While I appreciate you adding the card values, what I would really like to see is a PSA returns video where you compare the value after grading to the value of all of the raw cards. Yea your cards are worth $5k+ after grading, but what were they worth in near mint raw condition? Did grading your cards add more than $1,000 in value to them? In this video I would guess the answer is yes, but I would really like to see someone make this kind of comparison video!
Also in general, how much did the cards cost when he bought them, + the grading, and then we see the actual ROAS of this. Now we see 1000$ grading fee against the graded value which is a great ROAS, but a lot of those cards were probably on the minus side thanks to grading costing 20 already and then the unnamed price of the card when he bought it.
I see what you mean but grading your cards adds so much more value than what it would cost raw. Even the ones that were only $40-$50 would only cost $5-$15 raw. I do like the idea but grading your cards will always add a significant amount more

Incredible cards. Congratulations on hitting the 10 on some of these beautiful Naoki Saito illustrations especially the Reshiram & Zekrom GX full art. I pulled the hyper rare version, still need to pick up the regular full art. Also one of my fav cards and Naoki Saito is definitely my favorite of all the Pokemon artists as well.
$5,880 after spending $1,000 to grade = $4,880…. Now, the real question is, how much did you purchase the raw lot (pre graded) for? That would help get a better idea of how much “value” you have increased…(ROI)
Pokemon Grading company only does Pokemon cards and merchandise. Their facilities use higher tech and I got my cards back from them within a month. ALL the other ones take months. I think I payed $50 for 20 cards to be graded, can't beat it. I think their channel is called Pokemongradingcompany
One thing I dislike about this hobby is people making statements about what should and shouldn’t be graded. Not everyone has the money to buy and grade expensive cards and others, like yourself, collect one specific character. Grading is open to whoever and for the most part, whatever card you want. If you are looking for monetary benefits it will not work out. But if you want to grade it because you like the card. Then by all means grade and collect. It’s your money. Appreciate your content. @Keztrex obviously and psa cards usually have more value hence my point people usually only want psa cards when they are buying for their personal collection on the secondary market

Jake, curious if you know of the new tax rule saying that ebay/online marketplaces will now have to send you a 1099 tax form showing income/sales from their platform if you sold over 600$ in sales? Curious if you have a strategy or advice on minimizing the taxable income from these card sales, especially when it might be hard to know what might be deductible especially if you pulled those cards.
Exactly what i was going to ask. I think thats one of the most important questions especially grading high value cards. For sure the biggest turnoff grading with PSA.
I haven't graded my cards yet because I'm nervous something will happen to my cards, damaged, possibly swamped out for in inferior copy. Does that not go through your mind?
It is a valid worry, however, I highly doubt PSA would damage its brand and image by doing that. There may be individual bad actors that are employed by PSA that might do that, but fortunately, there is customer service for that and they will get on that employee's case. However, I suggest having proof of the original card (vids, pics, etc.)

Being concerned about damage is a legitimate concern. I've received a PSA 10 card that was damaged after going through the slab process because of the way the machine vibrates that they use to seal the slab. Take pictures of your cards before sending them off for peace of mind. I highly doubt Jake sent in that Rayquaza with chipping at the top of the front of the card; it would be obvious to anyone collector that sends their cards in for grading.

my only concern with some pokemon cars is that they come back as a 10 and the market says they are worth $25... this doesnt make sense... it COST that much to grade the card and ship it. Not really fair to give it away for free when its perfect
Would you say PSA would be more harsh on a card that is off center (not badly off but noticeable) but the card has print lines or a card with print lines but good centering?
How exactly do you come up with these prices?? For example, I tend to look at eBay sold listings in the last month (if its a frequently sold card) and I checked Gym Trainer, and that card in a PSA 9 has never ever sold for $20 in the last 3 months

Jake, question. For a card that you are gonna grade, is it better to put it in a top loader than a card saver? If you put it in a top loader and then take it out to put it in a card saver for grading, wouldn't that damage the card?

Majority of the time Ebay is going to be the go to for most cards, especially graded cards. Unless your area does card shows. Thatd be another option. Just my 2 sense, hope all goes well.

Idount that you sent PSA your rayquaza Card like That… I also had issues with PSA when some cards were in a worse state when they came back. You can get a refund and extra money (for the damaged card) if you have video proof

If it's a valuable card, or a card you personally love and a good grading company, yes! Improves value. But only if cards worth grading in condition

Did you have to pay any upcharges on top of grading fees for this submission? Upcharges have always put me off grading with PSA, seems greedy of them.

Mine took 3 and a half because i live in Belgium and used Ludkins, happy i got them back kinda gave up hope on them for a while.

Why do we need these middle men to tell us what number a card deserves? Do we not have eyes?

I got a sealed promo of that Pikachu 012 but without the stamp, now kinda sad I just found out it exists.
So basically if you get Mint 9 it’s no different than selling raw price on tcg player. Really drives home how grading most modern isn’t worth it.
Yes because most modern cards are around the same condition as a 9 anyway
the insurance to ship return was very expensive, so was sending the package from fedex to california - holay..

They are graded with PSA and Beckett and I'm trying to find a good site for auctions.
I'm in contact with Goldin Auctions and Iconic Auctions and I might go with Goldin Auctions.
Or do you think Ebay will just do the trick since it's the most popular platform?

Majority of the time Ebay is going to be the go to for most cards, especially graded cards. Unless your area does card shows. Thatd be another option. Just my 2 sense, hope all goes well.

Is there a reason you did PSA over CGC? i have a really large stack i want to submit for grading but i just can't pull the trigger on CGC.
Pull that trigger man. Look at the aweful centering on some of these PSA 10 cards. CGC 10 cards are TRULY perfect cards... CGC > PSA all day for me...

You should give the values of the cards raw before grading.

How did you grade for $20/card? all im seeing on PSA site is $30 and thats for low end cards.
They had a special during the national card convention. Could submit at $18 for a few weeks. They’ll probably have another special so just wait until then. Have to be a collector member or something tho
@@steamingpanda2.177 I might just go CGC. PSA is getting weird and way too expensive for my taste. Plus I personally don't mind the harsher grading system at CGC. i do wish PSA wasn't so expensive. I remember paying $10 lol

Idount that you sent PSA your rayquaza Card like That… I also had issues with PSA when some cards were in a worse state when they came back. You can get a refund and extra money (for the damaged card) if you have video proof
