Rissotoro finally remembered he has a UA-cam channel
rissotoro can you take us to a greek restaurant yirotoro
Yeah i was wondering where he'd went to.
He finally remembered the password
I'm Davide from the video! Hope you enjoyed my review! Feel free to correct me and tell me what you think! Thank you very much to Ryotaro for inviting me! Next time we should try "Japanese" restaurants in Rome!
I enjoyed your review -- some OK dishes for a cheap price. But what about the coffee??
@@AlinJapanWe actually had footage of the espresso but it didn't make It in the final cut. The espresso Is a no for me, but since you can refill it, I drink It anyway 😂
Grande dave , peroro l'esterna e cameo..sta banda non se scioglie 😂❤🎩🙌🏻🫡

@@vivigiappone Quantity over quality for this espresso? I can understand when you just need caffeine :D
Saizeriya might not have the BEST food, but as a broke uni student, their prices are unbeatable!
i am not a rich person, but food sold at prices that low is so sus to me. there has to be something wrong with that.
@@dasaggropop1244Food is generally cheap in Japan, even really good places often are
@@dasaggropop1244 There's nothing wrong with it. The portions are generally small, their workflow is somewhat automated and their food is mainly prepared in central kitchens and distributed frozen to branch stores. Also they water down their drinks to a degree.
They rely on volume of sales rather than getting large profit margins on individual dishes.
Cook it yourself.. you can match the prices with ease if flavor and nutrition isn’t a concern and from my experience of Saizeria that was definitely a priority
I don't mind their food at all. I love the prices tho. Happy with a penne arabiatta, pizza. I'm not broke by any stretch either. Just like a deal
Omg he finally remember his password!
😂😂😂
"The mozzarella probably comes frozen".
As someone who went there 2 weeks ago, and it was still frozen in the middle of the mozzarella, I can attest to that statement.
🤮
😂
I will fight anyone who tells me Saizeriya Is bad. I freaking love saizeriya and eat at least once every year I visit Japan!
I gave It a 7, I like It
It's good for its price
Saizeriya is good bro
for the price u cant get it anywhere else..
Mamma mia~!
The prices are great though.
We gained a couple of kgs that day! 😂
Minus the weight of one italian passport.

My rule of thumb, if dishes are $2.00-$7.00... And open late? You cannot complain 😂
Unless you're Chris Broad
Hey babe, wake up, Ryōtarō finally found the password for his UA-cam channel
Teenage kids in the background. Yup. Definitely a saizeriya stable.
Apparently it's because of the cheap drinks so they just hang out there.
It's the endless free drinks refill allure for Singapore's Saiseriya gen z scene 🥤🥤
Believe me, when you live in Beijing and you can't stand the greasy horrible food there, the local Saizeriya is paradise. I will never knock Saizeriya's food. It kept me going.
We actually praise Saizeriya in the video ;)
@@vivigiappone Yes, I know you do. I actually enjoyed eating the pizza. ;-)
So glad saizeriya got a balanced review in this video (that for the most part I agree with) and didnt just go with the flow with that deep fried stodge loving C.Abroad's unwarranted PANNING of the place !! 😁👍 ... Overall 7/10... Sounds about right!
A decade ago my j-girlfriend and i loved saizeriya for its cheap and tasty eats and even cheaper tasty wine. Fast forward 10yrs and now my j-wife, j-kids and i love it perhaps even more... Cheap, kid friendly, reliable, consistent and accessible from pretty much every major city's main train stations make it a real winner (for our less discerning/precious palates obviously!!) 😁👍👍
Thanks for the great video and g'day from Oz! 😁👍🇦🇺🇯🇵
I too go often to Saizeriya with my 2yo daughter!
I feel like America has suuuch a different expectation. I LOVE Saizeriya and will go there as often as I can!
I've never eaten there, but I guess the biggest issue is that they brand themselves as an Italian restaurant. Their food might not be too bad, but it's absolutely not Italian.
