I talked with Dylan Thorpe at Oshkosh a few years ago for quite a while. Such nice guy, he really reinvigorated my passion for becoming a fighter pilot.
Awesome man! Thanks for the kind words…Go get it!
Love your podcast. It’s been a long deployment out here in the desert. Currently a maintainer on A-10s myself and love to hear the appreciation for maintainers from pilots.
Thanks for what you do, keep em’ flying 🤘🏻🇺🇸
Enjoyed this podcast with "Habu" - He speaks intelligence (just as you do). Thanks, Rain! Signed, DMAFB Mom
I appreciate you talking about the maintenance crew personal. It seemed to be a thankless job a lot of times, but the few times getting an “ata boy” from the pilots, was a great morale booster. The part where your avionics tech hanging upside down fixing your throttle is a great example. We would always joke, that we would love to meet the engineers who designed certain things, so we could get them drunk (in case they were big) so we could knock the crap out of them for such a stupid design. 😂 the tomcats had no shortage of terrible designs!
Maintenance makes the world go round 🤘🏻. The throttle design tho…
Looking forward to this .
He was the Hog demo pilot a few years back.
My son is in Cyber Communications and while deployed at air base at an undisclosed location in SW Asia he was able to support and outfit the aircraft with comms that was needed to operate in the AOR.
The two dream aircraft to fly: the hardy true A-10 Thunderbolt Warthog and the background classic P-51Mustang!
Great interview!
Great edit..
Super interesting interview. I was wondering , do A10 pilots use rudder when banking the aircraft as its a straight wing?
We do use the rudder quite a bit, but there is a Stability Augmentation System that automatically blends some rudder into the turn to maintain coordinated flight. -HABU
