    I’m happy we’re all realizing we don’t need 50 inches of travel and 87 inches of clearance to ride off-road. We’re not doing hard enduro. This Honda is all we need and possible my next purchase in a year or so (if they bring different colors)

    Can you elaborate on why it's more fun than the ktm 790?😊

    • @ADV_Agenda
      @ADV_Agenda  Рік тому +6

      It's more fun in my opinion because I don't have to work the gears in slow situations, the Honda seems to be able to pull out of any situation with the low end grunt 1st,2nd or 3rd gear where the KTM needs to be in a certain RPM range or it starts lugging out making all kinds of weird noises so you're working harder worrying about stalling or over reving

  • @moulin680
    @moulin680 3 місяці тому +1

    Looks like a lot of fun but would be just as fun with the stock Suspension & some luggage is the question.

    Nice!
    I have to say though that after nearly sixty years of riding motorcycles it's been forever since I've thought about "reaching down and grabbing the clutch" as you put it. It's automatic, no conscious thought goes into it. The quick shift thing is not a selling point for me.

      Enjoyed it, thank you. I'd be feathering the clutch still; too old to change that now. 😂 When I test rode one, it felt like the quick shift was messing with me a bit. But like it's not a selling point, it didn't hamper me either. The bike felt good, and I test rode it with my wife on back.

      Amén! With good reason... She's gotta be comfortable enough on it to accompany me on trips, and I want her to mentally "sign off" on the purchase. That's important because if I autonomously choose and purchase it and anything were to happen then my judgement would be questioned. She always says it's up to me but this way she has the opportunity to object beforehand for whatever reason.
      And of course I want to feel how the bike handles with her on the back. It did great BTW. We're decided to get it but we have family through the holidays so other activities will also give the decision time to marinate so it's not an impulse buy. We're in our 43rd year of marriage BTW.

    Great review. Do you have any thoughts or experiences with it on water crossings and also picking it up after a fall?

    What tires are in it?
    Was the quick shifter an option? The one I got to ride a couple times was without the quick shifter. The owner missed that one week when they were throwing them into the deal for free.
    And off road, low-end torque is wonderful, compared to having to high-rev to get any grunt.
    In that regard, the KLR and DR 650's have the right feel. Pretty sure I'll get roasted for that statement.
    Same as the exhaust tone, for me, is less important than the exhaust being quiet and spark arrested.

    Hey Buddy! Congrats on the 100K Subscribers! Here's to the next big milestonr🍻! So, I'm split between getting a pre-owned Tiger 900 Rally Pro (2021/5K kms) and a new Transalp. I know spec-wise they are Oranges and Apples. My riding usage is city and touring; My riding style is pretty Hooliganish. So, here in India (no T7s, Tuaregs or KTM 790/890s here. Even the Honda AT comes in a lowered suspension model) the Tiger 900 Rally is the bike that checks all the boxes. The Maintainance Costs are the Only Red Flags. So, enter the Transalp: it's light and nimble: makes for a good project bike - rally seats, suspension upgrade etc along with Honda's reliability and affordability. What would you suggest?

    • @ADV_Agenda
      @ADV_Agenda  Рік тому +1

      I wish I had 100k😁
      As for the bikes the Tiger is an amazing machine, it's fully loaded with extras and it rides like a dream, it does feel slightly heavier than the Transalp... it is a more polished bike than the Honda .

    • @2-WheelsMoveTheSoul
      @2-WheelsMoveTheSoul Рік тому +1

      @@ADV_Agenda Thanks for that Lightening-Fast response. The Tiger eats up the TA in all ways; but the Honda trumps Triumph in the Affordability and Reliability department. Doing you think that Gap is Huge?

    • @ADV_Agenda

    "IMO"... based on this review and others regarding the Transalp, one has to (from the perspective of a single rider/ no passenger) take a "serious" look at spending approximately $10K +/- more for the various bigger CC adventure bikes. We truly live in a great age for various affordable motorcycles which are "very good".

    • @ADV_Agenda

      Thanks for the quick response. I rode one yesterday but, could only do a short demo ride. Have you ridden a aprilia tuareg 660? I've also test rode that as well. I'm torn between the two. Play it safe and go with the Honda or live a little on the wild side and go with 660.. I'm in your age bracket. I liked the bars on the 660. If I went with the Honda I'd to play around the bars. I would like to hear your opinion if you've ridden the 660

    • @ADV_Agenda
      @ADV_Agenda  10 місяців тому

      @@james8518 out of the box, the Aprilia is hands down. The better bike. All that it needs is heated grips.
      The electronics and the suspension is hands down better than the Transalp.
      The transalp is faster and you need to invest money into it.
      If I was in the market I would buy the Aprilia.. Ian has the same opinion as me on this.