@@blarfroer8066 oh phooey it is italian food lol
for the "worst Italian Restaurant" in Japan, this place is pretty packed
Food prices in Japan are so reasonable, and it's on a god damn small Island.
In Canada that $5 CAD Vongole would be like $25 CAD, at least...PLUS TIP since we have tipping culture here unlike Japan. lol
Keep voting Liberal.
It helps that the yen is worth .02 USD or something like that.😂 So too somebody in Japan the prices would still be cheap, but not as cheap as it is for foreigners.
I find that it has the taste of decent cafeteria,so I don't understand the hate,I think it's way better than Olive Garden Daje Davide😁
Grazie! Acutually I feel the same !
😆 At least Saizeriya is better than Chef Boyardee. Ryotaro, is your Italian friend your frenemy?
Ain't gonna lie I love Saezeriya, my go to food when I'm low on money in Tokyo
I got money but I still love it and go there every time
"Translator's Note: The Editor doesn't understand Italian" was a nice touch LOL。Sadly, even if you're not considering authenticity, that pizza totally looked like a 3/10 indeed. I was very surprised to see something get an 8/10 score though, and it was awesome to see that truffle ice cream actually bring back memories for Davide!
It was nice meeting you at the Sake Festival! I’m always enjoying your videos, I hope to see more interesting content about food and travel as always 😊
Mock Saizeriya all you want, but this place brought great joy to broke students and workers alike.
Please Watch the video, we praise Saizeriya most of the time ;(
I'm also Italian, and actually i went to a couple of Italian restaurants and pizzerias in Japan and they were amazing.
It may not be the best, but it's sooooo cheap almost $2 for a very decent chicken salad. Ate here multiple times during my stay.
You Will find that I really like Saizeriya in the video ;)
Saizeriya is the best! And, they're everywhere!
We must forgive his old age and not remembering his UA-cam
Really good, really fun video. ❤ Saizeriya? It is what it is! It's fine... In the UK we would say it's Cheap and Cheerful 😊
I've eaten so much Doria while over there. it's definitely like an 8 especially for how filling the portion is. I remember being in nagano and at the end of the day nothing beat a Doria after trudging through like 2 ft of snow.
Is there a link to Davide’s channel (assuming he has one)?
You can find me here!
Should be www.youtube.com/@vivigiappone
Chris abroad opinion about food should not listen anywhere because he hate japanese breakfast too :D
He also likes famichiki
He's a British beans-on-toast guy, not a reliable judge.
AND NOW THE DAY..... [.Of Content Has Begin.] 🔰
when I saw the carbonara, I knew it was a lost cause. Japanese people love putting cream in pasta. Italians HATE that.
finally rj uploading. breakfast going to be enjoyable for me
Some smart choices here: don't order a glass of red wine like Chris Broad did, instead buy a bottle of white as you'll get better quality for the price. Also, IMO cheap reds fair worse once opened and left to sit around while people buy them by the glass. But Davide, what about the coffee and espresso to go with the desert?
We actually had footage of the espresso but it didn't make It in the final cut. The espresso Is a no for me, but since you can refill it, I drink It anyway 😂
All that for less than 40€ is a steal!
3 dollars for buffalo mozzarella is insanely cheap. Also I lived in Japan from 2004 to 2011, I don't think the price for anything at Saizeriya has changed, lol.
Hey! I’m all about a Ryotaro video.
I’m glad I ate before listening to them discuss the desserts!
I would have normally said it reminds me of wafflehouse here in the USA, but theyve upped their prices the past few years. Its a shame. :(
So this is the worst Italian restaurant in Japan?
It means the others are better, more then obviously. Way to go, Japan!
I knew you wouldn't disappoint!
I'm Italian by the way, and I too have lots of memories connected with tartufo dessert.
It was big in the 80's and 90's, it's a packaged dessert you'd find in every mid level restaurant, I'm not sure they're around anymore.
I've been to Japan a few times, and have always wondered how they can get pizza so very wrong.
I visited a not so cheap Italian restaurant, and got served a tiny thing that was less tasty and lower quality than the frozen €2 pizza from the lidl.
