Installing a SoftStartRV on Dometic Penguin ll Air Conditioner

I'm helping Randi, / @randisadventures , do some upgrades to her 2018 Little Guy Max Trailer and in this video I'm installing a SoftStartRV on her Dometic Penguin ll 13.5k BTU Air Conditioner. A SoftStartRV dampens the big amp needs of the Dometic Penguin ll air conditioner when it's compressor starts. Dampening this big amp spike to a small level of amperage in-rush current to that of what a 20a shore power circuit or a Xantrex 3000w Inverter and Xantrex 480ah Lithium batteries or a small 2200w generator can supply. Allowing the Little Guy Max Trailer's air conditioner to be run in more ways than just by a 30a shore power supply as is currently required. Adding a SoftStartRV to your air conditioner is a good idea regardless of the kinds of batteries you have because it gives you more flexibility in running your air conditioner. For example you could camp from a 20a shore power connection instead of always needing 30a pedestal power. You could mouchdock in a friend’s or family's driveway and plug into their garage 20a outlet and run the air conditioner and other trailer 120vAC items.
A SoftStartRV is absolutely necessary for Randi to run her air conditioner from her new Xantrex 3000w Inverter and Xantrex 480ah Lithium battery system.

The paper instructions mentioned taking off compressor cap and using a 4' short wire takes supplied in the kit. Notice you don't use that?
