What a melody! Sometimes I wonder what would have happened to the music industry without Lata
An eternal song of PAIN after betrayal, penned by Shakeel Badayoni, and composed by Naushaud (who happened to be from the place I was born, my LUCKNOW), everyone is gone but they never left, they are with us, in our thoughts & in our hearts. My respect to the poet and NIMMI who gave this haunting performance.
I am 76 but when I hear these songs I go 60 years back of my boyhood when I was 16 and these were songs of that age. I am absorbed in their music with all my soul. However I feel these are songs of all ages. I donot think ever any body like Noshad Ali and heroin of beuaty like Madhobala would ever born. How genuine and perfect these artists were. This music is our asset

@@raghunathmali9309 opn iyer wanted to record his first first songs with lata ji but she didn't give him time and due to ego clash he never worked .aur unke Pas ASHA thi rafi thi Woh bhi acce thi so successful hua.but matter is about suman and Lata.suman gave so much hits and she started her career mid 50s and Lata ji got famous in 1949 so just in that time period it's not possible for Lata ji to control the directors.and that time there were so many singers like Geeta,shamshad etc.but she made her own mark and if original is present who will go to copy ( suman)

Returning in 2020, world is changing (for good or bad, you decide), despite being older today I feel much stronger (emotionally) and can detach myself from the mood and appreciate the art, I have not seen the movie and perhaps never will, but this clip is immortal, what Shakeel penned, Lata sang, Naushad composed, and Mahboob directed is a pure classic, but here Nimmi is the reigning princess sealing the show, she is giving a performance which keeps her in the league of all those whom we will always remember.
