Vermont Black is a great looking textured blend looking roof. No two slates are exactly alike. More textured slate vs a SW Green. When you run into bad slates, it starts to make you feel crazy. Is this one good, is this one bad. You dont plan putting your most experienced roofer sorting slates. The normal problem with Vermont Black are the bumps on the front and back and they wont lay flat. One thing i will comment on are these new Vermont pallets/crates. Who ever is making these, they are garbage. Nothing like the pallets that all Vermont Slate companies use in the past. The old ones are hardwood pallets that you can restack anything on. Take down the headers, put them back in. The problem with these crates/pallets are you cant reuse them. Thats why they look like they do in the video.
