Thomas Francis Meagher spent his last two nights of freedom on Irish soil in our family home in Carrigeen, County Tipperary. This has also been verified as the priest (Fr. Carroll), who sheltered him kept a diary at the time.
Quite the biography! Seems from early in his life he had determined to 'fight' prejudice and 600yrs of British enslavement of his race. We know now what motivated him, and this he passed on to those who would lay down their lives. Seems he took the same philosophy out to Montana. In the end it appears that he died for what he believed in. Ironically 'Sanders' would 'use' his example to benefit himself in his own way. Excellent presentation!
my grandfather alwas told us it is pronounced muhar as a direct decendent and big nose geo confesed to murdering tom plus others in bar and was hung shortley after

Fantastic stuff, in my town of Waterford a statue to Meagher stands in the centre of the city. This Lady did her work and I applaud her for it!
