villa fan here but got a massive soft spot for Bradford hope you guys do something well this season, I’ll be looking at the scores hoping for you guys 🙏🙏
As an impartial observer i would say lack of investment on the pitch is the problem , the board need to talk to the fans and explain what the plan is going forward and stick to it !
Bradford are the Man. Utd. of the 2nd. Div. Massive support, all the facilities, but can't get it together. In both clubs the problems start in the boardroom and transfer down to the playing side. Until they sort that out they will stay mid table.
I think it's the mentality also of. alarge proportion of the fanbase. They don't demand better, if you accept mediocrity and happy clap clap then guess what you will bet. Too many fans are not looking objectively at us as a club. All I can say is thang the lord for people like sam.
You have said it bang on mate we aren't good enough. Promotion is a must but I cant see it at all this year. New manager and new ideas needed fast before this season. December is a tough month with some really hard games.
Agree about the mentality, you touched on the fact we never put 3, 4, or 5 past anyone - if we go a goal up the mentality is to defend which results in late goals hurting us. Back end of last season we seemed to have a go at teams which now looks like it was due to the pressure being off as our play off hopes were slim. Rupp and Sparks are failing but that's no excuse for these players to perform so poorly
It was no surprise when that late goal went in. You can't spend 100 minutes defending and expect to keep a clean sheet. The goal was a carbon copy of the last minute one at Colchester a couple of years back!! Every team now knows to come at us from the off and we will generally cave in. Not always but often. A good team does not get overrun early on like we did at Harrogate, Morecambe, and Colchester. We cannot get hold of the ball against these bottom end clubs - which suggests the players are simply not good enough. The midfield and attack are virtually last season's team - which was not good enough. Seven of Saturday's starters were here last season and three of the other four were loanees. So all last season's issues remain. A dodgy defence, a weak midfield, 8:46 and only one goalscorer! My last season, I suspect, after 72 of them!
I think the warning signs of the issues at the top that spread down were obvious when Alexander talked about the “bag of bitterness”. That just sounded like he had been listening to Sparks too much. As a fan base we are actually too optimistic at the start of the season because we keep being promised this season will be different. And most fans take that in good faith. Even this season many fans were ignoring the lack of quality of permanent signings saying yeah but we showed we mean business by signing Sarcevic. But ignoring the fact that there were a load of top L2 players available this summer which we didn’t sign, when we were supposed to have investment from Rupp. The one out one in policy seemed very much in place (eg we couldn’t afford to bring anyone in until one went out). Sharpe hasn’t the power many think he has, so Sparks still has final say on football matters. But fans were positive at the start of the season, as they are every season, and Alexander had the backing of fans last season. So where did the bag of bitterness idea come from? I suspect from Alexander listening to certain people running the club, certainly not from his personal experience at the club. And that’s the problem, a mentality that spreads because it is a club mentality under the current ownership.
@jamesh6671 yeah it wasn't great I agree but I'm sure you'll agree points not performances win games and that's what gets u up the league to possible promotion...We are lacking on both fronts recently but to be 8th with all the injuries we've had and still have to key players then I'm hopeful of an upturn in fortunes in the very near future in our results especially away from home...🐔🐓🏟💪🏼⚽️😍
Nothing will change at this club until Rupp sells. We were promised jam tomorrow late last season by the owner and Sparks does not inspire confidence at all. The fans won’t fall for empty promises again. The recruitment yet again has been dire. Over the hill midfielders and Gent again just calling up his NE contacts. And what of the new element in the mix at management level. Nada. Not a dickie. I did hope that him coming in was a sign that Dave Whelan might have one last punt at owning a club and hand it down to his son-in-law. You can only hope. For now I’m totally with you fella. It has to be Rupp and Sparks at minimum out of this club. There is no way forward with them in charge.
Unless we get promoted me and a couple of others ain’t buying season tickets next year. They have made false lies and promises for a few seasons now, it’s a waste of time/money and mental health going to the games.
Why is it no matter what players or manager we have we seem to have the same issues as a team - lack of goals scored and late goals conceded to name 2, there are others? Thanks for uploading.
Because Bradford have always done stuff on the cheap largely.... the only time we did actually spend any money we either bankrupted ourselves (Carbone) or just bought utter trip (Aaron Mcleaan). We just never seem to invest where it matters - and that's the quality of the back room team and then back that team with funds. You know, like a proper club does.
I’m convinced that Harry Ibbotson is the long term replacement for Cook. But i can’t really judge it properly because he never gets a look in. Thats a crime in my book. Giving bang average professionals a contract and denying the youth an opportunity. It worked for Bobby and he’s class but both Hughes and now Alexander are too scared and not committed to the club fully to take a calculated risk and develop our young players.
IAM SURPRISED AS AN OBSERVER FROM SCOTLAND IAM SURPRISED THIS CLUB HAS NEVER BEEN BOUGHT OVER LIKE WREXHAM ETC .ITS A FANTASTIC FAN BASE GOOD STADIUM .THEY SHOULD NOT BE IN LEAGUE 2 FOR SURE .MINIMUM CHAMPIONSHIP .
We don't own Valley Parade we only lease it from Gordon Gibb and we don't own our training ground either so these are 2 major disadvantages when a prospective buyer looks at the club v other clubs...Plus Rupp wants way 2 much for a club without them 2 majorly important parts...
