Why "Woke" Sensitivity Might Send You To The Hospital

- In this video, I discuss why obesity is tip-toed around especially at a time when it should be addressed heavily, why we might be prone to lie about our food amongst vegan-woke circles, and how the mental gymnastics of it all is likely to lead to high levels of stress, depression and their physical manifestations.

Imagine how different life would be if individuals were more concerned about the decency of their own character than they were about other people’s opinions..
1000%
Then everyone would be vegan
“Look at the world through a lens of Gratitude instead of Grievance.”
Wonderfully said!☺️
Definitely the easiest way of not driving yourself crazy.
Excess subcutaneous fat can still be unhealthy, just not as unhealthy.
🙏 Thank you you are amazing and so grateful for you
I saw a tiktok on UA-cam of a girl who said she didn’t feel safe going anywhere because she just saw everything as racist. I honestly feel so sorry for her…
And yet she went from tiktok to UA-cam hmm? I suspect fowl play.
As a doctor, getting people to be healthy is so much more important than being “woke”, to me.
I agree, as a fat man, that is not ok to say been fat is healthy, or that is recomendable. We should definitely not treat fatness as the worst thing that can happen to a person or to shame fat people, because ultimately is just a part of who a person is, just like someone who suffers from any disease, and we should start treating it for what it is a disease you don’t ridicule someone who suffers from diabetes. But just like you don’t go to a someone with diabetes and tell him don’t eat that chocolate… no one should approach you and say hey why don’t you go to the gym or why don’t you make a diet… cuz you don’t know how many times that person has tried and most importantly no one can dictate how someone should live his life… if you want to do something for fat people, stop telling us we are fat… because trust me… we know
I have been obese my entire life and despite trying multiple times to get in shape I continue to struggle with my body image. However, I will NEVER lie to myself that being obese is healthy or should be celebrated. It objectively sucks and I will be trying very hard to be healthier hopefully with the help of my doctor.
You got this!
Consider reducing carbohydrate and sugar intakes.
@@Nyonyozimusic Thank you Kimi, that means a lot
@Doris Alvarez Skipping food is not the right thing.
Calories control, diet 6 days over 7 and exercise (why only 6 days over 7? Because if we eat so little daily, our primitive cells will teel to the body that there is food shortage, so metamolism slows to not make us starve. Eating freely once a week, will reassure the body that there is no food shortage, so methabolism won't slow.
Just engaging the truth is honorable and worthy. Stay strong! - from a fellow fighter
"Wokeness" creates chaos, contention and fear. Wisdom hand in hand with love creates lasting peace, compassion and forgiveness. Love your videos!
Keep getting out there on that skateboard of yours, don’t ever stop doing that. That’s a great way of staying in shape. I regret not skating for the past 2 decades. I saw that “backpack” video you made, while you were skating on that super smooth concrete so I decided to get back on the board.
That's so awesome!!
I used to roller blade, then i switched to bicycles for transportation. Both were really fun for me. I'm proud of you for getting back to something that's not only good for you, but is fun, too. Doubling up on the goodness. It feels good to fall in love with something all over again.
Good vibes!
There's an important aspect of 'wokeness' that is inherently detrimental that many people don't realize: the theft of agency.
For example, I'm disabled, but if someone got in the middle of an argument and some third person decided to jump in "to my defense" because I'm disabled and without me asking for help, I would open hellfire upon the interloper.
No one
takes away
my agency,
period.
Yes, it's the same "knight in shining armor" mentality that has been proven to be detrimental to society, because they tend to not ask you if you want help or not. They'll just help you regardless of whether you want that help or not. In effect, they're actually acting out what they have said is "mental abuse."
You'd think they would stop this behavior, but it's ultimately unhelpful if you don't ask the person if they want help first. It also coincides with their "consent" argument, which they also have contradicted many times with their "help." Don't they say now that "you're not helping if they don't consent"?
They can't say one thing is bad and then go do the exact same thing they tell others not to do.
You are amazing and I'm grateful for you sending love from California
This is a war of words and definitions. We have to keep nailing these terms and not allowing them to have free reign with words.
