Arrma - Kraton EXB V2 unboxing

- In this video we get the new Kraton EXB 6s V2 out of the box and have our first look at this beast. Having plenty of bashing experience with the Kraton platform, from 4s all the way to the 8s, including several 6s trucks, AJ is feeling the excitement for this new offering from Arrma. Come along as we place the V1 next to the V2 for a side by side comparison, keeping in mind that we've really upgraded our V1 in the durability department. The drive systems, motor, ESC, and such, are still stock, including the gearing. In this video we look over the truck to see what they've improved. In the next video in the series we will take both versions out for a serious bash test to see if this new offering is worth the money if you already own the V1.

I'm new to this hobby I recently got this my question is can I run 2×3s 5000 50c or do I have to run 2×3s 5000 100c like the box says 🤔

I've got one. And what I've done is replace the stock shock cap bushings with M2C RACING bushings. The stock ones are rubber and have a lot of slack. I've also added cooling fans for the motor because I run the speed pinion. I replaced all four hubs with Hot Racing hubs because the stock bearings don't last very long. Finally I tuned all my diffs. 500k in the center. 70k front and 30k rear. But before doing any of that I ran it box stock. My style of bashing us much like RC Dude, Rich Duperbash and Aldo Loyal. Big sends. And I can attest that this new EXB RTR doesn't need much. For all intents and purposes if you are not hitting 100 foot plus jumps you don't need anything. This new version has actually lived up it's namesake. Extreme Basher. I own 6 other 6S Arrma platforms. And all of them are fully upgraded with Vitavon, M2C, Hot Racing, RCAWD and Hobbywing. But this new Arrma is the one in my fleet that has had the least modifications. I've even ordered Kraton EXB shocks and put them on my Fireteam and Kraton. They work so good! Specially for the price. You can go onto Jenny's RC and pick up all 4 for 80 bux.

Stoked to get one of these , the red one like the one on Amazon . Man , I got lucky to meet an RC sales guy . He bought out a hobby store that closed a few months ago . He said he’s got about 20 so I ll go there tomorrow and maybe come home with one of these

I have 2 EXB 6s Rollers that we picked up for $319 a piece when they were on a black Friday sale 2 years ago so I’m passing on this one, but we got the 6s Black Rock and are really enjoying it.

Good overview. I'd really like to see a follow up video talking about parts worth upgrading from the Kraton 6s EXB V1. Also what can and can't be easily upgraded based on the newer design. I have the EXB v1 and wondering if it's better just to upgrade what I can since I like my electronics already. Thanks!
Recieve my V2 on december 30th! Didn’t run in yet! Sold My V5 to get this one! What a Nice rig! Looking Forward to Bash it!
I'm getting one soon. Gonna part out 3 others RC, and sell on ebay. And hopefully help covet some of this expense. I'm gonna down size to 5 RCs, and done...Will keep holding parts up (JennysRC).

im liking the new designed motor heatsink..It actually wraps around whole motor and clamps tight with a locking screw....the old one was known for coming loose and moving around, had constant issues with my one on Mojave 6s. will definitely update all my 6s rigs with this new heatsink :)

Great video! I am looking to buy my first rc. I am considering either the Kraton 4s or 6s or the Kagama 6s. Which one would you recommend? Or would you recommend something else? Thanks in advance.
Had mine two weeks love it so far no breaks but have definitely experienced some strange throttle issues in the lower throttle range but just ordered a program box to c if it’s a firmware issue, still drives great tho cause I’m usually in the upper portion of throttle anyway
I hope when I get mine, the software issues are not a problem. Really want a good experience with this. Wife not really feeling another RC :)
When will they come out with the notorious or outcast exb rtr?.

did you ever cover or plan to cover the 8s EXB? The new RTR not the roller. I know you have expressed that the 8s Kraton is one of your favorites. Would love to see your take on the V2 RTR of the Kraton 8s.
I have the original EXB and bought it second hand. Although it had never been run, the guy who had it before me put in SS screws. Unfortunately he used the wrong ones in certain areas and they stripped the plastic out on the bulkhead along with the servo mount from underneath the trunk. Once I fixed those issues the truck ran fine. I really don’t bash it like I did my V3 Kraton 6s. That truck was beaten up pretty bad and I had to bend the chassis back in place a few times! My EXB has had 2 sets of bulkheads replaced so far and I usually just go to Jenny’s RC and replace the diffs with it considering I’ve blown the diffs out a few times as well! The wing mounts are horrible and always seem to find a way of breaking off, even on light bashing days! I switched to the smaller 4s Backflips and they help with blowing the diffs as much! I’m interested in seeing how the new center brace support works. Just wondering if it will put more stress on the center diff housing and if there’s any kind of flex to accommodate the big hits! I’m not a fan of the plastic center diff housing and always seem to strip out the top and bottom screws somehow. Also, and this it just my personal preference, I can’t stand the color Red! Usually I take off all the anodized parts and soak them in over cleaner and then polish the aluminum! Yes it’s kind of a pain but once it’s done along with a new Painted body I’m good! First off, thanks for sharing. Secondly, there are always risks connecting to a center area like the diff housing. A big impact might flex the housing slightly but I doubt it would be overly detrimental to the operation of the car. Chassis flex is always a concern. Still, I think it is a step in the right direction.
I have always been to nervous to trust a "Used RC" myself. All the RC Facebooks groups talk about the scams, and expensive repairs. I feel in the end rather spend a little more for new, and have a warranty myself.
Great video as always. Will the DX3 controller work with the SLT3 receiver? Just wondering cause i purchased a Vortex and i also have a Typhon 3S BLX and would like to use one radio for both.
DX3 can only bind to one car!
We bind them to multiple rigs here. No problem. Need to adjust settings for each car.

I keep the stock transmitter with my cars, and Mark them with a Dymo Label. Again thou, I don't own 20+ RCs, downsizing to 5.
You forgot to mention the motor mount screws..which were a pain on the original Kraton because the set screws kept stripping

They have a version 5 already on Amazon ?
You mentioned in there the red label on the new esc... 🤔 It's the first I've seen an esc carry a warning, do you know what the max C rating is it can take.... Like if I put two 3s in with a 120 c will it take it?....

I like HRB and Ovonic batteries. I am sure they are on Amazon.
its a pity it dosent come with alloy hubs, once the plastic pillow ball hubs pop out they keep doing it, alloy hubs fix that, i dont really mod my trucks that much but i always change out the plastic pillow ball hubs if it has them

Is there a wheelie bar for these cars I’m new to this and this the one I bought
No installed Wheelie Bar, and thus far none available, via JennysRC, that will fit, unless...You modify!
By the way, no shock tower bends, no shock stand-off breaks, no chassis bends and no weak servo.
So the 18kg stock servo is sufficient? I'm so used to having to have to buy a upgraded servo, right off. Be nice if 1x didn't have to do that, and trust thier installed electronics.
@creditrazer981 Yeah man. The stock servo on the Kraton 6S EXB V2 is awesome! I will eventually move on to a Perfect Pass servo. But it's completely unnecessary. That was always one of biggest complaints about the 6S Kratons. But it's not a problem now.

Should of had aluminum steering knuckles instead of plastic
I hate to be the bear of bad news. The drive cups are not longer. They are beefed up at the base and it looks like they're longer but is deceiving. I chatted with... Do RC? I think? He had one of the new cups out and measured from the slot for the pin, to the top of the cup. And behold there the same length. They did not make the cups deeper. So the driveshaft will probably pop out as usual.
If there was one thing they could have solved, that would have been a big step forward.
