- I have a gut feeling that this is the group to beat because it sounds like this group just showed off some great vocals to go with their quirky image. Plus, seeing as they are young college students, they will either get 2nd or win and this is probably the year that the college kids will win....but we'll find out later on if this comes true. A
The harmonies on the "Kirye Elaison" part were probably the best I've ever heard.
This rendition of the song gave me a sensation of peace and freedom.
Amazing performance, these guys rock for real.

Yah, neither did I until now rewatching it all these years later! I also didn’t realize that Kelly Jackle, Joanna Jones, and Adam Chance were on this season of the Sing Off. I’ve been watching them all in other endeavors. What’s really dumb is that I was ALL for SCS to win, but didn’t even realize until just recently when I rewatched “21 Guns”, which I do on a semi-regular basis since it is my absolute fav opening number, that I had to go back and pause it cuz I thot I saw Chance from Home Free, and sure enough, it was him, tho he didn’t compete with them when they won the Sing Off Season 4 and didn’t even join the group until 2016 when Chris Rupp left to pursue other interests. As for Kelly and Joanna, they were on Season 1 in other groups, but were in the same group this season, but they also more recently sang a cover of “Hello” by Adele with Payson Lewis and my all-time fav from AGT, Brian Justin Crum, who I think DIDN'T deserve to be as low as 4th and was robbed of winning and I never liked a single performance of Grace either!
The judges were so ruthless to these guys when they really shouldn't have been, they were so much better then how the judges played them out. There was a reason the ratings dropped so dramatically when they went home.

Cheesy song? I grew up on this song and still like it. Also, I had no idea Peter Hollens was in OTR and on this show -- and only 10 years ago! His talent was amazing even in college.

The lead in this song (Peter?) is the second best male voice to ever grace the sing-off stage after Scott from Pentatonix. I just love Peter.

Mr. Mister is the same group that sang, "Broken Wings"... those are probably the 2 songs that were hits for them... But I love Kyrie....
God I love the bass line going on in this performance, it starts about 1:28 and just rocks to almost the end of the performance. I just can't seem to see the guy or guys doing it.
I am still a super big Committed fan but these guys did good on this one.

The songs title literally means "Lord have mercy" in Greek. They did this song justice.
@TheRandomMusing Peter originally sang Kyrie on the album Full Coverage back in 2005, before Jonah even joined the group. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be a lot of videos from back then. :(
3:56. He may sound cheesy but that's when music is done right. It's like the Carl Sagan quote about imagination: "Imagination takes us to places that don't exist. But without it, we wouldn't go anywhere". Beautiful music does the same thing.

It is a shame... any other season these guys could probably win easily. Just bad luck they had to compete with Committed who were just unreal on harmony. And I was a fan of them before they were ever on this show. Wonder if they could come back for another try...

I guess "cheezy" means Christian subject matter to these judges.......unfortunately for them, they got goosebumps on the performance and so did everyone else. They had to show to like it.
