As a massive fan of THE ROCKETEER (both comic book and movie), this was a real treat! it's a shame Disney doesn't care about the movie and didn't put any extras on the Blu-ray as what you did here would've been perfect! You really did a great, wonderful job. I always wondered where some of the scenes were shot and it's interesting to see what still exists. Great work!
Rocketeer was so underrated and deserved a sequel I'd still like to see one,
I remember the Disney Adventures magazine. I would anxiously wait for every new edition to show up in the grocery store checkout line. The Rocketeer is such a favorite film.
Wow. This was an outstanding documentary. It should have been an axtra on the Blu-ray release. Even though it's fan made, the passion and attention to detail are top notch. I loved it! :)
Wow great work on this video. The Rocketeer was one of my favorite movies as a little kid, I just re-watched it the other night, and your video was the perfect cherry on top for my nostalgia trip. Thank you!
My kids love this movie. I remember seeing it when I was about 12 in the theaters. It brought me great joy to introduce it to them.
this is just awesome i remember this movie as a kid can't believe it's been 30 yrs already 🤦🏽♂️
Brilliant video. Well done on all the research and work that went into putting this together. Also a massive thumbs up to your Mom for the drone! :-)
Your excellent work here brings back so many great memories! I grew up near Griffith Park and loved watching Radar Men from the Moon with Commando Cody as a child which is where I believe the concept for The Rocketeer came from. I took my sons to see the film when it came out and we loved it. In 1992 I took them to Disney World and Universal, and we were fortunate enough to see the Bulldog Cafe along with the Rocket pack, helmet and leather jacket that was on display at the time. It was sad though as the Gee Bee that Howard Hughes gave to Cliff at the end of the movie was there and literally falling apart due to weather. I've built RC airplanes for 50 years and am building a 30% Gee Bee that matches the one in the film. It's the same size as the one hanging in the museum. I've always loved period films, and The Rocketeer is one that we never tire of watching. I wish there could've been a sequel. Thank you so much for the effort you've put into this, I truly appreciate it!
This is pretty epic!
Stanley, thank you for this. I wasn't a comic book kid growing up. They just didn't do anything for me. It wasn't until I discovered the original Rocketeer short stories comics after I got out of the Navy. As much as I love the MCU now, The Rocketeer will always be my favorite superhero! I traveled to WDW back in '94 and got to see the Bulldog Cafe and Gee Bee plane on the Disney/MGM backlot your. That was fun but it looked half-scale to the on-screen set used. Also, around the opening of Disney's California Adventure 20 years ago, you could meet and greet w/ The Rocketeer, standing by Howard Hughes' helioplane, in the Condor Flats area. Thanx again for your time and effort put into this video.
I've been inside the Ennis House. It was during the restoration. It's very much like the Millard House (La Miniatura) here in Pasadena. Absolutely beautiful.
Really well done. I look forward to seeing more like it!
As always so enjoyable to watch. Interesting facts about the movie and I want to check out that museum. Great job!! Oh and i know for a certainty that your mom was thrilled to have a small part in this one. 👍
Great job with this. Lots of work and time put into this. Thanks for all your time and energy to bring this to the true fans of the film
I was looking for a video like yours today of all days since it was 30 years ago tonight that I got to see the movie in theaters for the first time and it's been one of my favorites ever since. This is everything I wanted from a Filming Locations video. Very well put together and clearly alot of research went into it. Kudos to you good sir. 👍
I really enjoyed this! A great and thorough presentation, well done. Thanks for making this!!
