So basically, what I’m gathering from this is that an update became the best update for modding because Mojang took way too long developing 1.13.
That and 1.13 changed almost everything about how blocks work since waterlogging became possible.
By the time the modding community managed to catch up, 1.15 was already on the way.
1.12 is much more stable than any later versions
Pretty much yeah
@@thecrazyinsanity it's possible, you just need an older CPU. The RAM requirements are mostly because of minecraft parsing everything (including garbage collection) through 1 core and putting any uncompleted tasks into a stack in RAM. As a result, if you're not able to clear the stack faster than it's being generated, the RAM usage will start forcing garbage collection every few seconds, which just increases the number of things stuck in RAM, eventually making the game crash.
@@derram0k Not waterlogging, but because of the so-called "flattening", where numeric IDs where removed (not just replaced, but actually removed), NBT tags where changed. This meant that everything that referenced a vanilla item needed to be modified in the mod base.
The thing that impresses me most is the fact that some Minecraft MODS have more downloads than any other game could even wish to achieve... We're talking about an addon to a game achieving tens of millions of downloads. That's pretty significant.
I've personally downloaded the same mod multiple times, so it's not like it has that many individual users.
@@titan4257 “Ah yes, not that many users if each person downloads it ten times. Wait, that’s still over a million downloaders..”

I also like 1.12 cause, you know, it's before the game started REALLY changing into what it is today. Not that it's bad, just, 1.12 really feels like a classical experience.
It is a before and after, the end of an era specially considering how 1.13 was the last version for legacy consoles
To me it's the same with 1.7. 1.12 is not that bad, but already has some pretty annoying vanilla changes, like the new food/health regen, ocean monuments, the new end, the combat hit bar thing...
In comparison, 1.7 only has the ugly new biomes, horses, hoppers and comparators

The major problem I have with 1.16 is the lack of large endgame mods, there's no gregtech, no nuclearcraft, and in general some large gaps in the mod list, especially considering many 1.16 mods are too busy adding non-unique content to an oversaturated list or trying to fill in for a 1.12 mod. Plus there's the problem with the split modloaders, 1.16 isn't worth it with or without create.

i really wish it was more common to backport the swimming mechanics into 1.12 modpacks. MC just feels like shit without the update aquatic movement features. It's not a technical limit, it's on the willingness of modders to make the game feel good.
Anyways, I think 1.16 and 1.18 are having good modpacks. Create Above and Beyond is the best pack I've played in a long time. One of the few benefits of minecraft updates being incompatible with old mods is that it means new mods get a chance to rise to the surface

@@teammemesupremetms Exactly. It just feels... right. Like it's perfect and doesn't need to be changed. Although if you did want to spice things up, it's also the perfect version for mods.

@@misterjr193 1.12 has much better server performance,
better chunkloading mechanics,

I’ve never thought I hear factorio in a non factorio video
For a couple years now I've been wanting to make a Minecraft mod with mechs. No easy task, of course, specially for a first mod.
I was following tutorials on basic modding a guy made but, when Fabric gained traction, this guy DELETED all his videos on 1.12 Forge modding to make guides on 1.16 Fabric! I looked for other tutorials, but none seemed as clear, at the time.
So, basically, I was stuck mid-way through my "steppingstone" 1.12 mod without knowing how to progress! Barely a collection of items and blocks, that had no actual use. I had made many 3D models and textures that I never even got to use, since I had no idea how to code them in.
Eventually, I decided to follow his guide on 1.16 Fabric modding, but those tutorials had nothing to do with what I had learned at that point, the programming was even harder, it required completely different programs to code properly and, worst of all, Fabric has awful mods when compared to Forge (the whole point was using my mod in conjunction with other cool mods I love thanks to Forge's overall compatibility).
But now I realize that 1.12 mods are still relevant, and that they are still being developed, even if they aren't being updated.
I've taken a huge brake from playing Minecraft in favour of other games, but maybe it's time to go back to learning how to mod. There's still hope!
It sounds like you just didn’t have basic coding knowledge you should take a beginner class before modding Probably Java for Minecraft also maybe understand how the file systems work
@@RoflcopterLamo I had the same thought process at the time! I stopped learning how to make mods to focus on learning the basics of programming on Java, just when I was starting to understand what each folder did too; how they where related to eachother, how the engine interacted with them and why I had to make as many as the tutorial was asking me to make.
Things were starting to make sense, but, like I say, the problem is that I lost hope in the project because 1.13 came around, and 1.14 right after that, and I didn't see the point of making a mod for a version of the game that was going obsolete, nor was I interested in making a mod for a version of Minecraft that doesn't have any cool mods in it!
What's the point in having powerful combat mechs if there aren't any... I dunno... Eldritch monsters to fight? Or armies of magical undead? Or parasite bio-weapons?
Also, I know I'll never be able to make a good industrial mod, or not one that can stand share ground with the big dogs, so the mechs would be a standalone thing. In other words, if you are not playing with industrial mods, you won't have acces to cool mechs. At the time Minecraft was quickly coming up with update after update after update, the biggest industrial mod for Minecraft was... Create.
Yeaaaaah, noooo.....
And after that I kinda just lost interest in Minecraft all together... Got a job too!
But, well, maybe it's time to come back to it.
I remember that there is an archeology mod that I met in 2015-2016 from a youtube series and it still the greatest thing ever, sadly Minecraft will never add things like these and if they do it will be just 2 new features
Well, I play 1.12.2 mostly now due to the new versions breaking most of my giant farms in my old worlds and it sucks repairing or sometimes even having to demolish them.

(except 1.14)
Not even true have you seen 1.14
@@fritz404 the villager update was cool but it just runs terrible
Sniffer is useless. All he does is sniff your toes 🤣🤣🤣
I wish the sniffer did that to me 😈
How is that remotely useless??🤔
fabric: allow me to introduce myself
I normally play 1.8.9, but I also play my own modpack of 60 mods in 1.12.2, I use the normal launcher to play it. I don't play with mods in versions past 1.12.2 because the mods that I use aren't in that version.
Beta 1.7.3 will always be the best version
Nah, I disagree... beta 1.0 on the other hand..
People even still make new mods for it!
God I remember making a blue house out of concrete. 1.12 was definitely the best update.
Igblon be like: Does 1.20 have rocket ships? Didn't think so
This legend put music into description 💯
I totally agree 1.12.2 is the perfect version for Minecraft modding
IGoByLotsOfNames did a great job making this video, the editing is amazing and the video has been cooked to perfection
the end is a cinematic masterpiece
The animations in this video are 777x better than like anything ever. Great vid
1.7.10 & 1.12.2 are the most optimized versions of Minecraft with 1.16.5 being slightly behind, but by the day getting more optimized with things like Paper
beta 1.7.3 go brrrrrr
copy paste robot detected 💀
@@hg13_ uh no, its my opinion and im sorry that you feel that way
@@crazy 🤓
@@hg13_ u liked ur own comment lol
On forge 1.12(.2) is king there’s just no forge version that can compare to it, fabric on the other hand, still doesn’t have that many mods but it better in terms of current version stuff
Actually there is: 1.7.10
1.12.2 is still awesome, but 1.7.10 had some of the best of the best when it came to quality mods.
I didn’t really believe you at first, but that live action footage at the end really made your objectively opinion clear.
that fight scene was sick
