    This is not the right way to get to know how to use a new ADV motorcycle. First read the manual, next setup the bike for your needs, next practice on easy roads, next wait until after break-in period, then much later go on more challenging ride with a partner. Anyone watching please don't follow the incorrect actions of this rider.

    That drone shot to bike shot was a pretty neat edit.
    I bought this bike 2500kms ago , despite many years previous off road riding experience , haven’t touched dirt on this bike , but being doing 400km days on the back roads .

    Almost all reviews depict Transalp as 90% street bike. You prove that is off-road capable. I’m thinking about swapping my 750GS for something lighter, not tall (for a vertically challenged person), and reliable. Your video moved Transalp to the top of my list. Thanks.

      Exactly, i am on the fence of buying one. I have a CRF300Rally now, but i just want a bit more power while on road, and i would like to be able to get a bit sideways in the dirt.. The 300 does not do any of those 2 things.
      And this guy just shows it's a great offroad bike if you treat it that way.

      check out the transalp vid by YT channel 'Two wheels and wings' , it's one of the best videos i've seen showing that a competent rider can take the Halfrica Twin anywhere the ''real'' ADV bikes will go!

    I'll be watching your channel closely as I'm about to invest in a new adv bike. I previously had a ktm 790s, and the 2023 890s is looking mighty fine. Great all rounders. My little drz400 sm is wrattling me senseless on the road and on the last trip I'm pretty sure i lost feeling in my man-bits. The mods you are doing are in line with my ideas and i am hoping you'll answer some of my questions so i can make up my mind.

      @TheFastphill  Рік тому

      @briano5907 for me the transalp made cents pun intended it is cheap it should be reliable i think it will be good enough off road to do everything i need it to do its good on the road

    MotoZ Desert H/T tires are great in the dirt. They should completely replace Continental TKC80s.
    MotoZ Rallz tires are just as good as the Adventure tires and the rear lasts longer. You'll burn through three front Rallz for every rear, so matching a Desert H/T front with a Rallz rear might be an even swap on the front.

    Hi mate, sounds like we have similar backgrounds of bikes and ride styles. I’ve been looking at the. Transalp myself for the longer adv stuff with the good twin track stuff included,I realise it needs protection and suspension if your going to push, but I hear great things about the bike’s balance and LSGravity. Just wondering your thoughts after riding it for a while now, cheers Paul.

      I don't think i will change the suspension i will just ride to the bike ability i am about 75 Kgs

    Great video thanks what you are using your trans out for is basically exactly the same type of conditions that I want to be using my new bike for, I am really hung up between either the 750 or buying myself a Norden 901, as I love that platform but the value of the transalp seems to almost be too good. So, I'm pretty close to finalising the fast and nimble Transalp XL 750. But at around 16.5K USD (we pay some crazy import taxes) it does seem like a whole lot for its Plain Jane Specs. 2K extra for a off-road /touring capable Rally Build: Tubeless and Suspension Upgrades. So, total 16K USD (5 years Honda Warranty)
    Option 2 is a pre-owned 2019 CRF1000L Africa Twin DCT: clocked 30k kms (decat, poee commander + tubeless spokes rims with heavy duty XL rims + supersrox sprockets + Galfer Wave Rotors + HyperPro Springs Front-Rear + Sprint Waterproof Air Filter + Panniers + Denali D7 and other upgrades) for the same price.
    What say to that??

    I'm surprised you picked the Transalp given it's pedigree of not really being off pavement biased. For riding around mostly in the dirt in Aus, wouldn't a KTM 890 Adventure (or any of Tenere 700, Triumph Tiger 900, Aprilia Tuareg 660, etc) been a better fit for your needs, or a lighter weight dual sport? Just curious...

    I've been waiting since Spring for this bike to arrive in Canada. Now that I have it and spent some time on it I I'll sell it and move on. The bike definitely doesn't live up to the hype. Sorry Honda, that is the wrong engine for that bike. It needs torque not HP.

    • @TheFastphill
      @TheFastphill  11 місяців тому

      @Cardus501 I tried to find a toque and power graph both the power and toque peak are high in the rev range but the bike still pulls from low and it has a very usable rev range strong until 10 000 rpm