A number of decades ago the BMI used to be 27, then the wisdom of the US reduced it to 25. Overnight people became obese. I'm not vegan nor am I a carnivore, as my teeth dictate I'm omnivorous, in other words, everything is fine in moderation, it is about finding a balance that you are comfortable with. In my travels to the US and eating out in restaurants, the portion sizes are excessive in comparison to Europe. A kind waiter gave me good advice in the US regarding the starters which were basically the portion size for 2 people. We do have a tendency to lead sedentary lives.
Good comments. Always looking for or waiting for offense creates an atmosphere of stress, fear, and aggression. It also feeds into the classic thinking errors, and warps your view of others, and yourself.
Exactly
You are just sooooooo cute :) I know that you're not shallow, but that hat and your clothes and your spirit, just special! So blessed to be able to interact with you on Locals. You are a light in my life.
Thank you Jeff!
Thank you for your content, I work with middle school students and the self aware among them seem to be getting a little tired of the woke attitude, they are very patient, understanding and advocate for their beliefs in a non-judgmental way , and I have found that we are able to have conversations about touchy subjects like race and gender much easier than with my older ‘woke’ peers. Keep putting out content, more people need to see others using logic , critical thought and gratitude while navigating our society….thanks for what you do.
I'm over 300 pounds, I don't understand how anyone can feel like I feel and think they're healthy.
I hope you’ll be able to shed some of that weight, I know how tough it is. My mom went through a heavy depression phase where she gained over 150kg in about two years, she felt horrible. It feels like you’ve got a huge backpack on non stop and no matter what you do you just can’t seem to take it off. Just plain uncomfortable and exhausting. Much love.
I have a chronic neurological condition and when I lost body fat I had so many fewer symptoms and it is such an unpopular opinion in the chronic illness community to say that you feel better when you eat healthy and exercise. It is not even about weight, when your habits are better you do actually feel healthier and disempowering people to try to have healthy habits is not going to help people in the end
You packed lot of wisdom into this. Great video, and I love the overalls!
Thank you!
Gurl, I love you so much and the relaxed fearlessness you exude. Thank you!
Thank God that we still have voices speaking the truth.
Im a big fan of you Kimi and really enjoy your videos including this one and agree what you're sayin for the most part! But I do encourage you to read about the ecosystem destruction that animal agriculture causes. The amount of wildlife (eg rodents you mention) that die due to animal agriculture farrr outweighs the amount due to growing crops. Not to mention most of crops grown in the US are used for livestock feed. 83% of farmland worldwide is used for animal agriculture alone (Poore and Nemecek, 2018).
The internal inconsistencies... how do you square fat acceptance and climate change action? If you weigh 300 pounds you are going to be eating more and you're going to be more dependent on automobile transportation. Only some kind of twisted denialism or projection will allow you to stay on the correct side of those two paradigms.
Wow, you are wise young lady. I really enjoy listening to you.
Great commentary- keep speaking the truth!!
I working with a nutritionist and working out because as I Christian, my body is a temple. My overweight is not okay. And I really reject the phrase "all bodies are okay". Also, I tried not eating meat a couple of years ago but I absolutely love it haha.
It's about balance.
There's plenty of girls who stay skinny on a meat diet
It's the victim mentality, pure and simple. Anyone who's been bullied in the past can suffer from it. I had it because I was picked on at school, for having extra lessons to help with my reading and writing. It's a horrible way to see the world, where comments are internally twisted to be negative, personal attacks. The difference with wokeness is, people are actively encouraging this distorted reasoning. It's a form of gaslighting.
I was bullied as a kid…but I also bullied myself by believing the hate.
Love the outfit 💛
You are radiant💛
You are such a badass! You are brave in this woke world. Speaking truth and supporting people to get greater antifragility shows true spiritual strength. You are my heroine.,
Just love your videos!
This video is so on point, as many others you've made. Thank you!
I was skinny as a kid, slim thiccc as a teenager, then I just got fat in my 20's. My poor diet gave me an autoimmune disorder, and I'm now slim thicc. I have to say, I imagine my bones wouldn't hurt so much if I hadn't put them under such strain for 10 years. I take much better care of myself now than I did in my teens and 20's, and while my body isn't where I'd ideally like it, I love it a lot more than I did when it was morbidly obese. I understand my ideal and reality aren't one in the same, and I'm learning to be okay with that, because I'm working toward making it the best it can be.
