    It's worth bearing in mind
    #the brakes could have been warn down to metal or more
    #the pot may be pushed further out than the tool allows for use
    #the pot may be stuck
    #you may have to use two large flat bladed screw drivers to help the tool push the pot back enough to get the tool plate correctly fitted
    #The tool manufacturers only supply one thickness of plate they have not supplied a thinner plate for those people who never change their rear pads .
    #Turn and push it can be difficult .
    #Tie up the caliper with plastic ties to help steady it get a helper to assist you if the pot is stuck hard to push in .
    Thank you for the video very good 😊

    Hi, @4:02 When you turn the piston in it has to turn to come out how is it if it goes in to brake shoes back pin then cant turn i usually push the piston back and it will adjust itself what if someone dosnt line it like you say then what?

    • @backyardchevy328
      @backyardchevy328  3 роки тому

      Well when theyre lined up the caliper piston sits flush against the brake pad..so if it doesnt when u go to pull the parking brake the piston will try to rotate and it may damage the face of the piston..it can cause brake pad to wear excessively and drag cause the piston wont retract as it normally would..or it may also line up on its own if lucky.

      @@MrGilly no, dont want to do that with it taken apart it may pop out too far..u can try putting a hose on the bleeder screw (so it doesnt spray out when compressing)and open it see if that helps u compress it..just try to avoid letting air get inside of caliper but its still best to bleed it if it does work

      Parking brake is off? You are pushing in as u rotate it? Some u do have to rotate counterclockwise..normally thats european vehicles though

      Lol...well u can put blocks of wood or wheel chocks in front and behind the front tires..then if ur front wheel drive the transmission will also hold it

    Why do is it need to be turned ? Can some one explain why the piston needs to be turned in why can it just be pushed in ?