Rupp, Sparks and Gent need to do one asap imo...The letter from Rupp wasn't worth the paper it was wrote on tbh...Full of blatant lies and Rupp has gambled on City getting promoted this season on the cheap so he can sell the club as a league one club next season and get more money back on his original investment when he took over... Until the cycle of this ownership is gone from city we are probably not gonna get promoted from this division unless we are very very lucky (and let's be honest as city fans we hardly get any luck in our favour) so get Rupp, Sparks and Gent out asap and get a new ambitious owner in who can work hand in hand with David Sharpe and the management staff to finally get this club on an upward trajectory!!!... Do I think Alexander is also part of the problem at the club?...No I don't and I'm pretty sure if we were guaranteed a new owner with Sparks and Gent out on top most city fans would remain behind him to spearhead an assault on firstly league one and then hopefully higher in time...Frustration is rife amongst us all with this trio of chancers and jokers (Rupp & Sparks)that run this club and have a say on our recruitment (Gent) to the point now that if it goes wrong this season I don't see that any of those 3 have any wriggle room to remain at the club... Great video Sam...Interested to read other people's opinions and possibly Sam u could do a spin off video based on the comments on this video from us the fans...Think it would generate alot of interest amongst us on here...CTID 🐔🐓🏟😍
Last chance this season for me, big January window needed, injured players to return, no excuses, promotion or nothing this season or i think there will be a big decline in season ticket sales next season
Absolutely nothing to do with mentality. Too many poor players and poor long term signings from the bargain basement. Still think Alexander has a chance of getting us up this season, maybe via the play offs, but if he does he will have worked a minor miracle. That goal at the weekend was just poor organisation at the far post. Halliday marking two men and Halliday is shocking in the air anyhow. Three central defenders all together in the middle looking around aimlessly. Ability and / or organisation in that instance. A preponderance of late goals points to a lack of fitness, not an issue with mentality. That has definitely been the case in previous seasons, but less so this from what I've seen.
That’ll why l ditched my season ticket last season after 11years ,they are definitely going nowhere, vote with your feet it’s the only way to get results
I cannot believe the media team thought it would be progressive to advertise and try to entertain a pointless EFL trophy match given present form. Posts like this lead to the obvious conclusion that the club don’t value the fans’ perspective of the football club, they just see us as consumers who they need as many of as possible inside of the ground to reduce the financial losses of the club in recent years, mainly as a result of continued mediocrity. Under Rupp this club has been nothing short of a social experiment, and there is little reason to change unless less people walk through the doors on a Saturday afternoon and merchandise sales fall. I understand that our fanbase is one of the most loyal in the division and shouldn’t have to miss games in order to see change, but football is a business and business decline is a big indication change is necessary
These stats are terrible, and drawing a conclusion from them is daft. Say City have conceded five goals after 85 minutes every season, they end up with 30 goals in this analysis. Now, imagine a club who finishes bottom one season, and concedes 10 after 85 in one season, but because they are bottom, they fall out of the analysis, and are not counted, because they have "only conceded" 10 goals after 85 per season, but that is because they are only posting a record for one year out of six. What you'd be looking for is the percentage of goals conceded after 85 minutes, and get a ranking of them. All this analysis tells you is which clubs have been in the league for more seasons than other teams, and we already knew that.
villa fan here but got a massive soft spot for Bradford hope you guys do something well this season, I’ll be looking at the scores hoping for you guys 🙏🙏
Doubt it, one step forward
Mid table few points of play-offs but if cook gets injured 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
There is NO room for Ryan Sparks at this Football Club
Andy Cook is just about keeping us in this league
True
As an impartial observer i would say lack of investment on the pitch is the problem , the board need to talk to the fans and explain what the plan is going forward and stick to it !
We asked for that at the end of last season, we got a letter from Rupp promising this….. nothing since…
Without Andy Cook, we wouldve been in non league along time ago!!
Yep. I don’t disagree.
Bradford are the Man. Utd. of the 2nd. Div. Massive support, all the facilities, but can't get it together. In both clubs the problems start in the boardroom and transfer down to the playing side. Until they sort that out they will stay mid table.
Bring in a real fan mark springs to mind
I wouldn't say all the facilities. We don't own the ground or training ground.
The mentality at Bradford City has been a big issue ever since Rupp & Rahic took over
I think it's the mentality also of. alarge proportion of the fanbase. They don't demand better, if you accept mediocrity and happy clap clap then guess what you will bet. Too many fans are not looking objectively at us as a club. All I can say is thang the lord for people like sam.
Great video. But we made playoffs he says sitting next to his next new manager since playoffs. Manager who wasn't his first choice.
You have said it bang on mate we aren't good enough. Promotion is a must but I cant see it at all this year. New manager and new ideas needed fast before this season. December is a tough month with some really hard games.

Why does every club think they should be doing this, that or the other? There's only so much room and most clubs are just not good enough.

what do you expect when you have Platten and Indra in charge?
Absolutely bang on great video
Wise words Sam.
Mentality surely typical of the Colchester game hanging on for grim death to 1-0.
Put the game to bed with a bottom club 🤔
No offense bradford fans your football was shit from a colchester fan

I don't understand why fans do protest like other fans do!!
@@andybcfc73 because a large proportion of our fans are happy to accept mediocrity. They don't dream bigger and just accept what is fed to them.
We are so shit at the moment 😩
David Sharp is under-performing … again.
Time for change!