A year ago I could barely walk to my mailbox, chronic pain, fatigue, chronic illness stuff and after cutting out alcohol, processed food and coffee I’ve lost 40 lbs, am down to one daily med and can go running. Don’t lose hope
Had a 3 mile longboard skate sesh this morning. I'm 63 years old, have been skateboarding since 2010. Really enjoy your channel, you're a voice of reason in this time of social hysteria.
I love your outfit. Love your utube segments. At one time, can’t really remember what years, it was really pushed. People were acting about the same as Covid. It was on every talk show etc. I think a lot of that stuff is a follow the leader mentality. 1 famous person does it, and everyone piles on. So many kinds of diets now and through the years. 1 doctor talks about 1 thing. Then u go somewhere else, and the doc says 1/2 of what the other doc said was wrong. For people trying to lose, I think it is 1 of the hardest things to do. You take away the carbs and sweets, u think you’re going to die.
For me I am super stressed over insane decisions that have been made in DC. Seems like something new every day.
Kimi, loved your video, you talk a lot with your hands which my cat loved, he batted at the phone every time your hand moved!😻
Such an important message. We see obesity as an integral part of peoples' identity rather than as a challenge they are experiencing, which is how we SHOULD look at it. America especially is very bad at this, which is why we are once again the fattest country in the world.
I really appreciate your channel, lady. Your words mean a lot b/c you have been 'on both sides' on the political spectrum - which is something I really respect. I will continue to tune in.
Cheers!!
Good to see you!
I was a vegan for almost seven years, and stopping it really did feel like losing a religion for me. I needed veganism to feel like a good person because I had such a deep sense of shame for simply existing (I constantly struggle with self hatred). But when my beliefs on the topic changed and when I saw how much healthier physically and mentally I was from giving it up, I realized that it's unlikely I'll ever go back. But it is a difficult shift to go through.
What's the conflict with being nice to yourself and respect the basic rights of animals to live their lives without unnecessary harm? I'm sorry for your struggle with self hatred, but it's never about being a good person, it's always about justice for the victims. Joining the movement, many vegans sure feel they can finally align their action with their values, which makes them no longer need to deal with the constant battling of inner conflict. But vegans do generally feel worse, not about themselves, but about the world. Vegans often constantly struggle with the fact that many others don't care slightly about the atrocities. But it's hard to just going to willful ignorance again. Yeah, we were definitely "happier", but at what cost. I hope you can find balance within your inner peace again, one day.
What belief did you have about veganism that changed? No judgment, just curious.
So true, excellent video.
Health is more important than ethical eating
Everything woke turns to sh!t - Donald J Trump
Keep waking us up Sis Kimi
Being vegan is not a way of being healthy, it is a way of caring about animals.
It's also a way of being healthy. Check it out, vegans are the _only_ demographic in the West with normal BMI on average. The _only_ demographic.
@@PermacultureAppalachia I don't need your biased statistics, carnivores look way healthier compared to vegans
I love your videos, but i have to disagree with this one. Agree with the obesity part, but the veganism part is wrong. Saying that crops kill animals too is a silly argument because it takes a minimum of 10x more crops to feed animals, meaning at least 10x more rodents etc are being killed just to feed the animals that we kill to eat. It's a far more energy efficient way to eat.
No one's forcing everyone to go vegan but rather asking them to challenge what they've been taught about why we consider some animals to be friends and others to be food. It also bothers me when people group veganism in with other woke movements because it has ethical and scientific backing. If you're going to criticize it, then please do you're basic research
This 👍🏻
Where is it anybody’s, besides mine & my medical personals business weather being over weight or at a healthy weight?
Even healthy LOOKING people can be VERY unhealthy.
As for criticism about eating or not eating meat, again where is it anybody else’s business. We have medical & even scientific professionals who don’t agree between the carnivore or vegetarian life style.
I say keep your “wokeisim” to yourself, go back to live & let live. With that attitude, we’d ALL be happier within ourselves. NOBODY needs to point out any others flaws until they themselves are perfect.