It can't be that hard to make a decent pizza. But I think most Japanese don't know what a real Italian pizza looks like, let alone tastes like.
Maybe they are more used to seeing those american things on tv, and if it's different to bread with topping, it must be Italian, right? 🙄
Let's just say they I avoid any type of pizza whilst in Japan..... They have plenty of other things to choose from. If I want Italian food, I'll go to a restaurant around here (which I'm sure is not 100% authentic, but at least it's closer)
It's 3 am here
(Gestures in Italian)
Can't lie...the eloquently emotive gesturings, Italian or just plain what travesty is this?!, by Vivi Giappone was the best part of this video 🙆♂🤷♂🤦♂🙅♂
Thank you, Ryotaro! I've been telling my friends for a long time, as much as I love the prefecture of Saitama, that Saizeria is just not good. I'd rather go to the non-chain Italians in Urawa, if I were starving for some.pizza in Japan, but it's one of the things that I find are always much worse than in Germany to begin with
I don't know if Saizeriya offends Italian people, but it for sure did for me, as a Spaniard! What do you mean Jamón Serrano? That looks a lot more like a piece of York ham or even slices of turkey breast (which I know it's not, but it has the colour). Even the bad Jamón Serrano has an intense red colour with white stripes that indicate the fat content of the pig leg. I know I'm not supposed to expect good quality for that cheap price and in the other part of the globe, but I just find it funny and charming how they sell that advertised as Jamón Serrano
I hope some day you can try real jamón, because it is truly a god's blessing. Great video, thanks to both of you!
This could be a good back up for us. We are going to japan in October and my hubby is not a fan of rice or sushi or seafood 😂 I love Japanese food but I don't want him to starve ❤ Good video guys 🥰
I was curious how far into the video will the first dig on Chris arrive. You didn't disappoint, it's under the one minute mark 🤣🤣🤣
Saizeriya's meals are low price, but it does not mean quality is bad. To offer meals low by price they are making so much effort. I think quality of Saizeriya is sooooo good, if you think about such a low price.
I saw the movie of Japanese Italian sheaf who used to work in Italian restaurant in Italy took his ex-coworker Italian sheaf in Italy to Saizeriya when he visited Japan, the Italian sheaf's evaluation for Saizeriya was really good.
I love saizeriya! The quality is amazing for the price and anyone who doesn’t agree doesn’t understand the concept of market segment.
if people don't like it - that's fine with me - shorter queue for service - I've eaten in many Saizeriya - their menu number 1 crispy chicken wings can vary but is great when it's good - I get a plate of cheesy spaghetti, a bowl of peas, maybe garlic prawns, a beer, and all's right with the world - 7:28 grilled lamb on a stick I've not seen - I'll look for that next time !
I've only tried grappa once when I was at university. I don't remember much of that night...
We eat snails also in center italy (Lazio, Umbria, Toscana and Marche), but it's not a food for people growing up in the cities, they probably don't even know that there are people in the countryside eating them.
They come out after raining and you take them yourself with a lot of other people searching, afterwards you make a party and cook them in tomato sauce in very very big pots, I don't think you can buy them, so it has to be a communal thing.
When I was a kid 20 years ago we were eating them a lot because my neighbours were helping us finding them, they became too old so we could't help each other and stopped eating them.
When I saw the title, the first thing I thought was, "Did Risotto take his friend to Saizeriya? If so, which one is the worse?" I would only go to Saizeriya if it is the only place open and I didn't have an umbrella in a pouring rain storm.
If among the cheap Italian food saizeriya goes first then Shakey's second
Look, Japan is an amazing country. You probably have the highest chance to walk into a random restaurant and have a great meal in Japan than any other country. That said, Saizeriya is utter crap.
Heard Saizeriya is the GOAT from Hachiman in the Oregairu series 😅
I'm a simple man. I see a Ryotaro video, I watch, like and comment.
