I wish I was introduced to this when I was a Home Health Aide. This is introducing then to their colors, and then work with numbers. I always say Drs, Nurses OT, Slp are the brick and Aids are the glue. Aides are there every day especially when you work in the home.
im confused by this. I didnt think there was much evidence to suggest that you can remediate memory issues post-injury. You can do it for task-specifically but it doesnt translate well to other tasks. I understand it as you need to work on compensatory strategies for people with memory impairments instead of trying to fix the issue. I use this activity for people with visual inattention or visual field loss as it helps them develop strategies to overcome this problem i.e. wider scanning of the visual scene.
So I know this is a VERY old comment but this type of exercises does work on another area: attention, which is a key memory component and which, as far as I know, can be trained.
They are regular playing cards that are enlarged for people with fine motor /dexterity issues; and for patients who are visually compromised. They can be bought at Amazon.com