Good luck with that perfectionism.
I recommend ANYONE try a potato central diet with whole foods! Skip the oils, and sugars (a little fruits fine), and flour, anything processed just do away with it and you WILL LOSE WITHOUT "trying way too hard". Focus on foods with high satiety (like potatoes) and avoid eating too many fats if you decide to add avocado or nuts and seeds.
It's day ten or 11 for me and I lost TEN pounds! ...lost track because I was originally gonna just "try it" for three days until I gave myself a cheat day then go again....it was going so well here I am DUE for a cheat day, but already I feel so much better, I just want to do a cheat meal, and I don't even know what I even want lol. Amazingly, I am not even craving meat. I LOVE meat and I have eaten a LOT in my life!.... But I am surprisingly not really CRAVING it! Pleasant surprise I never thought that would happen. Not to say if a big steak was in front of me I wouldn't enjoy it, but I am not feeling the torture I felt on every other diet of such intense food cravings .
As far as limiting nutrients I need from meat or whatever, I actually do mild excercise for now because of the low protein and I just want to reset my digestive system. I plan to do a colon cleanse and a parasite cleanse so my nutrients absorb better as well as continuing my daily multivitamin.
I will definitely be eating meat again, but will choose healthy meat instead of the hormone and vaccine laced meats I have been consuming. And far less frequently, as I was a daily meat eater, often for multiple or sometimes all meals.
For those of you with EDs, I WISH I would have known about this diet! You can actually not limit your eating whatsoever and get totally fit and healthy without making your hair and teeth fall out! And without starving or barfing and guilt for doing that. I was anorexic for about two years. Because of various health problems I got overweight, but I now KNOW, I can get to feeling better than I have ever felt inside and out and do it in a healthy way!! And not have to be underweight or overweight. Because good health makes YOU feel good. It allows the channel between you and source to flow better. Prayer is also a great motivator, sincerely pray and look inward, especially now.
It resonated with me what you said about gratitude. I actually woke this morning thinking about how many bad things I have gotten into seeking happiness instead of gratitude!!! When you stop trying to seek what you think will give you that endorphin rush or seratonin boost (what you're thinking is influenced by a lot of outside factors, not all are pure) and you start thinking about what you have and what you can do with it, naturally you think more inwardly, and I have known from losing everything once you strip it all away you realize you're everything, because we're part of the whole of God's creation and are connected spiritually to everything and everyone in the universe. And when you think about quantum physics and string theory you see we have so much power with thought, emotions, and intentions alone. We're so much more powerful than we think.
Y'all get your bodies right because the body is your temple. Physical and mental health synergistic. We need all the strong ones we can get. So get motivated, you can do it if you prepare yourself for success. Have a plan, have a list, do your meal preps, and start your routines.
I love coffee too but would never take it at 11pm.
People have a spiritual void inside that we are driven to fill. It should be filled with God, but if it isn’t, it will be filled with something else. People try to fill it political activism, food/diets, social activism/pet causes, substance addictions, whatever. But they are false Gods so people still feel unfulfilled.
Yes, yes and yes.
Hey Jarella! I didn’t know that you also watch Kimi haha
Ngl, I’ve always been more agnostic, but seeing the way people, especially kids my age & younger, worship celebrities, politicians, etc, and the way they try to force others to have the exact same worldview has always been disturbing to me.
They’re seeking attention & validation, but because they don’t have a religion that they can turn to, they push those insecurities on everyone around them instead. Easier to drag people down to their sad state than try and rise above it.
@@yvonnesolomon3357 it’s easier to blame everything and everyone else outside of them rather than do the very difficult work involved in self-reflection. Force the world to accept your faults instead of improving yourself. People feel empty inside but refuse to reconcile that.
God Bless! Everyone can do what they can do.
-Gratitude, not grievance.-Definitely this is a healthy mindset. ❤️
My experience as a fat person is way too different. I used to be very skinny and I got more mean comments when I was skinny than now that I'm fat. I only get comments, and not necessarily mean, but shocked, from people that knew me from before and see the change.
