Anathema's "We're Here Because We're Here" CD is probably one of the most spiritual and riveting pieces of music I have ever heard. So sad that not many will hear its brilliance and acknowledge Anathema's passion. They have grown so much. Powerful. It is a total listening experience and beautiful. Sad, Sad state of music.
THE SPIRIT OF THE SONG IS completely honored, performed with soul and blood and they never tried to outshine PINK FLOYD,but to "ride" the feelings inside the song and embrace the pain... great cover in my opinion.. thanks for sharing it, man ...
This Band is so graet i cant find the right words, to Cover pink Floyd ..gaet i never Heard so a fantastic Cover, Anathema thank you all for your g graet Music 😎✌️
The solo at the end it's absolutely fantastic, it really adds another dimension to this song, it makes it more powerful and meaningful . I might be the only one, but I clearly prefer this solo over the original. It seems to have more depth
People bitching about the final solo not being as technically good as the original. Yes, that's true, but I feel like Danny's interpretation more accurately reflects the insular feeling of addiction. It's unsettling, and this solo reflects that. This entire cover is a mood piece, and that final solo fits in perfectly with that. The whole thing is far darker than the original, and I can't help but respect that.
Hmm, what I really think about covers.. I like the covers which was made because the band likes the original song. And this cover looks like it. The song actually fits them, maybe not musically but emotionally. I don't think Anathema covered it because they think they play better, but because they feel the song. And as long as they feel, they are perfect.
Anathema, starting out as doom/goth, ever so slowly but surely evolved into a sound that is pretty much Pink Floyd without the LSD. As such they're one of the few, if not even only, bands on the world who can take a Pink Floyd song and neither copy it verbatim as a tribute, or change it beyond musical recognition to cover it, but just... play it: The way they're playing it could very well be an Anathema song on a random newer Anathema album, and yet you have to pay attention to hear how it's different from the original, how the only difference is the roadie failing to dunk the strings into LSD before the show.
They've also played Shine on, in their concerts. It's just a tribute to a great band. From another great band. As long as the message is sent with passion, why do we need to be "specialist"? Listen, feel, keep searching!
Gilmour's signature strat sound covered with a Les Paul leaves a little to be desired but Anathema totally killed it! Love this band and this song choice for them.
Fucking hell. I didn't think it was possible to adore this band even more, but there they go and turn my brain on its head again. This is second only to the original song itself. Absolutely mind-blowing!
Just saw the chaps in Toronto... Not quite like this, but wow, absolutely stellar performance nonetheless! You all beautiful people, keep the real music alive!!!
I'm know that you're going to give a lot of negative votes when I'll say that this is better than the original plus you have to listen for your possible pasts and better of dead performed by anathema I'm sure you're gonna love em
i love anathema and i love pink floyd even more, and vince's voice still gave me goosebumps. no one's as good as gilmour with this song, but they did a great job anyway! :)
I think this is a great version - the goal isn't to 'reproduce' the original, but to respect it and give it your band's unique signature. I thought his solo was fine - it's not like anyone thinks they are going to make a 'better' solo than the original masterpiece, so nothing wrong with playing your own take on it.
wooooow I got to say man, being a huge Floyd fan, Igrew up listening to them, I like this version so fucking much, I'm also an anathema fan, wooooow this is so beautiful, you don't have to decide wich one is better, floyd's or this, just enjoy this, and enjoy Pink Floyd as well...
dudes, this cover is great. it doesn't mean you have to play the song exactly like the band who sang it for the first time or like the band which owns the song. it means to play it your own way, to express feelings i a little different way. so, shut up and feel music, don't just listen ;)
I see no problem with the solo. Anathema played their loud, dark and deep music as usual, and they got no reason to imitate the solo of Pink Floyd however brilliant it is.
when i was talking to the band about this show they said they hated playing that gig they said it just felt like a shit night for some reason and things kept going wrong but i said it was an amazing show they put on but what can you do eh! they played this cover at one of the many times iv been to see them and when they played it in Glasgow i was a month away from going seeing roger waters in Amsterdam and it set me up perfectly anathema are the best band to come out of the uk in years
yes, it feels a bit dirty to me as well, i suppose it's not the most easiest thing to do - to cover Pink Floy :) but the ending solo and stuff is damn insane in my opinion, you can just feel Danny drowning in it! Fucking powerful.
i respect Anathema's take on my favourite song of all time with the warmest feeling. Of course they did not hope to out-do one of the greatest musical prodigies in music history, but Anathema (and Antimatter for that matter) have created entire soundscapes of their own and changed the scene for those who care to look beyond mainstream. What is the big problem for a great band to show respect for their predecessors in a legendary fashion?
Omfg... This is the best guitar cover I've heard. Certainly not better than Gilmour. I'm THE pickiest so if I'm saying this is the best cover of the guitar solo; I'm not lying. I usually dislike almost everyone who attempts it but this is GREAT! :D
I love the song so much.......And I'm so glad that *Anathema* play it too...They are my last addiction!I'm musical *explorer* from few years..It's joke...Just love the music so much...And right now I feel *Anathema* so close to me.....
They sound a little nervous and tense, but the performance is definitely emotional, which I believe is what Anathema is all about. As for Danny's behaviour, I heard that the amp was malfunctioning.

