Bought my African grey 22 years go they are a big responsibility don’t get one if you don’t have the time this birds live a very long time

I inherited an older AG a few years ago when her owner passed away. We instantly fell madly in love with each other. She died a few weeks ago & it is the hardest loss of my life. A new baby, from a responsible breeder, will be mine in a couple of months and I simply cannot wait. You’re basically getting a small child when you invite an AG into your life. They need lots and lots of attention and stimulation and of course, love.
The big brain is evident at birth. African Grey parrots are the smartest creatures on the planet. Beautiful babies.

Awe this is adorable! I have an African Grey parrot and i got it when i was 6! Im now 11 soon to be 12 and she is 5 years old named Coco. They are a very big responsibility but they are very talented and smart, ive been studying and doing research about thoe little things for a while now! :)

@@ummehaani9483 no he doesnt! im 14 now, and shes been with us for 7-8 years! no she does not need a mate but she needs attention 24/7, but i think that just depends on your parrot’s personality!

These birds live in absolute squalor 😔 that nest, with flies flying around the newly hatched babies... Also you should let the babies be fed by the parents until they’re weaned.

LEIWANG K it’s certainly uncomfortable and mildly painful for them, but I know birds. when they’re in pain they start squawking and jumping around.

I’ve had mine 25 years and she just laid 2 eggs. I made the mistake of kissing on her and it put her in reproductive mode. And yes they are a lot of responsibility but she has seen me thru a divorce and many ups and downs. I got her from an abusive family that thought she was too messy and put her outside during winter. Her name is Cookie.

All baby parrots are hand-fed via syringe by breeders... Literally no other way to do it. They can't eat on their own, in the wild their mom's puke food into their mouths.

I know this is a late reply but technically this is not called plucking. If it was plucking it's not supposed to lay eggs. So this is called molding. Where they take feathers out and grow more.
