This was written by Clarence and Syreeta Wright. Stevie Wonder's 1st wife. I sang it in college for class work and some of the students cried. It's a beautiful song. I Love the Stairsteps..
just to know so many people felt the same way about their music i have followed them for a very long time not to date myself but the very beginning of their career even the brother disco phase and when they converted to Islam and made the 2nd Resurrection they were singing about what a lot of us was feeling and dealing with . I had not been touch like that since Marvin Gayes whats going On
This song is timeless...as is the group. This album is a masterpiece. The acumen of the Stairsteps' musicality transcends time...love their harmony, just an awesome, awesome group!
If ever there was an album that totally "Flowed" this is it. So happy that I still have the original and estatic to have found it on UA-cam so that I can share it with others, some for the very first time. "Time" is my favorite cut. It transcends throughout my life and I recently turned 60. Thank you to whomever uploaded this song. Peace & Blessings.
The Stairsteps were introduced to George Harrison by Billy Preston. Preston had played with the Beatles but was very successful on his own in the US and made near weekly appearances on the prime time live rock 'n' roll show Shindig. Harrison, through his Dark Horse Records, arranged for the recording of 2nd Resurrection, which was distributed in the US by A&M. Who owns the master now is publicly a bizarre mystery, given that it's as outstanding as any of the greatest soul albums of its time.
I loved the 5 stairsteps, their original name, since I was a young teenager. I am in my 50's now. I am glad I found a way to listen to some of my favorites from the album/cd "The Beginning." This group has a great collection of music, other than OOH Child. Some favorites are: You waited too long, Come back, Danger she's a stranger.
Wow, I got to see this group perform 3 times, twice at The Apollo Theater, during the 60's, still remember, one performance they wore blue suits, on another blue suits, and class acts their heart away. Another and last show in 1970n at the Cheetah, again in NYC. during this show they performed songs by Jimi Hendrix " purple Haze, and 2 songs by The Beatles, "Bright Lights", & "Dear Prudence". They were wearing headbands, leather, suede vest with long Fringes, one member wore a black suit, Papa Steps was there too with his big afro playing congas . Cubie at the Apollo. "Don't Change your Love". .
I stumbled across this song only 2 weeks ago and I have fallen in love with it so much. I loved it when I first heard it and could not understand why it was never on the radio. This is a masterpiece!!. I am going to purchase it on Amazon after this comment. I can’t wait to hear the entire CD!!
This is a great song...one of my favorites and DEFINITELY hard to find! Had the album but it got lost. Does anyone have "Lifting" off of this album??? also a great and inspirational song.

"One life just is not enough, to do the things to find myself, and keep my mind in touch"
These words describe my life, so accurately.
