- Time for a playthrough I've been wanting to do for a while!
Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is a 2015 video game for the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4, developed by Media.Vision and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, and based on the Digimon franchise. It is the fifth game in the Digimon Story series, following 2011's Super Xros Wars, and the first to be released on home consoles. In July 2015, Bandai Namco announced that an English version of the game was in development and expected to be released sometime in 2016, and will feature cross-save functionality between the two platforms

I grew up loving digimon and Pokemon and I'm glad that they brought us digimon so far I played it on the ps4 I love it

I have to say that Mega Man Star Force is an all time favorite game of mine. Love to see another fan.
I decided to rewatch these, which also inspired me to continue my games that I have. I have two save files, and I think I'm gonna continue the second 'newer' one.
The first file's main team is Infermon, CannonBeemon, and Titamon with standbys being Growlmon, Devimon, Gatomon, PlatinumSukamon, MirageGaogamon, Aquilamon, Tyrannomon, and RizeGreymon.
The second file's main team is Chirinmon, CannonBeemon, and Veedramon with standbys being ExVeemon, Sunflowmon, Dorugamon, and Lopmon.
I was having troubles settling on which let's play I should watch but hearing your enthusiasm for the digimon franchise made me want to watch yours. Btw you sound like Chuggaconroy and WhitemageSerenia sometimes ;] which is awesome.

The show you were talking about at around 3:28 is Spy vs Spy.
That 'tennis thing' you're talking about appears to be a shuttlecock. They are used in a game similar to tennis, called badminton.

You really should have just read the subtitles out load. I dont speak Japanese and if I have to read subtitles on my phone it's very inconvenient. I also can't do absolutely anything else with my day while watching these videos if I have to drop everything to read

