If you don't understand the act, then one can only conclude you are lacking in empathy and maybe moral ethics. I suppose it's all down to how you've been brought up and Whether you've the ability to show some respect for another human being.
      P.S
Or you are just being a Troll, in which case, you lack everything!

alex wintermeyer ... Ask anyone who has ever felt better, even for a moment, because of a word or gesture from another (i.e., 'helping')
Sadly, this is news because this kind of thing, while quite common in the past, has become incredibly rare. And also because it might teach just one person how signs of respect can be uplifting.

      Thank you Colonel Usrey!!
The respect, dignity & gratitude & plain old decency of bygone generations. This respect was strongest on our WWII veterans generations. Look at the numbers of those veterans who continue to pay their respects at War Memorials to the day they die. And come back to have their ashes scattered with their brothers in uniforms. Evidence is at the Pearl Harbor memorial. Each year the numbers of remaining veterans goes down. But the families still return in respect to the fallen. It is the greatest generation of Americans to date. We the children of these WWI, & WW11 veterans, baby boomers and all were taught the respect and traditions. The traditions seem to have faded as the 1990's moved forward. Lots of the younger generations born after the late 1980's to 1990's have lost the values, respect that were ingrained into the spirit & souls of Americans! Proud Americans.... Save the heart & soul of our America!! 🙏🙏✌✌👏👏

That was as a mark of respect for a member of the society that I was sworn in to protect. My society, my public, home town. If only people would spend 10 minutes a day to help a Vet, an elderly person or give a kid some wisdom, the US might be a bit different. The best Xmas I ever had was helping a family, with a disabled child, change a flat tire in an ice storm. It doesn't take a lot to mean the world to someone, and the recent "deal" with the NFL is a joke. The only reason those GED idiots can make millions playing a high school game, "protesting" and kneeling is due to a man like the guy in this clip.

I absolutely love him, he didn't know the family, the friends, the Deciesed person, and he still had the respect and love to get out and show support and respect, what an amazing human being, if only everyone could show love like this and not hate💯💪❤

This man's simple act of kindness and empathy demonstrates the truest most genuine strength of our society. Let us take his example as an aspiration for how to conduct our own lives.

I'm a long retired Major of the Australian Army. Many years ago I was driving my old steel boat through Fremantle Harbour in Western Australia. I was about 50M away from a large US Navy ship tied up. There was a sailor doing some work on an upper railing near the stern where a large US flag was flying. As I went by, even at that distance our eyes locked. I spontaneously saluted the vessel and the flag. (I had previously been attached to the US 82nd and 101st Airborne in the Mid East as a Liaison Officer for the Multi-National Force and Observers.) The sailor then stood to attention and returned my salute. I'll never forget that moment. Australians and Americans...brothers in arms over so many years, through so many conflicts and peacekeeping missions: WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Sinai in Egypt....Cheers.
