GREAT TIP !!!
So wrist circles is to give texture to a piece? How does that work with pianissimo, stacatto, etc?
What are these wrist circles used for?
Many people find this technique a much more comfortable to play, say, fast arpeggios. Idk I could be wrong tho
Although the video is about creating your own exercises, he is saying that you do not only need to use Hanon for its intended purpose (finger independence exercises creating an almost mechanistic, even tone), but the notes in the Hanon exercises, through their simplicity, can be leveraged, away from Hanon's intended purpose, to help a beginner to learn about how to produce a more cantabile, though perhaps slightly less even, beautiful tone. Beginners to piano tend to play robotically and think the piano is all about hitting notes, whereas intermediate and above players focus more on tone (making the piano sing and breathe as though it were human). His full video is in the channel videos.

Wrist circles are a very important thing in piano technique as they are a major key in something called shaping. Shaping is a term used to describe the movement required to execute passage. For example play 5 white keys descending in left hand (thumb-pinky) uses the wrist going under and an in and out in motion.