I have been buying food for heart healthy diet it has been expensive . Need to grow my own food lol
Have you tried legumes? I mean things like lentils, chickpeas, beans... I'm from Spain, and maybe there those are quite expensive, but here they are quite cheap and have always been the base of what the folk would eat because it was what people could afford. And it you talk about Mediterranean diet, you have to talk about legumes because they're the base. Granted, it's not fast food, you have to soak them the day before and they need long cookings , you can't do them in the spur of the moment. But you can cook them in bulk and you can freeze them. And there are bunch of recipies do you can have a lot of variaty and you can make them with different ingredients depending on what you have access to at any giving moment.
I'm a chronically ill person, so for me having a healthy diet is especially important and if it wasn't for legumes I would struggle a lot to eat healthy, tbh. This way, I can eat healthy without breaking the bank. And Thank God, because chronic conditions can get pretty expensive.
Pro tip: If you think this could be good option for you, I recommend you to buy a electric cooking pot, a pressure one. It's a little bit of an investment but they make things easier because you can do other things, even living the house while cooking (and if you're like me and tend to forget things, it's a life saver, literally). Regular pressure pots are also a good option because they reduce the time needed of cooking but you can't leave those unattended.
I don't know why algorithm has brought me here, but I think it would be good if we could start a "healthy" conversation. I really value your point in this video about the wokeness in general, however, I think you have a misunderstanding on what vegan/veganism is about. Veganism is a social justice movement that is dedicated to, to quote your own words, "extending the compassion to" non-human animals who are being needlessly enslaved, abused and killed for our food, clothing, entertainment, etc. Vegans don't view themselves as more superior than animals thus deem animals need our protection. We consider animals has the same moral worth to an extend that they get to live their live without humans inflict unnecessary harm upon them. On the contrary, it's the human supremacy that leads to treating them as mere objects and resources, and to striping away their bodily autonomy just to fulfil our own greed.
The argument you gave in this video are the ones that have been debunked many times. Take crop kill for example, first, most crop farmers are non-vegans who don't give a damn about insects and wild animals, second, raising animals require far more crops (and land, water, etc) to feed them than if we just consume the crops ourselves.
Bottom line is, you can be unwoke, taking care of yourself, and minimizing the harm to sentient animals by going vegan. If you are willing to discuss further more, you can always reach out to me.
Okay this is absoulut BS. I can agree that religion boundels a lot of human impulses, but to charcterise the impulse to do good as "religious" is not logicaly cohernt.
1:12 When you're out of breath from walking to the fridge then you're too fat. Eat veggies and lift.
I like your comments on being fat. You are correct about being unhealthy by being over weight. And the over weight person needs to take care by losing weight in a healthy way. Being a vegetarian is good for some people and is a diet. But veganism is not a dietary at all. It is only politics, eating politics is not a healthy diet. That is what Veganism is, politics. Now for dieting, every one is on a diet. Diet is the food and drinks you consume, that is the basic definition.
Hi Kimi, I came across your channel a little while ago and I love your content. You’re very articulate and intelligent. Thank you for sharing important topics like this💖
It's actually ok to be vegan, but agressive veganism is not hte way to go about it.
If you know the "correct" way to advocate veganism, why aren't you turned vegan yet? Hmmmm.
As a vegan I approve this message.
Ayyyee!!
judgement helps, but yes I feel like if people didn't like fat people and cared about peoples health outside of themselves, they could encourage and be there to help people with weight issues. Go on a run with them, physically participate with them.
not to mention it's weird how people cry out about medicinal topics like covid but if you actually cared about health why didn't you go after junk food companies, fast food chains, the chemicals they put in alot of food etc.
I dunno.
Give this comment a thumbs-up if Soytheist sent you here.
Oh food is violent now...
Kimi, I am a fan of your content, but have to disagree about what you said about veganism. You touched on it a bit, but I hope you make a longer video on this issue.
I’ve been a vegan for 2 years now, and although it definitely frustrates me that this “trend” isn’t taking off as quickly as I thought it would, I do not see people who eat meat as bad, nor do I see myself as superior, I just know these facts:
-70 billion land animals and trillions of fish are killed each year for food.
