I love Salt n Pepa INCLUDING Spinderella!! The DJ is very important in every group so Spin should be a part of everything. I seen them last summer on the 90s tour and Spin carried the show. She kept it hyped and the crowd going. Salt was out of breath and just stood there and Pep did her thang. Also they had guys dancing on them for most of show but we the fans came for the lyrics, music and a good show. If they get a diff dj now they for sure won't he able to keep up Spin knows their flow. Period!
I find it very interesting that you say Salt was out of breath and Spin carried the show. Salt has to dance, rhyme, engage with the audience and the dancers. Spinderella stands behind turntables, stationary with a microphone telling people to make some noise and throw your hands in the air. Doing all that choreography and vocals under hot stage lights in your mid to late 50's, you'd be tired too!!!

I grew up to their music, I was HERE when Spin dj for radio, saw them in concert as a teen and walked through the journey of womanhood right with them. A DIE HARD FAN OF ALL 3 can't have a group without Spin and I won't GO to any show she's not apart of, square biz!!!

1993 was their last hit album. They got all their fame, fortune and success with De De. She was a equal 3rd of the pie.

This is not their first time doing her like this. They left her out of a 11 million dollar signing bonus in the 90s. I wish her ( Spin) much success. I'm really not here for them after this stunt. It's completely about not wanting to share the money with her. She's actually my favorite member of the group. I use to live for her to rap on a song.

antoinec822 a They were! Spinderella was their Jam Master Jay. That’s why I don’t agree when they say Spinderella was not a part of the group, but act like she was hired help. Firing spin would be like firing JMJ. They both were integral parts of the group. Spin was just as popular as those two, maybe more since everyone thought Spin was the prettiest.

DJ Spin was a name that was not exclusive to Deidra, on the first album there was another DJ, LaToya who was the original “Spinderella”. LaToya was fired because of her missed appearances and rehearsals, so that’s when Herb found Deidra, she became the new Spinderella. Jam Master Jay was with Run DMC since the beginning so he deserved being seen as the their member
One could argue that Run and DMC were technically a group before they brought Jay on. I remember an interview where Run explains that someone else couldn't do it so Run went to a street DJ they knew named Jay and all he said was "alright Run, I got you." Sure, this was early in their history, but Run DMC was together before Jay. The only difference is that they hadn't put out a record yet before bringing Jay in.

The passive aggressive energy towards Spinderella was f’d up. You can tell they never saw her as an equal, even though she was most of our favorite. They’re too damn old to be this petty towards an integral member of the group and icon in her own right.
Who for at least 25 years was unhappy because the people who hired her did not make her a legal third of the group. What the hell kinda arrogance is that. They were always a legal duo before they hired her. She got fired because she refused to show up for at least two shows in order to protest them not making her a third member after decades as their employee. If your employer tells you for decades they are not looking for a third member, what is your problem? How spoiled is she?

Salt has said it wasn't that they didn't like Push It. It was more that they didn't understand the type of song Push It was. If you listen to I'll Take Your Man, that song was much harder and street savy. Then you look at Push It and it was more radio friendly.