We have one local to us, and it’s a very reasonable place to eat. Extremely popular with local people. :-)
Saizeriya isn't even that bad, just forget that it's supposed to be Italian
You 2 guys together are very funny, great clip, hugs from Italy
In order to recreate a true Italian experience, they need to train the staff to give you a withering look and swear under their breath if you order a cappuccino after 11am!
Escargot is most certainly not Italian, however, there are a couple of snail dishes that originate from Sardinia, so, yes, there are indeed snails on the menu in at least one region of Italy.
So was his risotto bad?
Hail and salutations from Belfast Northern Ireland 🇬🇧
Ryotaro has eaten so much bashimi he's starting to look like a horse.
Naw man. You’re just out of touch with the common man. This please has saved me multiple times in my broke days lol
Man, I am acutually complimenting Saizeriya most of the time, i Like It, I gave It also a good Total score.
did you watch the video lol
I thought sariya is just italian themed, not italian. I like sariya still despite the price surge but i never considered it italian
I love this place. 10 out of 10 for taste and value. Its not authentic italian but im fine with that
i dont think what makes people mad is that you eat pasta with ketchup, its when you call it what its not (same with carbonara etc)
I love that ryotaros channel is almostly solely to take the piss out of chris xD
Good job Davide
Grazie!
Chef, you left shells in my pasta.
I actually like Saizaria. Very cheap. Their eggs in purgatory are pretty good
Oh right they used to have It!
I find this channel so relaxing to watch :D
I spent 1 month in Tokyo and I ate there at least 7-8 times
Looks More heavenly than Olive Garden
Saizeriya is fucking goated!
We miss You Ryotaro. More Videos Pls.
Thank you very much for the video!
Hey Ryotaro, great video!
Id love to see more like these
why would you do this? Mama mia...
Those prices are insane holy moly
I hope to meet you some day Ryotaro you are so chill 😊
Peasant Chris Broad??? LOL
Escargot is the best dish at Saizeria.
You are brave Ryotoro.😊
Sorry Ryotaro, but that critic from the Italian judge was impaired by the copious amounts of wine he drank. As an Italian, I think the scoring should of been a lot lower. 🤣🤣
Really intresting video!
Gosh that snail was GROSS!🤮
Wait a sec
Isn't that nanatsusaya from the game machine?
I didn't want to say just4spam just to avoid the shame for affiliation.
:rotolul:
If someone needs to save money that's ok. Just assume you're just eating cheap food of uncertain origin.
Vabbè ma per quello che è non è male :)
will be back in japan next week and im crossing my fingers that saizeria still serves the squid ink pasta ;)
they do!
Davide tried to appropriate Vongole to Lazio, whereas it is one of the staples, if not the symbol of traditional Gulf of Naples pastas.
I clearly Say that It Is also from Naples. "In that area, Lazio and also Napoli"
When the Yakuza meets the Mafia.
Now you’re in Sydney? Niiice
Basically, there are good options and bad options... now you know a bit better how to go and not hate it... skip the 3's lol
That's right ;)
3:10 That bottle looks like the old Adobe Illustrator box the software came out in.
17:47 Shout out to "Total Recall."
Yep It was Total Recall!
Very cool video and Davide is always cool in any situation 🤣
Grazieeeee
Yeaaaaaa boi!
your friend looks like a bootleg john oliver
Lol
Great Vidoe!
I ate at Saizeriya. Its an inexpensive restaurant and not that bad. If you are not too fussy and just looking for an experience similar to a family restaurant, then it is a viable option. Its going to fill you up and not empty your wallet doing so. Are there better options, sure, but if your short on time and a Saiseriya is there, its not a terrible choice. They have many locations so its convenient.
Also imagine eating at an Italian restaurant that you bring your family to, and there is an Italian man sitting next to you the whole time @#$% talking the food with his friend and saying how terrible it is. Its got to make for a less than stellar experience.
Who shit talked about Saizeriya? Have you opened the video?
@@vivigiappone 3 out of 10. That's definitely not praising it. I could go on further but I don't see the need. You are either mis-parsing the meaning of what I have said, or you haven't actually watched the video through yourself.