-cows are impregnated each year to give birth so they can produce milk for us humans (baby calfs are taken away days later to either be killed for veal or turned into another milking machine)
-factory farmed chickens live an average of 42 days before being slaughtered
-in most of the western world, we have everything we need to live vegan.
Being vegan is just about doing the least harm you can. We know that animals will get killed in the process of cultivating plant food, but it doesn’t justify killing of billions more sentient beings.
Well said and thank you for saying something about this 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Trump Jr. Needs to see this video he was just talking about this .
Yess! This is so so good.
👍
Once the Woke get themselves talked into the ICU, it's usually downhill from there.
Once again thank you for this
Wow, you have great points but everything you said about Veganism is wrong. Veganism isn't a religion or a cult or even a trend, and isn't calling everyone else a bad person. Good people can do bad things, just like bad people can do good things. You say we need to have difficult conversations and challenge our expectations, but you're not challenging your own and you're putting out misinformation about being Vegan. Veganism isn't caring for non-human animals but simply not supporting the needless death of animals, it also supports human rights (slaughterhouse workers and indigenous people losing land) as well as animal rights. Your experience of being vegan is just an anecdotal story, it's not scientific evidence. There are plenty of peer reviewed studies that show veganism is not just better for the environment, the animals but also your health. If you want to speak out against oppression and the marginalized, then speak up for all oppression and marginalization (which includes non-human animals). :-)
Animals eat other animals, wake up to reality. Humans are NOT herbivores
I think there is a point to be made about veganism and trends and what not, but I feel like this conversation about the topic lacked a complete understanding of the term and the purpose of eating a vegan diet. It’s a huge topic, so I understand, but I think this is not Kimi’s strong suit, and I would recommend she use other examples to make the point she was trying to make about work culture. Check out Unnatural Vegan! She’s talked a lot about veganism, and the problems of woke culture and the problems it breeds.
I guess we can eat eggs to avoid meat as in eggs there is every kind of vitamin and mineral we need - including this thing (dont remember the name) which can care for not having too much of cholesterol. But either way - eggs or meat - when you dont want to get fat you must eat proteins and fats not sugars :) I know it sound strange but that is how it works. Proteins (animals and plants) are basic if we want to have strengh and be smart. Our brains developed becouse of changing diet from fruits to meats when our ancestors left trees and start to live on the african grassy plains. Its on the predators diet our brain developed. Sugar is very unhealthy thing for our brains needs. A bit of sugar (2 bits of chocolate or 1 spoon of sugar in my morning coffe) feels good when we are under stress or worn out but more is very unhealthy for our brains and we can feel sleepy and have problems with focus and dont want to think :) Sugars and carbs are problems, becouse we are going fat on sugars and carbs not proteins (including natural fats - like oil and butter). Proteins and fats we can use at once by sport and by work but with sugar there is this problem that its excess is stored in our body as fat. We can work up fat-diet and its changing in sugar for being used for day to day work but we can not work up sugar-diet becouse sugar is our storage suply for later time :) So when we want to get slimmer we must eat proteins (including good fats) and work up a lot constantly. Any dose of sugar during the work up or sport and we add to our storage of fat.
One of my most favorite pastimes is buying the latest edition of the Swimsuit Illustrated magazine, being excited to see my favorite models and aspiring to be fit like them. Always just looked passed the too skinny girls. The other day I grabbed the latest edition and there were girls that were a good size 22 in there! What is the point if there’s nothing to be enchanted about…nothing to to aspire too??? This wokeness takes away the light in working for a beautiful body and earning it.
Is on social media or a public forum people's lifestyle is NON of anyone's business unless I bring it up.
People!!!! seriously What would happen if everyone just ignored and didn't respond anything pertaining to be in the woke? Unless it was mandatory and related to your own individual life?
I don't give AF about the world movement STOP people... especially UA-camrs fck'n start ignoring these Is emotionally insecure unfortunates.
Being vegan has absolutely nothing to do with health. Veganism is 100% about animal rights and liberation.
I want to address a few things you said about veganism.
