brilliant , and they will remain among the best albums in this genre. They have been one of my faves but sadly in the last two albums they changed their beautiful styles and went downhill . I hope they go back to their own style . Because they can make good music .thanks for sharing 💚💚💚🙏
That is the problem with basically all bands. Sure, bands naturally change, but there is no shame not to lake them anymore if they no longer deliver what you fell in love with.
Sadly, then people call you out and say "you are not a real fan" or "shut up, you don't like something new!" if you express what you think.
Still, there were 2 or 3 songs in each of new WT albums that I really liked.
I have liked their music since 2007 and I even like their new stuff. I don't think they went "downhill". People don't like change and that's probably what is going on.
