Man, tracks like this really make me wish Heretic (OG Heretic, that is) gets what DOOM got w/ 2016 and Eternal. Heretic actually took what the original DOOM engine had and improved upon it; verticality, being able to stock powerups instead of just using them as you get 'em, the ability to actually AIM... Heretic deserves a lot more love than what its gettin', and a hell of a lot more recognition for what it accomplished. It was basically to DOOM what Rise of the Triad was to Wolfenstein 3D.
This brought me right back to my childhood. Even though I probably wasn't supposed to play this game at my age back then, if we are going by the moral guardians of that time... especially with people calling these kind of games murder simulators back in those days. I still play Heretic to this day, albeit modded and a while ago I started playing Hands of Necromany thinking the music slaps in that game too... looked up the composer and was pleasantly surprised. Take that as a deserved compliment for a job well done, considering I only found out you did those as well, after looking for Heretic and finding these remixes on UA-cam. And that is a thumbsup from me.^^
So awesome! Fitting in with the story of Heretic, this song makes me think of Corvus already at terms with the fact he may never see his home again, fighting endlessly through the realms D'sparil has conquered. The warm memories of his home, though distant, are the only things that keep him going. Like a moment of respite before he enters back into the fray. Yeah, I just discovered these remixes and freakin love it. Listened so many times already to the whole Heretic playlist.
Now, _here's_ a track that I recognize! And, _man,_ does it sound amazing! Nicely done! *Edit:* Okay, I don't think this is the track I thought it was. Rather, I thought this was the track for E1M8, for some reason! But, no, this is the music I thought it was… and, I am in love with it! It's just that amazing!
It reminds me of when I was remixing music from doom and heretic into djungle themes in FL-studio. Unfortunately I no longer have that program, or those tunes. But I loved doing it.
YES , Freaking YES , My favorite level and theme from Heretic , Great job mate , You have an amazing level of skill , Hope to reach ya level one day . = )
I never heard this in my Heretic playthroughs because screw those secret levels in Heretic! The "normal" levels were hard as they were. But yeah, both the original and the remix are amazing.
My title for this one: Ten- Thousand Man Melee Like many of the other comments have mentioned, this is a pretty great battle theme, but I feel it's more fitting for a more grandiose fight- it doesn't really have much tension in it, mostly thrills, energy, and upbeat action. While I don't think it's fitting for Heretic's final fight against D'sparil (this music plays for that map too), I think it fits the actual graveyard itself like a glove- huge open fields, large congregations of monsters for you to mow down, epic battles from start to finish that make you feel like a badass if you manage to survive all the way through. It likely also fits the Mausoleum secret map (which uses this music) as well, with hordes of monsters in ornate corridors, and devastating trial rooms with lots of close- quarters and hazardous fighting. At the very least it would make the latter more bearable. Sadly, I don't see how this could be made fitting for the final battle with just a few small tweaks. Likely it'll have to be redone if you want to fill that purpose. Maybe a remix of Hexen's Dark Crucible could fit that bill, though... Side note: I actually downloaded nearly all of these remasters you've made and have used 8 of them (including this one) in a music addon for a big, beefy, and challenging Heretic WAD called Curse of D'sparil. Not sure how much that'll cheer you up, but people are using these.

@@McTec_Industries thanks for noticing and the kind words! 😁👍
You took an oppressive, violent, war-march of a song and turned it into a dance tune. Highly impressive stuff here man.
Haha Thanks dude!

This is perfect! This remix really fits for the final battle between Corvus and D'Sparyl!
What it fits for is for Zero Master speedrunning the whole episode, including that damned secret level while the music still playing :D

Possibly, Most Likely, the best version of this tune I've ever heard, ever.
@@nmn5550 thanks mate!
Thanks, never heard this tune in midi, but now it is just a pleasure to listen as a standalone piece of art.
Thanks! :D
D'Sparil would be proud!
Edit: Love how it turns into a sort of 90's demoscenesque tune midway through. 10 out of 10 remix!
Maaaaan I'm in love with this remix. The original soundtrack is more apocalyptical and this remix brings me joy :)
Ohh my!
It sounds like a
Heroes of Might and Magic IV fight theme.
Lol, just what I thought.

The Graveyard - Good Future (Sonic CD reference)
Leans towards the likes of Alexander "Siren" Brandon's music style. Good work!
No words to describe this masterpiece
Thanks dude! 😉
Wow... what have I hear..?! Amazing arrange...! Your creativity is so high!
I didn’t play a ton of Heretic but this slaps

"Dooown the hatch!"
@@TykonBlue Better the hatch than down the windpipe. 🍗
Best game ever
@@TykonBlue It was a fun game.
Love this game, on of my faves, and this is an awesome remake. If they did a remake of Heretic this would be so good as part of the soundtrack
I'm getting some *_serious_* Gauntlet Legends vibes from this one.
DAMN, this is goooood!
Thanks man! :D

I think this song fits the most in E4M9 Mausoleum.
Impressive 👍
Huh. It's so different. But still good!
Graveyard (Happy remix) =D
Please do more heretic remakes
From War music to Pop music.
Fit for a serpent rider
😊
You've Jazz jackrabitized the soundtrack of heretic..
Sounds like a Deus Ex level !
the Dwango 5 Map07 jam
This one sounds like a Heroes 3 battle theme.
Sounds like it could be from Unreal :D