1) You mentioned that many people look to veganism for a marker that they are a good person in lieu of faith. There are many vegans of faith, including myself. Also, seeking to live in a way that minimizes harm to animals in every way possible is exactly the kind of life that God and Jesus both taught to live. I would also say that a vegan who tried honestly and earnestly to cause as little suffering as possible has 1000x more of a moral compass than a Christian, Jew, or Muslim that doesn't give a shit about animals or their suffering.
2) "Farming crops actually kills a lot of rodents and a lot of creatures just the same." A wild mouse being killed in wheat harvest is NOT the same as a cow who was forcibly bred into existence, imprisoned and sexually exploited for her milk for two years until her body was so spent that she was sent to a slaughterhouse where she was shot in the head with a bold gun and her throat was slit until she bled out. Moreover, animals eat MUCH more crops than humans do. Meaning you have to kill even more rodents when harvesting the crops to feed the animals that are then fed to humans. So, crop deaths are actually an argument for veganism.
3) "Other animals don't have a problem killing for food" Other animals kill and rape each other every day. Should we point to them as an excuse to rape and kill each other? Why are we using what horrible things animals do as an excuse to do horrible things? If you believe in God, you believe he gave us free will and moral agency. Use that free will and moral agency to do GOOD, not to use animals as an excuse to kill.
4) There is not one single essential nutrients that we get from meat, cow breast milk, or chicken eggs that we can't get from plants. The only thing present in those "foods" that isn't in plants is cholesterol. And considering Cholesterol is a major contributor to heart disease, cancer, and many other most common causes of death in America, I think were fine skipping it. (Your body also naturally makes Cholesterol from Saturated Fat which is in some plant based foods)
5)Veganism doesn't give you a sense of superiority. I cannot think of any action that screams superiority more than thinking your own greed and taste pleasure justify imprisoning, sexually exploiting, and killing an animal.
6)Nothing was worse for my mental health than eating the bodies and animals that felt nothing but fear, suffering, pain, and anguish for their short, tortured lives.
I thank God every single day that he opened my eyes to vegansim. Once I started looking through the world through the eyes of the true victims on this planet, the animals, veganism was the only decision.
Love this comment and I couldn't agree more!
For every nonexistent problem an ideology have to find a name, thats how we can assume its existing - microagression. :D
and the channel vegan phobic
The argument about the farm crops killing animals is very nonsensical. Most crops are planted to feed the animals that later will be killed for meat, so way more animal are killed in farm crops to produce meat than to feed people vegetables. Not consuming meat is a way to avoiding the dead of those animals.
And animals eating others animals is not the same thing. Animals need to eat others animals to survive, us humans don't, we eat meat for pleasure.
I've been eating vegan for a while now...but I'm concerned that doing the Hannibal Lecter diet may in fact be bad for me...you know, with that whole "You are what you eat" thing....don't want to turn into a douchebag.

Would love to DM you, if you don’t mind
I’m a vegetarian and think that everyone that can be vegan, happy, and healthy at the same time absolutely should. But absolutely with the caveat that it must be doable to be happy and healthy. If you’re not, it won’t last, and you’ll come out of it with another negative story to shed a negative light on veganism. My reasons for not doing it is that I’m an extremely picky eater (I honestly probably only eat like 50 different foods) and every vegetable I buy rots in the fridge or gets left on my plate, wasting food. I need to be able to eat whatever vegetarian items have protein without worrying about it having eggs or dairy. I totally understand so many people’s reasons for not doing it, I only don’t like it if someone actively shames it and won’t consider why it could be a good idea. Most nutritionists agree that the western population on average needs a more plant-based diet because there are health risks with eating more dairy and meat than fruits and vegetables, hence the obesity rate and top causes of death.
As a christian vegan I totally agree with you when you said that many vegans turn their lifestyle choice into a religion as a way to confirm to themselves that they are a "good" person. I am a huge fan of eating a plant based diet that isn't 100% vegan as that isn't realistic for everyone's situation, and every small step we take towards a more plant-based lifestyle is a step away from inhumane practices of factory farming and is a step closer to the original Eden diet I believe we were made for. It's not about being perfect, but rather being compassionate to all of God's creatures, especially our brothers and sisters who may not be following the same lifestyle we are.
cows are slow and delicious and if we didn't thin their numbers by eating them, the world would be shrouded in giant clouds of methane.
