Your animations are great, and together with the commentary, they make it super easy to remember the material and understand the theory (after all, most of us are visual learners!). I'm a huge fan of yours. Thank you so much for your valuable videos and for sharing priceless knowledge with us in such a simple way! 👍👍👍
That’s what I’m talking about!!! Thank you thank you thank you! Finally someone does a diagram that’s simple to understand! Please continue your lessons with this approach.
Been watching UA-cam guitar videos for over a decade and I’ve never seen you before. These visualizations are fantastic. Can’t wait to dive into more of your vids. Thank you for your service!
Pow! As a teacher with a learning addiction, I just want to commend you on your lessons. They demonstrate a very effective approach to learning, and one imagines that the strategy used in creating them (content presentation, format, visuals, repetition) would translate across multiple subject matters. Well done.
One way for beginners to start might be to do the exercise with just the root; once that's down add the fifth. Once that's down add the 3rd. Thanks for the lesson!
This may very well be one of the most informative videos on UA-cam for furthering knowledge of the fretboard. Thank you so much for providing this content to us all. It is a blessing.
Been doing this a couple hours a day the last few weeks been really good at nailing those weaknesses I had in note names in some parts of the neck - found that aspect harder than the triad shapes. Really a great exercise - thanks again
Best guitar channel on UA-cam. Your triad lesson on Hey Joe was amazing - the triad runs you do in that video, I still sometimes click on it just to listen to that alone. Going to be subscribing to Patreon within the next few weeks.

There’re 12 major chords and 12 minor chords, but some of them can have two different names - for instance D# minor (D# F# A#) can also be called Eb minor (Eb Gb Bb) .. These are the same pitches, but spelled differently.
@@Maisy1000in these closed triad voicings , meaning, when they go in order of 1 - 3 - 5 without skipping into another octave, the order of notes from lowest to highest in pitch can either be 1-3-5 (circled in blue), 3-5-1, (circled in orange) and 5-1-3 (circled in green) - when the root is the lowest its root position and when the 3rd is the lowest it’s called first inversion, and when the 5th is the lowest it’s called second inversion - the word inversion just means to change the order of notes or “invert” the arrangement of the notes

4 triad types (Maj-min-aug-dim) X 3 inversions X 4 sets of strings = 48 chord shapes.
Hiw do we remember all thoses triads in 12keys?
Richard’s Simmons for thumbnail mascot
That thumbnail though 😂😂😂
how are you supposed to go from step one to the moving shapes through a key we see at 11:04 ? are you instantly going from visualizing the map of c major triads on the final three strings, to visualizing the map of d minor triads on those strings, to the e minor triad map, etc? or is there a more mentally efficient way of going about that?
Thanks for the comment! Just saw it and will answer in more depth asap
How can one become a patrons with a busy schedule
Does the fretLIVE Fretboard Mastery Program include this content? Are would this be a complement to Mastery?
Leonel Messi on the guitar is 🎸💯🔥
It's him 😂
Please can we also improvise G triad on D?
Absolutely! The intervals in that context would be 1-3-5 for the D triad, and 4-6-1 from the G, so 1-3-4-5-6 - similar to major pentatonic sound!
Is it ok if I still don’t know most of these triads, I just learn most of them through here
Wow, this exercise really shows how bad my strat is setup 😅
Gary Moore please
Thumbnail is next level good luck newbs
Can someone explain, how it helps in musical journey, I mean in rythm playing or memorizing fretboard, someone pls explain 🙏🙏
So…one thing is, it allows for second or third guitar players not having to play the same chord formation as the first guitarist….✌️
Wow.
cool lesson, loud metronome
Hey Gary, bought self paced course and can’t find a place to log in
Thanks! Go to learn.powmusic.co to login!
@ thanks for the help. Great course. Been playing for years just didn’t know why things work. Really fun way to learn with fret live
Do you have anything on Rhythm?
For sure! Check out my lessons with Carter Arrington on rhythm and my strumming workout videos
haphazardly
I love that word
❤
How many keys are there?
There’re 12 major chords and 12 minor chords, but some of them can have two different names - for instance D# minor (D# F# A#) can also be called Eb minor (Eb Gb Bb) .. These are the same pitches, but spelled differently.

You mentioned the triad triumphs will be added to Fretboard Live course does that include the self pace edition?
Yes! I’ll be adding a few of the triad Triumph exercises into the Self Paced edition! :-)
So would it be worth it to also purchase the course separately?
Were's the bloody PDF?
It’s in the damn description!
What is a Triad?
the most basic chord - contains a root note, a third (major or minor) and a fifth (perfect, diminished or augmented).
Thanks ❤️
What’s an inversion?
