I've found! :D Tap "plus" like in video -> tap "shape" on the left menu -> tap "edit" on the top -> tap "import" -> tap "source library" -> choose option :) Grain is the same. Enjoy!
Its interesting how much Procreate changed since that but it still works the same. Tysm for the tutorial. It really helped me a lot. Just as idea, if you didn't did it so far, maybe remake it with also the new Features. Hope you're doing good!
@JaneSneddenPeever, Have recently started working on Procreate and love it. This Blender Brush tutorial is by far and away the best I've come across. Thank you. Hope you do some more I'm sure your subscribers would love them. Keep Safe, keep well. (from London)
Perfect. Just one question. Is there any way to blend on an empty layer. For example, in PS I would have a drawing layer, and create a new layer above for blending the base layer below. In PS the top layer could be blank, but still affect the layer below with just the smudge tool for example. It seems as if I’m not able to do this in PC
Thank you. So far it seems they do not have this option for blending or smudging. I have noticed that the new liquify tool does allow you to select multiple layers and work at once. Perhaps this means this option will be coming down the line for all tools. For now you will have to merge the layers you want before blending. I hear there are big things coming in Procreate, so this might be something they are working on. Thanks again for watching the video. :)
Thank you very much. You can find all my brushes including the set mentioned above on my website in Products section www.jspcreate.com/products/ Enjoy, Jane
Just tried to recreate this blender brush (I am an iPad Pro newbie). I think I did quite well with the exception that a lot of black still shows up when trying to blend. Did I miss a step? Thank you for sharing!
Sheila Lewis-Lorum so glad you are enjoying this. Under the Dynamics in brush settings you want Dilution to be set to max. Anything less will give you the colour the brush is set to. Check out 3min 20 sec mark of video. With Dilution set to max you will see nothing in the example box at the top, this may have thrown you off in my video I leave it on until the end so you can see the example brush. Hope this helps.
I enjoyed your video. Big thumbs up! I noticed at the very beginning (0.18 seconds) that you have created several new categories for your brushes; Brush A Day, Blenders, lettering, etc. How do you make a new brush category? Thank you for your great work. I enjoy all your videos. Paul
Thanks Paul. When you open the Brush menu by touching the brush icon where your brushes are, at the top left it has "New Set" option. This will let you create a new folder to put your brushes in. It will pop up as "untitled set" and give the option to type in a new name. then you just drag your brushes into it or open that set and create new brushes from inside it by tapping the "+" sign on the upper right corner. You can also rename or delete a brush folder by tapping the name of it. Hope that helps!
I love Procreate! I am tempted to get your brushes at some point myself, but happen to be moving to a new city so now is not a good time or me. Only I was wondering, could you create your own brush to automatically do gray scaling in the background?
@@jspcreate Thanks for explaining that & a lot has changed since I made that post. I’ve added several new brushes & stamps to my procreate. I do wonder if you could also create a brush that could look like a sharpie marker or not? I rather miss using those.
What fun! Thank you Jane, this is really cool. I've seen some beautiful art that people created in Photoshop with blender brushes, but I don't use Photoshop and didn't really know what they were until now. It's great to know that we can create our own in Procreate. I've followed along with this tutorial and just made 4 brushes with different sources and played around with some of the other settings. I have a question about the brush you created in this tutorial though, because it looks like your brush size (at max) is bigger than mine, and the fluidity seems greater too. I used the same settings as you did. I have an iPad Pro 10.5. I'm not sure if you have the 10.5 or 12.9 but it seems from the video like your maximum size is quite a bit larger than mine. What in the settings would affect the size of the brush? I've played with a couple of the size settings, but still couldn't get it as large as yours.
Thanks Donna. The settings can be tricky because one small adjustment in one place can create a big difference somewhere else. If you have the size up to max, the next thing to try is the spacing setting. A very slight adjustment in the spacing can change the size of your brush. The fluidity mostly comes from the streamline. The dynamics and Pencil settings can also play into this. I will be offering a more indepth course on brush creation in the near future on my site. Have fun, hope these tips help.
Hi Donna, so glad you are enjoying the tutorial. I have the 12.9 ipad pro. I actually found something interesting when I was playing with brush size because some were coming out bigger than others. If you go into "stroke" and "spacing" in the brush settings and then up the spacing of your brush by just a small percentage, like 5%, you will see the size increase in the preview window. you may have to change the dilution in dynamics to see the brush while you resize, as the blender brushes won't show up when the dilution is maxed out. Weird phenomenon, but this little bit of spacing ups the brush size. after about 5% it seems to get a little smaller again. Play with it and see if that works for you. Let me know how it goes.
When I go to add a new brush it doesn’t look the same as your screen. It opens up to a full sized version of the brush editor and doesn’t allow me to see the same settings as you. Help :(
I am so confused, your procreate looks different from mine. Has there been a new version that doesn’t have the different modes under the dynamics? I can only change speed and jitter there. I am completely lost, can someone help me to get my colors to blend?😩
Yes, this is an older version of Procreate, when they updated to Procreate 5 they made alot of changes. There are more controls than there were before for the brushes and the modes have been separated out into their own catagories. Now Wet Mix has it's own catagory and that is where the bulk of the controls for the blenders now sit. All the controls are still in there, just moved around, for now it takes a little hunting to find them. Hope that helps a little
Sorry it isn't working for you Rebecka, the brush interface looks a little different now. You have to use the wetmix feature and make sure your dilution is up high if not on full, keep your stroke spacing very low. Give it another try going through step by step and see if it works for you this time.
yes, this was an older version of Procreate, they have changed up the interface for the brushes. When you choose Shape now you want to choose the edit button above the shape image, then over to the top right choose import and it will give you choices. The source library is there now.
The big problem with Procreate you cannot blend two colors to get another color all you can do is just move the colors around or smear or smudge the colors. Now ArtRage does a real good job of blending two colors to get another color.
Hi Robert, you can check out this video on how to download the brushes ua-cam.com/video/-0Ul6YHXQYw/v-deo.html Or you can email me through my site and I can try and walk you through it that way.
Not sure exactly what might be going on here, but two things to check, The shape it pulls in will be the shape you choose for the brush. The blending properties rely on the settings in the Wet Mix section of the brush settings. The Procreate app has changed it's interface since this tutorial, but everything is still there, just in a different place. Let me know if you have any luck with it.
@@elliotisevaporated3454 Yes, although it is a previous version of Procreate, the general concepts still work, but the layout is different so I'm not sure at what point in the process it is jamming up for you. Maybe you can send me an example of how your finished brush looks like for you through email? you can reach me through my website or at info@jspcreate.com
Thank you for not just trying to sale your brushes and telling us a bit on how you did it!
So glad you enjoyed the tutorial.

The best explanation about blendering with Procreate... thanks a lot.
Is there any possibility you might show us how to paint faces and complexions ?
Thanks Nermeen, I haven't done alot of that yet on the ipad. I will consider it though!
this is super helpful thank you :). i normally use corel painter and this helps me get similar effects to how i paint on the computer
So glad this helps, thanks for your kind words!