Might I ask what it was you didn't like about Savers? I thought it was awesome, like Tamers (my favorite season) it told a darker, more mature story than the other seasons. The characters, both human Digimon alike develop well though Yoshino and Lalamon are admittedly bland. It had a great unrepentant human villain you couldn't help but despise and his defeat is the most satisfying of any villain in the show's history. Even though it was rushed, the Royal Knights/Yggdrasil arc was still effective as a climax and Savers had some awesome fights and some of the best music (japanese version anyway) in the show. I really have to nitpick to find stuff about it I didn't like but it's firmly below Tamers and above every other season in my eyes.
Marcus Damon was one of the most annoying protagonists to watch imo. He was annoying and the idea of humans fighting against digimon without any sort of digimon assistance, (Biomerging, spirit evolving) I was not a fan of(I would always roll my eyes each time Marcus would punch a digimon). I haven't watched it in a long time but I don't remember much character development myself, I always found Thomas and Yoshino rather bland, and Markus annoying, though I did like Keenan. The digimon partners were also as bland/annoying as their partners, Agumon was just as annoying to me as Markus was, though I did enjoy Gaomon's relationship as a sort of butler esque partnership with Thomas given he was a rich boy.
The ending I found incredibly stupid, because instead of ShineGreymon Burst mode fighting(Which the mega/burst forms of all the partners was one of the things I liked the most about season 5 since they were all brilliantly designed imo), Agumon got some stupid red phoenix aura that just looked ridiculous. I didn't like the human villains either, they were incredibly one dimensional from what I remember, and the way they turned Belphemon into a pawn for the human villain(Whatever his name was) and had him merge with Belphemon and put his stupid face on his chest irked me since Belphemon is one of my favourite digimon overall.
They also rushed the Royal Knight saga imo, they didn't even use all of them, only about half, in the first real animated use of the group(I don't really consider Frontier to have used them, since it was just Dynasmon and Crusadermon). I also found the Marcus's father subplot to be dumb, probably because I was so annoyed by Marcus himself.
I didn't really think it was any darker than the other digimon series, really the only digimon series I would consider 'darker' than the rest is Tamers, because each digimon series ends with a threat of a powerful foe(Apocalymon, MaloMyotismon, D-Reaper, Lucemon, Yggdrasil, and Bagramon), trying to destroy the human world(Or something similar to that). The two worlds colliding really wasn't any different to me than when Lucemon broke through to the human world only to be pulled back by Susanoomon, or Bagramon appearing in the real world at the end of Xros Wars. I would only consider Tamers 'darker' because of the subplot with Jeri, (Which tbh I didn't like because I'm not even a fan of something like digimon being 'darker', to me it was always meant to be a bit more of a lighthearted series, since it is aimed at kids.)
But if you liked it, then more power to you dude, I personally just didn't find it enjoyable, and most people I've talked to have said the same. But everyone does have different tastes, so I'm glad at least some people enjoyed it in it's entirety rather than just a few very small things with it like I did.
To be fair, they did explain (eventually) why Masaru could fight Digimon (to an extent) that being that his digisoul was considerably stronger than everyone else's (except his father) and I liked how it made Masaru and Agumon more of a team. Agumon wasn't just a moving meat shield for the defenceless partner, he was enjoyable in his own right. Their bro-ness was one of the best parts of the series for me though I did like how genuinely torn Masaru was when Chika met Biyomon and at least he gave him a fair shot at protecting Chika in a cool scene. Mind you what I've seen of the englsh dub was horrible (and may have hurt your viewing experience) so if you haven't seen the original version I recommend it.
Well most of Masaru's development was getting over his recklessness and daddy issues, I thought the scene where he punched Yggdrasil in Suguru's body was epic as shit though him landing the finishing blow on Belphemon was the most hype moment in the series. Touma had to get over his mother's death and being treated like an outcast by the Nornstein's (except his sister) because he was born of a different mother and Gaomon was a badass for his master. Already admitted Yoshino was bland and Ikuto was my favourite character along with Falcomon. Satsuma was a badass mentor and the Kudamon/Sleipmon twist was one of the best in the series though Bancholeomon (best digimon character) stole the fucking show later on.
Yggdrasil's defeat at least made sense though as Masaru/Agumon absorbed everybody's digisoul to amp themselves enough to punch out a digital god. Belphemon, even by his profile is pretty much just a mindless berserker and that was as god as any to bring him in IMO. Yeah Kurata's face was kind of distracting but he was the villain you wanted to see die, I just enjoyed how unrepentant and unlikable he was and like I said, his defeat was the hypest moment in the show. I understand Belphemon is one of your favourites but he isn't exactly main villain material and that was really the only way around it.
I actually enjoyed the build-up to the Suguru plot-twist and it gave Masaru more motivation to fight on in the end. As for the Royal Knights, I conceded that was rushed but it was awesome how they used the minimal time they had to develop the Royal Knights that were making their first appearance. Craniumon and Sleipmon were two of my favorite characters from Savers and Duftmon gave use two burst modes (totally agree on those being awesome). Lordknightmon getting beaten again actually kind of annoyed me though seeing a Royal Knight Dukemon be a badass was cool.
I'm not talking about the worlds colliding when I say it was dark but just the general tone. Biyomon coming back to life and trying to kill everyone because he lost all his memories, Touma being tortured with the death of his mother by Metalphantomon, Ikuto being separated from his mother at birth and witnessing the death of his adopted mother. Dynasmon completely nuking what looked like New York presumably killing millions of people, several cities being completely destroyed. Kurata's near genocide of the Digimon and Masaru having to kill his own father in an unsuccessful attempts to defeat Yggdrasil. Oh and Masaru's anger causing Agumon's death. Things were just taken more seriously, death had consequences even for Digimon, just like Tamers. Honesty the full psychological breakdown of Juri, proper greying of all the villains by giving them legit motivations and the near total (un repaired) destruction of the digital world and Digimon by the D-reaper is the only reason it tops Savers in maturity. They're still both kids shows but they're undeniably a step up from the rest in that department.
I appreciate a kids' show that has the guts to go dark especially when it helps the story, its one of the main reasons Tamers and Savers are better than every other season IMO, aside from just general superiority. I completely understand you might not like that but yeah, everyone has different tastes.I liked Savers, I hated Adventure 02 because it was a plot-hole ridden mess but you might like it. But yeah, well just have to agree to disagree on the Savers front.

Y'know, what annoys me about this game is that despite the Digimon Story being exclusive to the Nintendo DS prior to this game, this game is neither on the 3DS, nor a Nintendo system in general, which feels like a betrayal of sorts

Is this game worth getting?
Would highly recommend getting Cyber Sleuth complete edition for the Switch/PC. This game is good and the second one, Hacker's Memory, is the best Digimon game imo. Both have their flaws but overall very fun.
