People that love a V6 4Runner for its durability can maintain them to last forever. They no longer need to shop for new vehicles and should not waste their time complaining vehicles they are not going to buy on the internet.
I'm just glad it doesn't look like the Land Cruiser or GX550. This has its own look and personality. Don't care if the underpinnings are the same as long as the exterior doesn't look like badge engineering. The biggest improvement needed is the engine. I know, I know the V6 is tried and true, uber reliable. Yes, but it is so underpowered. I moved to a GX460 largely for the improved performance.
The Limited trim doesn't make much sense now that there is the far cheaper Land Cruiser 250 for America. Before the LC250, the price gap between the 4Runner Limited and the real Land Cruiser was too great to threaten sales for the Limited. I predict many people would skip the Limited and pay $7K to 10K more for the LC250. The real offroad enthusiasts would still choose the TRD Pro or Trailhunter trims over the LC250, despite potential price overlaps.
Funny how a lot of the 4Runner guys are so triggered by the new 6th gen. I love my 5th gen but I can also appreciate this new one after 14 yrs of the same 4R. Either way my wife’s new LC is almost here. Great vid brother
The specs will be the same as the Tacoma most likely. 326HP 465lb/ft. It says I Force max in that lower right area where you were unsure. I think it looks beautiful. If I ever got the 4 Runner or Tacoma it would be the Trail Hunter first snd second the TRD Pro then I would do it up more. I have a 3rd Gen Tacoma TRD Off Road now done out with King suspension, Icon Leafs, Icon Uppers, Prinsu roof rack, Baja lights and list goes on. I love it but the next vehicle before they change the motor to a Hybrid will be a V6 Twin Turbo GX 550 Overtrail and I'll dump another 20-30k Canadian dollars into it. Thanks for your videos you showed the most detailed videos discussing the GX 550 before anyone else.

Personally own a nissan xterra, and this looks a lot like the xterra from the side angle. Looks very good in my opinion. I'm still on the fence about the newer engines, don't really like all the extra crap modern engines have. Just my opinion. Also, i didnt know that their engines are made by Yamaha! Crazy. Still keeping an open mind about this!

The engineer said that Taco's T24A is scrupulously reinforced, so it has twice as much durability. I think the headlight unit is completely same as Tacoma, it means the manufacturing plant will be moved from japan to mexico right?

Looks like they gave the 4Runner's transition to 6th gen from 5th gen the same treatment that Tacoma 3rd gen got from 2.5 gen. The skins look different and updated along with the interior, and the engine, but it's going to be a familiar experience. I'm assuming frame updates are going to be similar to that of the Tacoma 4th gen though.

The new Tacoma actually doesn't have a separate cooling system for the Turbo like the Lexus and others. It uses one cooling system for both and has a traditional mechanical water pump. Even says in the owners manual to let it idle to cool the turbo after hard use. Don't know yet which system the Runner will have.
That would be pretty gangster if Toyota didn't include the separate copling system for the 4runner like on the NX, Crown, TX etc... I suppose in theory if they oversized the lone cooling system on the 24 Tacoma it would have the same exact effect as 2 cooling circuits. Again, comes down to the engineering. Would toyota overlook this???

@@MyLifeISLEGENDARY982........37 I'm sure they do, but there is more complexity with a turbo I4 than a NA V6. Intercoolers, more oil plumbing, gaskets, wastegates, ect. More parts = more problems Turbos are great and they are also a wear item that will need replacement 80-120k'ish.
The Forbes article mentions the option of Full-time 4wd, probably for the limited, but it made no mention of E-KDSS, which makes me very sad. Or even KDSS. Having that option on the current gen 4Runner was huge. Now you need to get the Lexus G550 to get any KDSS. I don't know why that has to be a luxury option. KDSS could have given the 4Runner an edge over the Bronco and Wrangler.

They should add more features to the landcruiser. Looks like rear view mirror is digital, heated seats on the rear seats… the gx should get a front locker and some more amenities and give the landcruiser heated rear seats and make ekdss optional for landcruiser. That would differentiate landcruiser from gx and 4runner. Except the looks, 4runner optioned out seems better than the landcruiser.

@@MyLifeISLEGENDARY982........37 I'm sure they do, but there is more complexity with a turbo I4 than a NA V6. Intercoolers, more oil plumbing, gaskets, wastegates, ect. More parts = more problems
Turbos are great and they are also a wear item that will need replacement 80-120k'ish.

The Forbes article mentions the option of Full-time 4wd, probably for the limited, but it made no mention of E-KDSS, which makes me very sad. Or even KDSS. Having that option on the current gen 4Runner was huge. Now you need to get the Lexus G550 to get any KDSS. I don't know why that has to be a luxury option. KDSS could have given the 4Runner an edge over the Bronco and Wrangler.

@@LexusGX460-OFF-ROAD so isn’t 4runner and Land Cruiser kinda redundant? 4Runner with some options and upgraded trim, you can get everything that landcruiser offers. At that point, priced similar, platform and engine the same too. Line up is getting saturated.
They should add more features to the landcruiser. Looks like rear view mirror is digital, heated seats on the rear seats… the gx should get a front locker and some more amenities and give the landcruiser heated rear seats and make ekdss optional for landcruiser. That would differentiate landcruiser from gx and 4runner. Except the looks, 4runner optioned out seems better than the landcruiser.