PINK FLOYD AND ANATHEMA ! MY FAVOURITE BANDS !
Woooww!! any band that can cover comfortably numb like that deserves my respect. Just WOW!!
This Band is so graet i cant find the right words, to Cover pink Floyd ..gaet i never Heard so a fantastic Cover, Anathema thank you all for your g graet Music 😎✌️

😂
You're so crazy, girl
awesome!
the best cover of comfortably numb i've ever heard. You can feel the passion the lead guitarrist while he's playing the solo (both of them)
it`s a totally anathema song. the sound and the style. they`ll never tried to be equal to PF. they`re the best Rock band ever... after Pink Floyd :)
Only Anathema can make a live cover of "Comfortably Numb" with dignity... ¡BRAVO!
Just wow, this is the best cover I've ever heard.. love Anathema.

Senti falta do solo final, mas ficou um belo cover, sem ser "plastificado " como outros
TBH, one of the best covers of Comfortably Numb I ever heard, it has a lot of feeling. And great guitar solos, the two of them.
2019 - 40th year anniversary of The Wall.. Wow!
Nobody will EVER come up with a guitar solo like this, EVER!!... It's unbelievably epic!!
Dude Pink Floyd is awesome, making Anathema the only band that doesn't suck at covering Pink Floyd songs
They've also played Shine on, in their concerts. It's just a tribute to a great band. From another great band. As long as the message is sent with passion, why do we need to be "specialist"? Listen, feel, keep searching!
Cheers!!!!!I heard this cover into a live performance, it was in 2007 - Artmania Festival, Sibiu, Romania......Every now and then, I remain speechless
Danny plays well.... voiced i tell and guitar too
one of the best covers of CN ever

no one beat pink Floyd ever but i love the way anathema play it really
3:20 anathema: we’d like to remind u that we r a metal band.
Just saw the chaps in Toronto... Not quite like this, but wow, absolutely stellar performance nonetheless! You all beautiful people, keep the real music alive!!!
Love the scream at 3:20, this is so good!
the best cover of the best song!!
the best cover ever made.
I'm know that you're going to give a lot of negative votes when I'll say that this is better than the original plus you have to listen for your possible pasts and better of dead performed by anathema I'm sure you're gonna love em
Incredible distortion and solo.
This song deserves only the best performance!!!
Best of the best cover of Pink Floyd!
i love anathema and i love pink floyd even more, and vince's voice still gave me goosebumps. no one's as good as gilmour with this song, but they did a great job anyway! :)
I just love them!
the song touches the guitarist's heart

Anathema plays Pink Floyd = Priceless!

The Jadis cover of comfortably numb is the best I heard on youtube !!!
I love the song so much.......And I'm so glad that *Anathema* play it too...They are my last addiction!I'm musical *explorer* from few years..It's joke...Just love the music so much...And right now I feel *Anathema* so close to me.....
Have to watch this from time to time to remind myself how to feel that "knot" in the throat whilst the eyes get wet...
They hailed Pink Floyd and this is what matters. It was a perfect idea. They did not "desecrate" the original track.
Amazing ,,,
The solo is fucking amazing
a great cover, worthy of some giants as PinkFloyd
Esse solo é um orgasmo!
Nobody can sings better than him... you just said it!
brilliant.
In my opinion this is as good if not better than Dream Theater's good cover of this, I am digging that scream.
Do keep in mind that there were a LOT of technical problems, and that the amp was barely working (that's why he smashed it)
Pink Floyd by Anathema .... great....
that ginger guy sounds just like roger waters!!! this is a great cover
They sound a little nervous and tense, but the performance is definitely emotional, which I believe is what Anathema is all about. As for Danny's behaviour, I heard that the amp was malfunctioning.
Wow.. pretty awesome..
i actually like this one better than the original
its indeed a very different cover, but it has a big deal of anathema's feel to it, i like it a lot.
